Gecco Marketing scam

I received a call stating I had won a 5 day trip to Orlando, FL and Daytona beach for up to 6 people, all I had to do was pay $398 up front and take a 90 promo tour of the resort once I got there. When I refused to give my credit card information up front and told them it all sounded too good to be true, the representative proceeded to call me dumb, told me I was making a big mistake and hung up the phone.

So glad I listened to my intuition and didn't follow through! After reading numerous online complaint boards about this company, my advice is to hang up before they even get started.

My husband and I purchased a 5 day vacation through Gecco Marketing in 2011. I, Briley Leveronne had been in contact with Lauren, in the Wellington, Fl office several times. She told me she would forward our confirmation via email. I contacted Lauren 4 times over the course of three weeks because we did not receive that confirmation. On August 22nd, 2012 we...

You will not get a refund even if you follow the 30 day written requirement of the law. After you have paid basically all of your calls to their company will be screened through voice mail. If you request a refund they will not return your call or even pick up your phone calls. However, I was proactive and visited their website to request the refund in writing. Guess what conveniently they argue that their website links are inactive! What she fails to tell you is that they will sell products under the Gecco Marketing name and that license expired 4/28/2011. They sold me the package in Oct. of 2011 under that name. Therefore, they will sell you the product under the Gecco Marketing name and then after requesting a refund you will get a letter that says the business is closed and that Vacation Headquarters, inc. will now handle the account. You will even find that someone claiming to be one of their own employee's or previous employees has stated on the scam boards that they will not refund the money even if you contact them within the 30 days.

Here are the avoidance tactics they have used against my attorney and I:

1. Say initially that you are out of the refund period even if you contacted them within the 30 days.
2. With the website say that the links are inactive
3. Deny with the BBB any wrongdoing. The BBB found that "Business did not make a good faith effort to resolve the issue." They even tried to say I was putting their company in a false light, but all of my evidence against them proves different. (Just as They have done on this board!)
4. Their final response to the department of agriculture and consumer services was that "He was never told to contact us through our website." Awful funny that their package says please visit us at www.geccomarketing.com
5. Their final tactic has been not to reply to the last letter asking for the name of their attorney to send a lawsuit to.

As you can see they try to use every possible way to avoid the refund. However, I would have likely re-booked a trip with them at a later time had they just refunded my money. Now I will set out at every step of their way to prevent them from doing this to other people.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY there are far better companies out of Florida that have better policies and responses to consumer needs.

Gecco Marketing mis selling promotional offer

we received a call from one of their operatives about four weeks ago stating we has one a vacation to florida as a result of entering a compertion at the NEC birmingham boat and caravan show in feb of 2011. we were then told of the deal which was four nights in orlando and three nights in daytona beach. the deal also included a two day ticket pass to a theme park of our choice. we understood that airline tickets and transfers were our responsibilty. it sounded too good to be true. the only thing we hd to do was attend a presentation at their timeshare accommodation. so we paid on our credit card the agreed fee which was quoted as 390 dollars. we were then transfered to another operative who stated the price was 490 dollars. we pointed out that we had just been quoted 390 and the operative said that we were lucky as that had been stated they would honour this price. so we went ahead. however when the detailed information arrived in the pist some 10 days later we found that we had been charcged 490 dollars and not the agreed 390 and also that we would also be responsible for daily room tax on the accommodation. when we eventually got our credit card statement it showed as 648.94 dollars converted at an exchange rate of 1.58 meant we had been charged 410.45 uk pounds. i e mailed but got no response and phoned but got no respone, so phoned again eventually an operative rang me. as i was explaining what had happened she interuppted me stating they would listen to the tapes re the original cost quoted, but that i should be honest. i took exception to this and told her most strongly that i did not lie and that there were other thoings i needed to dicuss and that i had contaxted them three times before they had eventually contacted me. she just stated that the deal was none refundable and that she was not going to be shouted at and hung up. we are left now with a deal we feel has been mis sold and mis represented both in price quoted and price eventually charged and the extras of the daily room charge. we are at a loss what to do about this and are seeking advice from citizens advice. can anyone advice please

This is comment slanderous and libelous. There is an audio receipt where the customer paid in pounds not dollars. If it is not removed immediately, the persons behind these comments will be held liable!
