Shaky Business Activity
We purchased a membership to Pacific Dreams with the thought of enhancing our Vacation time in addition to our timeshare ownership in February 2011. We were given a one week vacation certificate in the amount of $500 which we understood as the cost of a condo for a week in this program. Turns out that is for $500 max and not many places in this program are available for $500. We had a hell of a time working our way around their website when we finally went to use our certificate. We called and called looking for help and after numerous calls someone finally called us back adn granted us a 6 month extension and another 30days on top of that and helped us find a unit the suited our needs, for over $1200+ a week, but we figured oh well at least we will get a nice vacation and get $500 back. Well guess what, after booking and paying the $1200+, we could no longer get anyone on the phone at Pacific Dreams directly, reservation assistance only. I called more times then I can count and no one returned my calls. I finally just submitted my request for the $500 credit on my booking along with a letter explaing the delay in booking andd the trouble that we had been having finding anything that matched our needs, along with only being giving 2 verbal extensions and that no one would give me any kind of a confirmation number to write on my certificate...well guess what it came back 4 weeks later as undeliverable, surprise, surprise. I called again and again and about 3 weeks later a woman left a message at my home number with a new mailing address, so I tried again...guess what it came back as undeliverable once again at the new address! I don't know what is going on with this company, but I highly advise you do extensive research to see if this is really what you want to do. We love our timeshares, but feel that this investment might not have been a very good one:( Would hate to think we threw away $4000.00+ dollars for nothing! I have written a email through this complaint site to the top guy at this company at least I hope he still is and will be interested to see if email reaches anyone and if I get a response of any sort. All I can say is do your research like we did when we bought our timeshares and failed to do this time around:(

Bait and switch
When we sat through the presentation ( quite skilled and professional ) we were impressed by the selection of services we would have available to us. They went through (their ) lap top and we viewed various destinations in the USA and abroad. We saw selections in Ca we usually visit and noted the tremendous values on the screen, alas we purchased 6500+, what suckers we are. When we arrived hope and looked through the web site we could not find any values as we saw on their laptop and many areas did not have any services ( resorts, hotels ) we saw on theirs. When we attempt to request services for trips we receive no reply and they have no evening or week end staff to assist. It appers to me that they have laptops programmed for sales purposes only and the customer has no access to the same information. Pleae no not buy into their scams
Supposed deals are a scam
Take everything wrong with Timeshares and their selling practices, multiple by 50, add in a whole lot of nothing for an expensive price and you get Pacific Dreams.
My fiance and I travel quite a bit and have been known to go to time share presentations to get discounted stays or activities now and then. We are used to the high pressure sales and the rapidly decreasing price over time. When we sat in on a presentation by Pacific Dreams in Maui, we didn't realize that a company would outright lie just to get business.
We were warned by the sales person about somebody who had been posting fake scams and ignorantly we bought into it. Like many things it was a while before we had another opportunity to travel and when we went to do so we realized just how big of a SCAM this really is. By this time it was definitely to late to cancel so we're just hoping to help others to not make the same mistakes we did. Remember, for every person who complains there are tens if not hundreds of people who just chalk a mistake up to a bad decision or they don't want to admit to getting scammed. I'll admit it though, we bought it hook, line, and sinker.
We had a three major problems with the service which is why we had to warn others. The least of all is the software. It looks like it is written 15 years ago and it is as hard to navigate as anything i've seen here on the web. Worse is that you can't book trips to any place you would actually want to go. Thinking of a romantic trip to Paris? Not even an option. We weren't able to find any major city anywhere in the world that it allowed. The worst clincher though is even when you find a far off remote place and you are supposed to be getting some great deal, the prices where over twice what we found in a quick 5 second search of accommodations on the web. The one thing they say they are good at, getting great deals around the world and their prices don't even come close to what's competitive.
It is a waste of several thousand dollars for us from this scam. I hope others don't make same mistake!

we too got hooked by p.d and are very unahappy with thier support. we tried for the months to get a condo in phoenix which they could not do. we finally settled on a
hotel that they would support ---booked by them. it was not fit for a dog. we found our own place and apperently it was not on thier list so no crredits availabile.
after working the the bbb in hawaii we are no further ahead. we are still out our money and no better service.

I have read everyone of these complaints. I am even more confused then when I started. After going through these I realized if there is 150k people involved in this and 10 people complaining, thats not an indicator of a bad company.
My Wife and I bought into this company 5 days ago, regretfully it was not the right timing for us and had to cancel. Yes, you did what you intended by posting these blogs...My wife got cold feet because of it. But in final the blogs did not make us cancel, us wanting to buy a new house is what finally did it. If in the future if I have another chance, I WILL BUY INTO IT, I repeat I WILL BUY INTO IT. Everything the blog said about canceling was a LIE. They did not blow us off, Jeff was was completely professional, they have no other complaints. I have been in touch with another couple who actually have it and use it and are happy with it.
So what I'm trying to say is don't beleive all this #*!^ that you are reading. Do investigate for yourself and enjoy life you only have one. You can't take the money with ya!

I am the Director of Sales at Pacific Dreams in Maui. I have made the follow offer to EVERY complaint on this site...
"If you will provide me your name, purchase date and membership number, I will be happy to make the following offer to you. If we are unable to provide you a great value for your very next trip/vacation I will see that you are refunded the money for your purchase. I stand by the product and services we offer. If you will contact me at [protected] I will see that you are serviced well or you receive a complete refund of your purchase. "
To date no ONE person has taken me up on this offer.
For every person who complains there are plenty of people who just accept a bad decisions or don't want to admit they get scammed. The ones who do complain are trying to offer fellow travelers a little help before they get sucked into a scam like some of us did.
I'm not sure about the cancellation. By the time I went to actually use my membership I knew it was way to late. I do know however that the supposed deals they offer are where the real scam is. Not only were my fiance and I unable to travel to any major city as a destination or even a choice for a destination in their antiquated software, but the places we were able to travel to had such huge prices that a 5 second search on the internet would yield a place to stay for half the supposed deal they offer. I don't fault people who unknowingly get scammed by something like this with their high pressure sales tactics and sign on without knowing the truth. For everybody who does check into it though, you have been warned.
They can say 150K people. When I was there, they said 1M people. But you can say anything without backing it up. If you step back and think about it--they make you go without knowing what they're going to present. Then, they want to you commit before being able to go home and research. My thought was if they really had a great software--they'd let you test drive it--say without the ability to purchase. If it worked as advertised, I would have gone back the next day and begged for it.
SCAM
I have been in the timeshare business in Hawaii for 15 years. This company, Pacific Dreams in Maui, gives all timeshare a very bad name. It is a 100% scam. Do not buy, run and I mean run fast from this company. The timeshare adminisrator in Hawaii is working fast and furious to shut them down. What you are paying for is access to a website that cost...
