Flooring Depot reviews and complaints

I can not believe all these nasty reviews. I purchased flooring from Joe at flooring depot and they could not have done a better job, my floors came out fantastic. I wanted to see if he had a website where I can leave some good feedback and I find this complaints site and I am stunned at all this negative review. Joe gave us such a fair price for the Mannington floor we wanted and his guys did a wonderful job on the installation. I suppose my husband is correct that more people will complain rather than post something good about a company. It is a shame, Joe is a very nice guy and made sure he took absolute care of us every step of the way from the second we walked in his store.

Agree. Please avoid using this company. We had to bring him to small claims court to recover our money. Plus, he was rude and threatening. We tried to help a local business instead of using Expo (when they were in business back in 2004). Big mistake. Thankfully, there are more sites like this with honest reviews to save future customers.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Placed order on 2/6 and scheduled job to start 2/27, was given finish date of Friday Mar 8. Paid first of 3 installments.
Contractor started on 2/27 – paid Joe 2nd installment
Contractor spent a couple hours here, a couple hours there until the job was finished 4 WEEKS LATER
One bedroom apartment, 900 SFT
Whole place full of dust, furniture on top of furniture for 4 weeks.
On estimated finish date of Friday 3/8 was promised contractor would work Sat and finish Monday. Never showed Sat
On Tuesday 3/12 was promised Thursday at the latest
On Thursday 3/13 husband called and Joe promised it would be finished on Friday
On Friday 3/15 – contractor had not been there for two days, I had a blow out with the owner, was promised they’d work all day Sat and finish Monday – spent 2 hours sat, not finished Monday
Tuesday 3/19 – job still not done – found out FINAL BALANCE FOR JOB COMPLETION WAS CHARGED TO MY CARD ON 3/7 – unauthorized.
3/19 googled Flooring Depot and saw all the other bad comments, same s***t
3/20 – Reversed charges on my card.
3/25 – job was finished. Some poor workmanship where a “helper” did the work – baseboards don’t even cover the gaps..

The above poster is full of s---. Prizzi is a total and complete liar.
Guys show up late. Unprepared. They don't clean up. My home is a mess.
Prizzi won't return calls. Work is delayed and dragged out.
I could not be more pissed off at this little s--- .

I am really puzzled at the few complaints I have reviewed on this website about Flooring Depot. I have known Mr. Prizzi the owner of Flooring Depot for several years and have had work done by him several times and have sent him numerous referrals and never once has anyone complained about his products or work, they were actually more than satisfied with his products and or installation. Myself, along with the friends and family I referred couldn't ask for any better of a job or price, Mr. Prizzi not only beat every price I could find in the area, but he also gave quality products and always gives his honest opinion about every job and never tries to push anyone into making a sale they might not want. I also know from my experience with Flooring Depot that he told me the wood floors in my case would be in on Monday and installed the following day and they were right on time, I couldn't have asked for any better service or installation, and its the same case for all the people of which I have referred to them. Flooring Depot will get my business every time and I would recommend them to anyone looking for carpet, tile, wood or any installations, they have the best prices, service and installers, I can't even believe they would have even these minimal complaints. - Dave

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid! I, too, could kick myself for not checking this site before hiring Flooring Depot. Every single complaint against them is well earned. I experienced the same underhanded practices. They purposely made the written contract vague so that they could come back after the fact and demand more money for doing what we had already hired and paid them for. They never delivered part of the tile we purchased, telling me tough s**t, and 'sue me'. They also charged me for the completion of the job before even starting the installation, and without my authorization. I am now fighting the bank to get my money back. There are so many flooring contractors in Ft Lauderdale - do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs. Spread the word!

Owner is a total BS artist. I wish I would have checked on-line reviews before using him. Lied about how long he has been in business. Lied about when they could do the install. Lied about his installers. He told me, unlike other companies, these were his employees, not contractors. These guys WERE contractors and charged me $200 extra for pre-work that needed to be done. I would NEVER do business with him again.

This was the worst company we ever did business with. They installed damaged carpet, did not replace padding because they said ours was better (which we found out later it was not), and laid a seam directly in front of the door. After calling them for two months, they never fixed the problem and NEVER returned out calls. I had to call them until I reached someone and then they would lie and say they would come out and never called back and never would come out again. I don't know how this company stays in business.
