Skiphay, I'm taking your advise on this one. Here's what happened with me:

I conducted a ONE TIME background on myself because of another Fraud issue that occurred to my Bank Account last year. I had to switch bank account numbers and I then ran a ONE TIME background report on myself through Inteligator to see if I could somehow pin-point the person's whereabouts who had somehow obtained my bank account number. My suspicion was that whoever might have used my bank info was also using my SS as well and if a reported address that I never used in a city I never lived in came up, I would then take legal action that way. Therefore, I used Inteligator.com for a ONE TIME report. The site gave me the choice for a subscription and I clicked that I did not want a subscription. I don't ever do that. For some reason, I was signed up for a subscription. I have been charged $29.95 per month for the next 10 months. I thought the charge was related to a bill-pay for 24 hours fitness. This last payment, I get an email notification, for the 1st time, that says that I was being charged $29.95 from "Inteligator." I have not been on Inteligator’s site since that One Time transaction. I called and spoke with Click-bank who handles payments for Inteligator and was blamed by the Supervisor for not checking my bank account properly and that they had been sending me notifications. This just pissed me off. The 1st question I asked was if he could produce for me these so-called notifications that he said that that have been sent and he said No. I then asked if he can reproduce this so-called subscription I signed up for and he said no. I then advised with a much deeper tone that he does not have much ground to stand on and I demanded refund IMMEDIATELY. Now, on my 1st call, the girl I spoke with did not hesitate to refund 2 payments, but since they cannot go beyond 60 days, she advised that she could not do any more. I received an email notification that 2 had been refunded, but they have not yet been placed into my account. I then asked him that if I am the one at fault here, why did they not hesitate to immediately refund 2 payments of the 10 payments? He would not answer the question. I then asked if it was safe to say that they were just trying to cover their tracks the best they could because they know that Inteligator is in the wrong? No answer. I then asked if he read all of the complaints on this website and /link removed/ regarding this type of situation. Again, no answer. I then demanded that he give me the name and contact telephone number for the owner of Inteligator or the representative on this account. He said he did not have this information. I then asked why his company is doing business with a company that they have no way of contacting. He used the excuse that it's an online service and that they do not generally have this information. I told him that he needs to have a way of direct contact with a company of whom he is completing monetary banking transactions with. I again demanded the name and telephone number for the owner or contact with Inteligator. He again advised that he did not have it. Knowing that I was not going to get anywhere at this point, I then INSTRUCTED him to send an email to his contact at Inteligator to call me immediately and CC me on this email." He actually did this and I told him that I will be contacting him tomorrow to see what he found out for me. I then asked him why he tried to throw it back in my face being that it is my fault that all this happened and he would not answer. The email address his correspondence went to was support@inteligator.com. I have emailed that same address 3 times since yesterday, 6/28/2011 and have yet to receive a response. I advised them that they need to contact the fraud division of my bank immediately to discuss payment arrangements. I further advised them that they need to call me immediately. Nothing. My bank is in the process of doing everything they can to get the money back, but I was advised that we might have to take legal action against this company. I think it’s in the best interest of Inteligator to just pay back everyone they have done this too.

If they are pulling the same old scam of taking more money out of your account than agreed upon, you need to A. Contact your bank and stop payment B. Contact your state Department of Justice and file a complaint against them and have your money returned; C. Contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint - if more people would do this it would shut down these crooks, there is not one on the Web who gives out legitimate information - as Intelius - who had my mothers current address and phone number - trouble is she passed away in 1986, didn't know you could call the dead...but Intelius knows? As do all the rest of them - do not purchase anything online unless you are dealing with a reputable company.

Inteligator.com No cost info up front

I logged in on www.govssnrecords.org and provided my password and my SSN. Then I was asked to pay 24.92
So I thought... well... nothing is for free.
Then I suddenly realized that I was transferred to "inteligator.com"... then they asked me for money again...
2.95 for a 4 day trial and 19.95 if I don't cancel. So I paid 2.95.
I needed to do a criminal background check and was asked another 29.95.
I don't mind paying for something, but I would like to know the odds before I start.
Obviously I canceled everything... by the way there are two email addresses

[protected]@inteligator.com and
[protected]@inteligator.com

Make sure you spell inteligator with one 'L' only
You probably need to provide the "charge code", email-address and password... I don't know.
Anyway I brace for lots of hassle with the Credit-Card and this lot.

Here is a tip:
Call the Credit-Card company and report your card as stolen. Then you get a new number and they cannot charge you any longer. Legally you still have to pay since you entered a contract, but the repetitive charging is clearly fraudulent, since you made an honest effort to cancel the subscription.
Do not even bother to call the Credit-Card company and complain about fraudulent charges. You will call 5 consecutive numbers holding 45 minutes each and talking to a computer repeating your Credit Card number multiple times and so on.
This is what you do:
Send the Credit Card company a certified letter.
State all the facts and add the following sentence:
"Unless you refund my money in full, I will refrain from using my card in the future"
This worked for me... they refunded me over $200 in a similar case.
Banks are pragmatic people, they like to keep their costumers.
And you will get a new Credit-Card anywhere.

The service did not provide any useful information. I was fully aware that what I was looking for existed; however, it was not found, nor was the person being searched found. I then proceeded to cancel, since the site obviously was not legitimate. Much to my surprise, they have continued to take money from my credit card since November 2011 and it it now February 2012. I received notification today from "clickbank" that I cannot be refunded. I have made it clear to my credit card company that I completely dispute the fraudulent charges.

Tried a trial run and can't communicate to tell them to stop. The service doesn't work and when I try and cancel, their cancellations e-mail is no good. There is no way to contact them and i just keep getting approx. $20. a month taken out of my paypal account and I want it to stop. This is a complete rip-off. Never do the trial because once they get you, they just keep sucking you dry.

I have the same problem with Inteligator.com I signed up for the 4.95 trial offer and immediately, same day sent the required email to cancel the subscription. Four days later my debit card was charged a monthly fee. After numerous attempts to get a refund thru bankclic I realized that they don't give refunds only cancellations. I have now e-mailed Adrienne at customer support 3 times without success in getting my refund. She or He continues to say I have not sent the correct information even though I have done exactly what is supposedly required to get a refund and a cancellation. DO NOT use this service. It is a RIP OFF!

ClickBank is nothing more than a scam website set up to charge you ($24.95) for sending you to another website (in my case, Inteligator.com), that in turns also charges you ($2.95 trial) to supposedly find information, but only to send you to another screen for another set of charges ($29.95) for further information, which NONE was provided at all any...
