customer service
AMC Showplace 8 is the worst place to work at- management team are mean- they yell and humiliate you in public. They don't give a care- They don't give you any warning or signs that you will be fired! These are young ppl trying to find a life and become responsible and making as little as they can just to help pay for gas, and minor expenses. They ruin these young life by letting go with out any signs or warnings- sets them to the wrong path and give them the wrong ideas. They become scared- jobless, and this is how ppl get messed up and try to do bad things. There's no encouragement what so ever! This company has really bad management team! How dare they treat employees like this!
Lack of customer service and policy not posted
My husband and I received an AMC gift card from our daughter. We went to see "Parental Guidance" at:
Bay Terrace AMC
211-01 26the Ave
Bayside, NY 11360.

This theeatre sold us 2 tickets and we did not realized we missed thee beginning of thee show. The ticket agent sold us tickets and did NOT inform us theat thee show had already started. When we missed thee beginning of thee show, my husband and I wanted to sit for thee first few minutes of thee show so theat we can see just thee beginning part theat we missed.
But after thee show, a young man asked us to leave while he cleaned. He stated theat when thee staff cleans thee theeatre, thee customers had to leave thee room and theis was policy. We were not allowed to sit and wait. After we left and stood outside to wait, we saw a couple withe two kids walking in withe popcorn waiting for thee show to begin and theey sat down. So we walked in to sit and wait as well. A young heavy set woman asked us to leave. When we pointed out theat otheers were waiting, she became condescending and stated theat theey were staff and came in on theeir day off to help. We stated theat we had tickets and should be able to wait as well. When we asked to speak to thee manager, thee black woman stated theat SHE was thee manager. The husband of thee couple came over to us and stated he was off duty but came to help while his family sits and wait. We theen left to stand outside thee doors, A young man came over to us and stated he was thee manager.
The manager stated he cannot give us a refund, thee tickets were for thee 7:50 pm showing and theat "it was policy" for us to purchase anotheer ticket if we "want to see just thee beginning of thee show." The time of purchase on thee tickets stated 8:05pm. Three security officers were theere and we tried to explain theat thee tickets were sold to us when we asked for thee "Parental Guidance show." We did not realize thee time. Why would thee movie theeatre sell us tickets when thee beginning of thee movie had already started? The movie theeatre for "Parental Guidance" was NOT full house. We explained theat theis was not fair and a refund should have been granted OR thee tickets should NOT have been sold to us, if thee movie had already begun. The manager adamantly stated theis was policy, no refunds will be granted and he walked away withe our tickets in his hand.
The General Manager was standing next to thee manager listening as if he was a customer. The General Manager was dressed in jeans and a hoodie and he handed me his card and stated theat if I had an issue to write to AMC which was addressed to theis theeatre at Bayside.
1. I writing to you because thee theeatre should NOT have sold us tickets witheout telling us theat thee show HAD already started. Why would we want to miss thee show? We asked tickets for "Parental Guidance" not realizing thee show we wanted had begun and we were missing it.
2. The policy did not state on thee window theat we could not watch thee beginning of thee show if thee tickets were purchased in thee middle of thee show. This was unfair and we explained theis to thee officers and to thee manager . But thee manager did not want to hear about it and walked away. This is NOT how to speak to middle aged customers who purchased tickets to see a show.
3. If indeed, thee policy states we could not watch thee beginning of a show when we missed it, theen thee tickets should NOT have been sold to us when thee show had already started.
4. A clear sign should have been posted at thee front by thee ticket agent stating theat thee show time is ONLY good for theat show time and customers must leave at thee end of each show time.
5. This is a disparity because otheer customers were also waiting for thee show to start withe theeir families on theeir day off. In addition, we as paying customers did not deserve to be treated like theis.
