Industry Model And Talent Studio scam

Approached in mall like everyone else, my daughter was called twice, after almost a year finally got an activity report I called on my own to verify if my daughter's pics was every sent to them, most places said no, some never heard of the company, customer service was full of answers that made no sense, how can so many people be wrong, I hope others will learn from us and check websites before signing their precious ones up, if this how the company makes money it is just a matter of time before they are closed down. I will take advantage of my photo shoots because I paid but you better believe the BBB will be called and the channel 11 news. Who has money, time and energy to waste, we should all get together somehow ro resolve this issue. Any questions feel free to send e mail [protected]@mac.com

Industry Model And Talent Studio Scams and Fraud

I am also filing a complaint against the Industry Model and Talent Studio in Edgewater, NJ just like other hundreds of people or maybe thousands. I would really appreciate if you would take time and let other people in the world know how much of a scam and fraud those people are. My family has been a victim to this fraud and probably tons of many more. They paint a clear picture for your son or daughters future but in reality its just a waste of money. There is no cancellation fee and tons of people are getting ripped of for thousands of dollars. I would LOVE for these people to shut down there business but it takes more than a simple phone call. These people are playing with our kids emotion and they seem to not care. If you have also been a victim I would love for you to contact me at my email address which is [protected]@yahoo.com. I think its ridiculous that someone would have to pay a full price when there not even 100% sure if the kid is going to book a job. They should go out of business ASAP so please email me.

I might have a solution to get your money back!

We were approached by these people in East Brunswick Mall. We were duped into paying for photo session. I couldnt dispute the charges until photos were taken. After photo session, we said NO to marketing and promptly disputed the charges.
I looked at the contract and found a loophole. Even though they took more pictures than specified in the contract, they didnot take specified number of different poses. I used it and disputed the charges. I got my money back!
I am sure there are more loopholes in the contract if we look thoroughly...

RE: Complaint against Industry Modeling & Talent Studios
We were at Six Flags, using our season passes, as we were leaving for the day near the exit. My daughter and a friend (both girls, 11 years old) were approached by a young woman approximately 20-25, she was telling them that “they had a great look and could be models or actors” and she said “she scouted for Six Flags and other big companies”.
She would not give up until the girls gave her their cell numbers and then she gave them a business card. They called a day later on my cell, I did not answer. These people made too many phone calls that I ignored because, I didn’t know the number, I can not count the numbers of calls that they made; I just continued to ignore them until one day my daughter answered the phone she said, “ Mommy please talk to these people it is my future I really, really want to go. I talked to them they told me that the only day I could see them with an appointment was on next day otherwise I have to wait for long time because they had too many people. I said its ok I will give you a call, I hung up and I didn’t call, they call later that night again, but my husband answered my cell phone. He answered, “There’s some company asking to speak to my daughter said they scouted her for Six Flags and wanted to make an appointment to discuss modeling”. They set an appointment for the next Saturday.
When we went to that place we filled out a simple application, then we were call to a room with a women who ignored my husband and I the whole time she was talking to my daughter all the time how beautiful she was and how easy it was going to be in Disney and how people who have been trying out too twenty years never became famous because we work with over 200 casting directors, personal acting and modeling agents that represent and make people famous. Working with us will make it easy to get famous. But only for a few dollars for photos, marketing and exposure we make it that easy. You first need a Head Shot Photo, with a Bio, and Composite Cards that our marketing team will send out to agents. She even asked my daughter, ” who was her favorite artist and she said, don’t tell me it is Justin Bieber”? My daughter said, ”how did you know it was him?”, the women answered “we know you will have the opportunity to meet him and to spend time with him”. Then she explained to my husband and I what was that we have to do. It is very simple she shows us various photo books still talking the fee is the cost of the Photo Shoot and the best thing is that the marketing team and showing the cards are free. The pictures packages and how much they cost ranged between $800.00 up to $5000.00 based on how many shots. She was showing us picture and we decided one 4 different poses for pictures for $1175. Then the big secret is that, “we will do everything else; you guys don’t have to pay another penny”, “Industry will do everything “ she asked, “Now lets put Industry behind her you know it’s all for her”. My daughter said, ”Please mommy it’s for photos and everything”. She then asked me which credit card then held her hand out for my credit card and run it then after she run my credit card she said, “ I will give you a give for two hundred dollars more we are going to give you 48 more photos totaling 96 shots ”. She had the credit card and she ran it again. Then she told me initial here and here for permission for the photo shots but she was covering the paper with so many other papers and then I signed for the permission to market and present her pictures to all their affiliates casting, modeling agents. Then the women said, “Your in luck we have an appointment for next Saturday to take the pictures”. Then we said, “we have to look at our schedule and she said everything is set for you we can’t change the appointments we have to pay the photographers too much money there is no second chances over here you have to do it this way, I told you that”. When we came home we started to do some research about these people and when we found a lot about the ugly things that approximately 200 people had to say about them we got to the copy of the contract, that she “conveniently” stapled shut before we left her office. These copies and reverse sided copies of yellow paper showed that the women had misled, misrepresented, coercion, and used every type of exploitation just for the money. We found out that we didn’t own any thing not pictures, no negatives. Industry says we don’t even have the right to cancel the contract.
We didn’t have any rights not even to have our daughter pictures, I got so scared, I had a strange feeling that these people are doing some kind of child exploitation or even worst. So I wrote them a letter that I fax with in the three business days that the law permits. One copy of the cancellation notice to shoot the photos mailed via regular mail and one mailed certified copy, return receipt requested. I did that on Tuesday 20 July 2010 and then on the 21 Wednesday 2010 when day all this happened on Saturday July 17, 2010. I also faxed a copy on July 21, 2010 (Wednesday).
All these actions were accomplished within (3) three business days. When they call me on the phone today I missed the call but I call back to see if they have already received the correspondence (Notice of Cancellation) or transferred the money back to my account I found out they were calling just to tell me that my appointment was set for Saturday, July 24, 2010. I told them, “Do you think I am stupid, you received my fax of the Notice of Cancellation, yesterday. And, today you received the letter in the mail. So what is your problem, you think because you tried scammed me the way you scammed everybody that goes to your place, you are going to get anything else from me. So, next time only call me; when you have a refund check. No services were rendered, no photos shot, and no photographer scheduled you people should be investigated for child exploitation, misrepresentation and fraud.
I am respectfully requesting a full and cursory investigation on this company. They do not give negatives of any photos of children to the parents, how are they using these photos. A copy of this letter will be forwarded to the Child Exploitation Unit, FBI Center at Quantico, VA. No telling where these digital photos are used?
It hurts me that New Jersey allows people like these predators to operate. This is a direct violation of human and children’s rights for exploitation. There are more than 225 BBB complaints on the New Jersey BBB Website, with a rating of “F”. How are they allowed to approach children at Six Flags Great Adventure?

If you want justice in your case contact us and tell us your story by emailing us at scammer.scanners@yahoo.com. Together we can get our money back!

Industry Model And Talent Studio Fraud and scam

Its just a photo studio!

They are the people who talk you into getting their business from scape -goats like us. They don't tell the truth and play with our children emotions. They made us sign the contract without pointing out the cancellation policy, walking us thru the contract so fast that we don't doubt them a bit. Finally they trap you and make you feel helpless. Total mental torture. I want to sue them. I have put a stop payment on my transaction and plan to get a lawyer to get their ***.

Please people out there do not even think of stepping into their office. Do not even try to. They are rude over the phone. Ripping off people. We have been going back on forth to cancel our shoot and they refuse to! Any one who can share their experience of how to get our money back from them will be of great help.

Why doesn't anyone shut them down since so many complaints have been lodged against them...

You're not supposed to pay agents anything. They're supposed to get a portion of the salary once a job is booked but you don't pay them. So please don't waste your money on these scammers.

I know people are going to think i work for them. I really don't. My stepson was approached at the mall with my wife. We met with Kevin Lane. We did sign up. I wanted to walk away and think about it. He did his sale pitch and suckered my wife. So we paid and set up a shoot. Then we found out we had to pay for that and we were ticked off. We ended up getting it done anyway and the photos came out great. The photographer did seem like he was hung over but that is beside the point. We had several agents call to sign him but did not go to any of them. We finally got a call for an audition in NY for a nickelodeon commercial. They liked him and the agent who booked him to go called us a week later telling us he got the part. So I took him to NY for the shoot and he got paid. There were a couple of other auditions that they called us for but my wife and I both work and cant get him to go to the last second ones. But as skeptical I was and didn't want to do it, it was a good experience for him and not that I expect him to make any money to show for all the trouble the little bit he did was well worth it. The only down fall is we paid more to sign him up and the photo shoot then what he got paid for through the commercial.

I'm trying to get started in modeling and so i went to Barbizon for modeling and acting, they selected me to take their classes but they didn't seem like we were getting anywhere. after 6 months and thousands of dollars they had an audition for a cruse with agents on it; but they wanted 3000 for one person. we decided not to go with them and there still calling my dad. we found out the hard way that they only take you so far. So we went to an audition for Whilimina models and i was accepted, they required classes and said that they needed 1700 for all of it. I decided that that sounded like too much and so i went to Mainline i met with the woman that Sammi is talking about and i am having the same issues. first it was no fee, she told me my walk was too loud and that i needed a monolouge. She didn't require classes for me so i thought it was a good idea. When she said that i would need photos she requested we use her photographer and pay 250. so we did after that we recieved a disc with 90 photos and Luraine seemed to love them and wanted to show them to a booking agent. One problem she never signed me. she told me that phyldiphia is a secondary market and that they don't sign us unless we start bringing in money. so she showed them to the booking agent and they liked my photos too so they wanted 3 blown up to 8 by 10's but we had to blow them up. Next she suggested acting classes and a monolouge so she gave me one and recomended mike lemming. but she said it would be 150 and that he doesn't do this very often so we don't wanna miss out. We go to the class but i don't lear anything really and when my parents were talking to the other parents they said that they always have classes with him and that he does this very often. One of the moms was talking to my mom and said that all of those kids are signed. but wait i thought philidelphia was secondary and didn't sign people. now there cornered in a lie.

Even if Main Line Models & Talent/Plaza 7 gets you a "hairshow" you will never get your money from the criminal in charge Larain Coldin. Don't be an idiot. No legit agency works a booth in the mall. RUN from Main Line Models. It's a lie. A scam. Trust your gut and don't pay to play.

So I have the same story as the rest of you, was scouted in the mall, went to go talk to them because I was curious and just wanted some information and next thing you know I'm feeling pressured to hand over hundreds of dollars for photos. I will admit they didn't promise me fame & they made it clear they are not a modeling agency but a marketing company. After the photo shoot when I went to look at my pictures I figured I'd probably spend a little more money on composite cards and again I'm asked to pay thousands more to be on their website. After they bargained with me a little I agreed to pay even more money. If I had read these posts before I would have never even drove up there because now I'm terrified & so disappointed. They did all this a couple months ago & I just got a call that "Plaza 7" wants to meet with me. Has anyone heard of this "Plaza 7?" Is it legit or is it just another partner in this scam? Please let me know.

SCAM SCAM SCAM... I was approched in a mall too.. made my appointment. before the appointment day I called and ask is there any money involved.. the lady on the phone said no. So we went and brought our daughter. they sat us down in a private office and talked us into getting her a $1000 dollars photo shoot, they said that would be the last of our expenses. So we went back another day for the photo shoot.. my daughter enjoyed every minute of it, when done, they gave us a third appointment. We came back to pick up the pictures and cd.. again we where sat in a private office and talked into buying a subscription to a web site that would "show" my daughter's pictures, were potential companies search for the type of children they need... again this time they asked us for $800 more. Thats when we saw red and my husband and I left. Lots of promises and no real deal. We were never called and they never wanted to face us and explained what happended. Since then, every time we go to a mall and we see them I scream SCAM! in front of all the parents. I tell everyone I know so they wont fall for it... DONT FALL FOR THIS SCAM.. YOU CAN EASILY TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR CHILD AND PROMOTE HIM/HER YOURSELF.. OR GO TO A REAL AGANCY!

After signing up my daughter by filling out a form from the scam artist number one at the mall, $3500.00 later and just an expensive photo shoot which was not even airbrushed as they said it would be, I know it is a scam. I had my doubts right from the beginning but by the third time I was asked at the mall to just provide info and someone would contact me, I didn't see any harm in trying. Little did I know, once I called and the always rude receptionists answered and scheduled my appointment with the pushiest of all saleswoman, I should have just ran out the door. These people are brainwashers. I swear it is like they do voodoo on people to get them through the door. They showed us the pics of the same kid over and over again in ads for toys. I'm pretty sure they only use their own kids for the shoots because one lady that worked there even admitted to me that her son was in some ads. Then they just keep making you pay for more and more crap and I kept asking when we would see our money back by getting my daughter some work. They said that within a couple of months we should start getting some calls. What a bunch of liars! I am warning all my friends not to get sucked into this bunch of ###! The photographer was a jerk too and the hairstylists are so phony although they were the highlight of the whole experience. We got two calls from them asking us to call them back about my daughter possibly being on a t.v. show and then Men in Black 3 and when I called them back literally two seconds later, they said the part had been filled. They do this only to keep you interested in the agency and pretend you have a chance for the future. Then I get a call from a company affiliated with them to pay and sign up for a seminar that would help my child in the industry. Go screw yourselves..you bunch of heartless ###s! I don't care too much about the money, but to hurt my daughter's feelings, I hope they all choke to death! Karma Karma Karma! They should be very careful who they screw with because they are going to piss off the wrong person and who knows what might happen?

This place is the biggest scam, but it's idiots who fall for it. Anyone with any common sense would know that legit agencies are all in NYC. The "discovered in the mall" card these people pull only works because suckers like you fall for it. Kiosks in the mall are owned/operated by Israeli Jews who want nothing more than to swindle you fools!
I knew a friend who worked part time at the Talent booth in Willowbrook. She was told by her Israeli Mob boss, always pick out the "unattractive or homely" looking people to approach, because they are the ones who desire the attention & are willing to drop money for it.
No you're kid is not adorable.
No you're not beautiful or handsome.
Yes you will get [censor] headshots, that no respectable agency will EVER see.
Doesn't take a genius.

oh and by the way "goml444" it's funny how people who actually work there say it is a scam *smh*. I'd take into account THEIR opinion before yours any day, because they are people who reluctantly and unwillingly did the scamming where you are I'm guessing a naive person who was unfortunately lucky enough not to experience the scam. xP
