MJS Studios MJS RUINED MY MEMORIES

MJS Studios RUINED my wedding memories.

First of all, when we signed the contract with them, they were called Lindelle. Lindelle had been around forever and was, I thought, a reputable company. We met with them at a David's Bridal location, and signed a contract that day. BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE! Shortly after signing the contract, we received an email and a letter in the mail letting us know they'd changed their name to MJS Studios. No big deal, right? Well, kiddies, it seems that they just can't practice good business and have YET AGAIN changed their name, this time to Timeless Image Studios. We were never notified of this change, so when I went online today to send the link to my photos to my sister, imagine my shock and dismay when there IS NO WEBSITE for MJS Studios. It took some research and a call to David's Bridal to confirm, but I was eventually able to find out the new name these slimeballs are hiding under. I went to their website to get the link to the photos to send to my sister, only to find that as far as their event library is concerned, my photos do not exist.

Now, our wedding was on September 19th of 2009, and my husband and I have yet to pick out our wedding albums. We haven't been able to get more than 100 photos in without my breaking into tears and him becoming enraged. The photos are HORRIBLE. SO many of our friends and family took pictures that day (one of our friends even followed around the MJS photographer, who was extremely rude and poorly dressed, and took most of the same pics the "professional" did) and ALL of the photos we received from family and friends are better than the ones we paid OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS for.

We were married outdoors on a beautiful cloudless Autumn day. This "professional" took MANY photos using an infrared camera. For those of you not familiar with this little beauty, the photos it takes turn out looking basically like a sepia-toned NEGATIVE! They are HORRIBLE PHOTOS, and we NEVER approved use of that type of photography. We also requested a more "photo journalistic" style of photography, assuming that would give us more "real" and less "posed" photographs. There was NO photo journalistic quality to ANY of the photos. I also have no idea who was actually at my wedding, because this "professional" didn't take pictures of all the tables. We were very disappointed in this aspect, because my husband and I put a lot of work into making each table's centerpiece look very unique. Most of the shots he took that didn't have people in them -our rings, the cake, THE PLACECARD TABLE!- were not framed properly and therefore came out crooked and would require A LOT of cropping before they could even be halfway useable.

The salon I got my hair done at that day, where my bridesmaids came to celebrate with me and also get their updos, was 2.5 miles down the road from our venue. We had EVERYTHING - cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception - at one venue. The studio said that the salon would NOT be part of the package; something we couldn't understand inasmuch as if I'd been dressing at home, marrying at a church, and receptioning somewhere else, they'd have gone along for the ride entirely. However, I was told that the photographer would spend my salon time at our venue, photographing the cocktail hour. That did not happen.

Before I went to the salon, I purposely stopped at the bridal suite and displayed my gown and shoes in a way that BEAUTIFUL pictures could have been taken of them. He DID take pictures of the gown as I'd displayed it on the rack, but with complete disregard for the art of FRAMING A PHOTO PROPERLY, so the gown photos clearly include the ugly metal rack the gown was hung on. I REALLY wanted a photo of my gown to be the cover of our wedding album, but now, that's an impossibility.

While I was "dressing, " the photographer was taking photos of my husband and our groomsmen. He took very few of those photos and they were very poorly thought out with respect to lighting and location. Most of them were awful, and the few that we DID like that had a more photo journalistic feel to them, were taken with that damn infrared camera, rendering them UNUSEABLE! Moreover, the photographer kept coming up to the bridal suite to check to see if I was ready for pictures, and each time we told him we weren't ready yet, he was quite rude and told me we were "running out of time" to get the bridal suite pictures taken. (Sorry sir, but I'm the bride. They're not going to start without me. I don't think we're running out of anything except your very short supply of patience.) Each time we told him we weren't ready, he went back down and took more careless photos of my husband and the groomsmen, all of which are poorly positioned and come across as afterthoughts of someone who couldn't care less about what he was doing. When we announced we finally were ready for bridal suite photos, they were very rushed. He was rude about it and wasn't interested in any of the poses I was trying to get him to take pictures of. KNOWING that we requested a more photo journalistic point of view, I purposely kept making "accidental" beautiful poses, expecting that he'd have been shooting EVERYTHING. He didn't. He even YELLED at my sister in the bridal suite because she had her camera out and HE was the photographer there, NOT HER!

The ceremony pictures aren't good, but they're not awful. The reception photos are just plain awful.

Ladies and gentlemen, you are going to spend at least $1, 000 dollars on wedding photography unless you know a professional photographer personally who wants to do that as a gift to you. PLEASE SPEND YOUR MONEY WISELY. DO NOT USE MJS STUDIOS, or as they're calling themselves now, TIMELESS IMAGE STUDIOS. They are horribly unprofessional and neglect to to the bare minimum you'd expect from a wedding photographer. You'd expect that someone who does wedding photography for a living would grasp that this is the most special (and most expensive) day of your life and would respect that enough to try to capture everything in a beautiful and professional way, and to give the bride and groom exactly what they ask for to the best of his ability. Our photographer did not do that.

YOU CANNOT GET THIS DAY BACK, FOLKS! YOU ONLY GET ONE DAY TO HAVE YOUR WEDDING AND MAKE THOSE MEMORIES, AND ONE DAY FOR THE PEOPLE YOU PAY TO MAKE YOUR DAY POSSIBLE TO DO IT RIGHT. DO NOT WASTE A PENNY OF YOUR WEDDING BUDGET ON THESE PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Also, as a hint/warning, in case these jerks change their name AGAIN... these folks have a contract with David's Bridal, so they sit in David's Bridal locations and pounce on unsuspecting couples. If you ever run into problems, like I did, where you visit their website and it no longer exists, you can find out through David's Bridal what their current name is.

Also, their website is 1800bridal6.com. There is a company out there called Timeless Images Photography, whose website is timelessimagesstudio.com. I cannot figure out if they're the same company, though, because their website is sparse and gives very little information, not to mention that their listed phone number is disconnected.

MJS Studios Scam and cheating

Hi I hired MJS STUDIOS for my wedding in August. Im so sorry that I did but so far no problems yet. But I didn't contact them since i paid. I got them for a nice price as a photographer for my wedding. I got a photographer and a backup photographer, I asked what does backup mean, Does it mean that there will be TWO photographers that day and he said yes. I am hoping its true. Also we filled a contract and gave him 1/3 deposit.

Is there anyway to get a refund before its to late for my deposit? What are some things I can do to prevent a bad situation? What hidden fee's and other stuff do I have to be aware of? Please help me people!

MJS quotes that there lowest package cost $695.00 is a lie. I had an experience when I found out, once they meet with you at the consultation, it comes out to be a way higher cost then what was quoted over the phone..

They have lied about more things then that. I know this for fact. Their definately not as inexpensive as they claim. I chose another photography studio to put my trust in.

Please DO NOT use MJS or Timeless Images photography company. This is their new name now. I got married in 2009 and not only do I not have my pictures, but I can't get a phone call back either! I spent $2000 and I do not know how these people could live with themselves knowing that they do not deliver the merchandise! I even called the photographer that shot our wedding but, he no longer works there because the company stopped paying him! Our photographer was excellent, too bad he got caught up working for those crooked people. I'm interested in pursuing a law suit also because the memories of the most special day of my life are gone! Once they had my money I didn't hear anything from them! They are HORRIBLE and wouldn't give me ANYTHING back...read the contract, it holds them liable for NOTHING!

Well my photographer was late and missed me getting dressed and make up put one. His excuse was he got lost. We booked a year in advance don't you think they would have map quested my house? It was a nightmare. My photographer was rude and his pictures suck. It's been over a year since my wedding and still no album. I have called, left messages, sent emails...and nothing. And now I can't even view my event online, there's a shocker. What is going to have to happen is me bringing them to court. Get out while you can, and by all costs AVOID MJS! I wish I would have known sooner about them.

IT COMPLETELY AMAZES ME THAT MJS IS STILL IN BUSINESS. I am with the gentleman that wants to file a lawsuit. My email is tonydunnier@aol.com. Anyone else who is interested let me know. It is not right that these people are still in business. They should not be getting paid. They are completely taking advantage of the situation. They know people will dish out big money for their weddings and they prey on those individuals. I was married Dec 2008 it is now Aug 2010 and still no album. Eileen, and Melissa are both very unprofessional and will give you the run around. I feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of idiots. Eileen has stated that my package "although she is not sure what is in the package" is being shipped today. I asked her what was in the package and she stated "He says its good", I asked if I could talk to "him" she said "it is not necessary". I asked her if it was the correct album and she said "I'm good" and if it is wrong I can just send it back (rather than just checking the box). They completed generated an entire album after the I spent hours and hours helping to revise the other one, basically laying out each page. Once I agreed and gave written confirmation and was told they were shipping that album, they send me an email 2 months later asking me to look at the album and let them know if it was good. A completely different album, worse than the original that I spent hours revising. I want to know who is the owner or who is in charge. I want to be reimburssed, I think we all should get our money back. As much money as they are making I'm pretty sure they can afford it, because they are not using the money to create high quality products that is for sure. I am in if anyone else is interested.

DO NOT have your pictures taken by these people! They are SO UNPROFESSIONAL and will not work with you. It's been almost a year and I still don't have any pictures! They are rude when I call and everyone that can help "just went on break" or is "in a meeting". I paid all my money up front and still had to pay for the "contemporary" album once I viewed my pictures. The contemporary album was shown to me at David's Bridal as if it were a part of my package, not so! The photographer wasn't bad, but his flash broke and he had camera issues...no backup photographer showed up to help him out with the issue, plus he came from a town that was an hour away so how was his backup supposed to help quickly enough? RUN AWAY FAST, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY AND PRECIOUS MOMENTS.

I attended my aunts & uncles wedding who origanlly hired 'Always Perfect Studios' (which is named pretty ironically) to photograph the big day. They were refered to this company by Davids Bridal. However Always Perfect Studios randomly went out of business and MJS Studios said they would take care of the wedding pictures. Which they were basically better off letting me, a 14 year old girl, take the pictures. The french photographer was told to take 'candid' pictures of everyone, he decided to take this direction to the extreme. He followed all the other bridesmaid and I around the hotel room we were getting ready in with his camera, taking akward shots of me putting on shoes, talking to my younger sister, and just walking around. He also took posed pictures of the groom and best men that included ugly hotel curtains, brown carpets, and my dad's random nike sneaker to add some uh..flair to the backround i guess. He had no idea what he was doing but claimed he had '15 years experience.' The camera he had looked pretty legit, so until we got a look at the pictures, he 15 years experience story was pretty beilevible. Until we saw the pictures. Their was random people in the backround, huge spaces inbetween the groomsmen, & the qualityjust completely sucked. My aunt is also having huge problems getting her pictures back, but after she saw her nieces reactions to them, shes debating if she even wants them back. Thats how badly they suck. MJS studios emailed her apologized for all the inconvience and said they would take care of them for free, but later changed there minds & claimed that she owed them about $800 on top of the $3000 she already paid for. DO NOT hire MJS studios unless you want to have the akwardest wedding album of all time. Not a single picture was centered, & not a single person was aware that pictures were even being taken. Ive never felt less photogenic in my entire life. Once again DONT hire MJS studios unless you have a few grand burning a hole in your pocket or have a thing for embarrassing pictures of relatives. Luckily, for my uncle & new auntie their honeymoon pictures came out amazing, no thanks to MJS studios though.

I was interested in MJS because of their modest pricing...untill I saw this message board! Which photographers would some of you recommend, in or around the same price range? Thanks for the info!
