Hotel Bargains No refund for unused voucher

I received a phone call from Hotel Bargains in July 2012 offering cheap hotel accommodation. I paid $249 to purchase 25 voucher. The vouchers and details came to after 10 days have passed. I had no immediate need to do any hotel booking with Hotel Bargains at that time . Just a week ago I decided to go to Melbourne and ask them find their discount hotel accommodation in one of the Melbourne suburb. When I called them no body was there to attend the phone call. Somebody called me after 2 days to find my need. I told the woman on the phone where I wanted to stay in Melbourne. She called me back saying that they don't have any hotel in that area on their list. I got suspicious and started to explore Hotel Bargains. I found out this company DON'T have the legal requirements. 1. No ABN 2. No Travel Agent Licence, 3. No e-mail address, No Fax number, Nobody will attain your call immediately. I called them to refund my money $249 to which they have refused me saying that your 10 DAYS COOLING PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. Please note the voucher arrived me 10 days. I wish some body advise me recover my money from these frauds

I received my membership info 10 days after purchase. So, I didn’t have any chance to check their deals. When I checked Hotelbargain deals, I really surprised as their deals are all more expensive than any other deals. So, I was really confused why I need Hotelbargain vouchers. It would be much cheaper if I purchased it from other booking website...

Hotel Bargains wrong information provided by sales

I was sold coupons on a basis that hotel rooms are available from 6th Dec- 10th Dec and the price was $119 per night. I was further told that one night I will pay and other night will be free. I clarified right from start to the sales person that since my daughters weeding is on 8th Dec, thats why I am buying these coupons and I must get such accommodation. Sales person confirmed me and even provided the hotel address. I visited the hotel, accommodation is available on those days but now when I am trying to book the hotels through hotel bargain, I am getting quoted different price. Their officers are very rude in talking. I requested them to either offer me hotels at the price which was quoted to me during the sale or return my money. They are refusing to do so. I wish to take this matter further with fair trading as I believe so many people must be getting cheated by such organizations and I need to stop. Thanks.

Kind regards,

We had same situation as well. Hotel Bargains Queensland marketing team misled us and gave us info which was not correct at all. They normally send you info after cooling-off period so you don’t have time to check. So be aware ! If you have already did and not happy, Report it to the ACCC Infocentre on [protected] or visit the report a scam page on SCAMwatch

Hotel Bargains Queensland marketing team misleading the consumers
I received my membership info 10 days after purchase. So, I didn’t have any chance to check their deals. When I checked Hotelbargain deals, I really surprised as their deals are all more expensive than any other deals. So, I was really confused why I need Hotelbargain vouchers. It would be much cheaper if I purchased it from other booking websites (hotel.com, booking.com) or even from the hotel itself! I was still within my 10 business day cooling off period. I called them and asked for cancellation. But the customer service was really rude and never try to resolve my problem and told me NOT 10 business days and my claim is not correct (No help at all!) . I am going to call Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) on [protected] and Customer affair Queensland to open this case for further investigation. Please do so if you are in same situation

Hotel Bargains Rip off

Beware of this company, was contacted by phone re this accommodation deal where you pay $220 and you get discounts on certain hotel accommodation booked on their website or by calling a customers service team. After many attempts to phone finally went on their website and booked accommodation. The accommodation booked through them was $833.00 if I booked direct to hotel the same accommodation was $770. After many many attempts finally got through to hotel bargains to a very rude female, who turned nasty when I questioned her about the price difference. So the end result being the vouchers I paid $220 are just basically 2 for one food deals. This was never explained in the beginning. If they contact you be very wary it is just money making scam..

I have received calls on the phone about special rates for hotels in aust & nz. They were indian speaking accent and admitted calling from India. They gave me an ABN No. of BN [protected] which I believe is not a valid number. I was to send them $99 in return for the brouchers of the HotelBargains website . I spoke to 3 different people on the last call. I have said to them to not ring again but doesn't seem to work. Is there someone who can do something about these scammers?

All I can blame is myself for buying "hotelbargains" vouchers, recently I want to use the vouchers for booking an accommodation for few days, I have been tried to ring their customer services number [protected], but no matter when you ring, it never got through, is "hotelbargains" still operating? are they legal?

I have repeatedly been phoned by this company over the last year or so. I would estimate about 20 times. And 3 times just in the last 10 days.
I have each time said I was not interested, and lately, requested them never to call me again. I have the last 2 times asked to speak to the caller's supervisor, and the first time the '' supervisor '' actually promised to remove my number. But yet another call 2 days later.
It is always the same spiel from a barely understandable fast talking south asian sounding caller who says the call is from the Gold Coast.
You would think these people would have some idea that each unwanted call would irritate people to the stage of never wanting to deal with such shonks.
