This company sent me to collections wrongfully. The anesthesiologist who treated me, Dr. Fan, is contracted with my insurance, they failed to bill in a timley manner, now they want me to pay this bill! They have damaged my credit, I am in the middle of purchasing a home. When i called to have this removed, the rude receptionist Jessica said "no, since the insurance didn't pay, someone has to, so we are billing you and it will not be removed from collections". i already filed a complaint with the BBB, and have reported this doctors office and Jessica to Provider Relations. I should not have to pay for their incompetence. They failed to bill on time and now they want me to pay this bill?

i really dont know who is charging me 226.00 dollars a month and that i have 10 payments behind
I just found that i have 3 bills on my credit report from medical payment data and i never even got a bill for any of the 3 for medical service so i went for a mortgage today and thats how i learned of this. And would love to know how i get these 3 items off my report knowing i had insurance at the time that would have paid for health services
I set up an Experian online account ($16), and found a link to their dispute process in the FAQs found at the 'Help Center' link at the top of the website. Once I viewed the detailed report in the dispute process, it gave me the name & contact information for the collection agency handling the medical account.
There is a bill listed on acredit report Iwant to question! The payment should have been received in 2006. Because I submitted said payment to the insurance handlers. I believe this listing on my report is an error. Please check your records to resolve my credit.

How do I find Medical Payment Data
i took my granddaughter to the Emergeny room and the bill was sent in my name, i have spoke to someone at this company numerous time who requested i send in her birth certificate and parents address which i did. this has now shown up on my credit report. i will be contacting BBB for an investigation as to my rights
I am trying to take care of my husband's expenses so he can get a home loan in his name since my credit is damaged and is in repair mode. At least his was good enough that it is close to obtain a home loan. We used our income tax to take care of my husband's expenses as recommended and the mortgage specialist made copies of each payment that we paid out to mail into the credit bureaus. . Today, February 15, 2013., A very rude person named Brandy; who I spoke to about MY HUSBANDS accounts said that she wanted payment from me from services dating December, 2010 in which I NEVER had services at the particular hospital, as they are privatized and all they care is about is money before treating the patient. I told her I do not go to this hospital and I get my services elsewhere. Then she mentioned my husband never paid his bill either, when I have the confirmation of payment from the phone call and they took it out of our bank account. I was so angry that they tried to say my husband never paid his bill. I told her I will be calling someone from legal, if they took money from us, where did it go? This is a reason why I do not like dealing with debt collectors. We are trying to take care of something that we can have as our own, but if these companies are going to be shady, I will refuse to pay. I will be reporting them to the BBB and see what my rights are.
I was a medical biller for many many years and LEGALLY you do not have to pay. When the office failed to file your claim on time they broke thier contract with your insurance company. Contact the provider complaints department of you insurance company and explain your situation. What they will do is file a report, and contact the provider on your behalf and explain to them that since he broke his contract he can be removed from their list of contracted providers (basically losing him a lot of business). The software used buy medical facilities for billing saves the date a bill was first printed or sent electronically without the ability of the user to tamper with it JUST FOR SITUATIONS LIKE THIS! The BBB isnt going to be much help, doctors dont tend to care about thier reputation thru that firm. You absolute best bet is to work with your insurance company's Provider Complaints department on the matter as they are well more educated on your rights. Health Insurance companies are set up to advocate for their customer despite the popular image and their people will definately help you make it right because they do care about their rating with the BBB :) and advocating for the patient with an in-network provider is part of their agreement with you the consumer!
