This society appears to be totally fake. They have no phone number listed on their website. When you use their website to find an "accredited agent" you always get directed to Express Pardons Canada; a company located on the same "Bank Street" in Ottawa. Go Figure. Below is the result I got when I did a search on the Canada Revenue Agency Website that all...

Pardon Society of Canada Shell Company to Promote Express Pardons?

In May of 2011, I sent an email to this organization after doing a lot of investigative work, which revealed a lot of very troubling facts about this organization, and how they conduct themselves. After sending the email twice and waiting 3 weeks, I never did receive any response from anyone in the organization. I ask that you read my email (see below) and then judge for yourself, whether this organization exists to help people find a pardon company to properly assist them, or to simply promote one company above all others.

-----------------------------------
Hello,

I read on your website that your members must offer a money-back guarantee if the pardon is rejected. I can understand this if the forms are completed wrong by the company; then they would have to be redone at no extra cost. However, if the client is not eligible due to not paying a fine or for some other reason, why should the company have to give the person a full refund, after doing a lot of work and paying for things like Court and Police Records?

Also, it says on the Parole Board's website: (http://www.pbc-clcc.gc.ca/prdons/fraud-eng.shtml)

-----------------------

"Fraud Alert!

It has come to the PBC’s attention that some pardon applicants are receiving false and misleading information about the pardons process.

In an effort to better inform the public, the PBC would like to clarify the following points:

Using a third-party service provider to apply for a pardon:

will not guarantee you a pardon,
will not accelerate the review of your application by the PBC, and
will not convey a special status on your application.

Claims that suggest otherwise are false and misleading."

-----------------------

In addition to the above, I did a search for many prominent, long lasting and well-respected Pardon Services companies on your website, but found that none of them were members of your society. However, a company that makes the same false and misleading claims as are listed above, is a member, and seems to be the only member. Of course I am talking about Express Pardons, the company that brought your society to my attention, and which appears to be located on the same block as your firm.

I then did a search to see who owns the domain name you use, but found that information was all private, as was the names of your Board Members... I found those things to be very odd since your society makes claims to "Openly identify the nature, location, and ownership" of each business.

I must now say that I am now questioning your company's role in this entire process, and wondering if your "secret society" with hidden membership fees is legitimate, or if it's just a very elaborate shell company that was created in whole or in part to promote Express Pardons; which seems to be another of the many G0-DADDY websites that pop up, make lots of promises that they can't keep, offer limited time discounts, and then disappear after a couple of years, leaving a lot of greatly disappointed people in their wake.

I eagerly await your response.

Thank you.

And why does their Facebook page only have 1 company on it, which is of course Express Pardons?
http://www.facebook.com/RecordSuspension

And why does their Facebook page have 1 other link to what appears to be another Shell Company selling Express Pardons and The Pardon Society of Canada in a video?

"Regarding your claims that our organization is a "shell company", we are in fact not a company at all, but a registered non-profit society. There are no hidden membership fees."

If this the case then why is there no record of The Pardon Society of Canada on the Canada Revenue Agency website?
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/ebci/haip/srch/basicsearchresult-eng.action?s=registered&k=Pardon+Society+of+Canada&p=1&b=true

And why are there no membership fees listed on the Pardon Society of Canada website?
http://pardonsociety.org/home

And why is it that their FIND AN ACCREDITED PARDON COMPANY page only asks for a person's name and phone number, and no matter who you are or where you live, you always get a phone call from Express Pardons, a company that has a F Rating on the BBB and had it's membership revoked?
http://www.bbb.org/mbc/business-reviews/pardon-services/express-pardons-in-vancouver-bc-1247042
http://pardonsociety.org/find-an-accredited-pardon-company

And why is the Administrative Contact, Technical Contact and Registrar of The Pardon Society of Canada the same as the Administrative Contact, Technical Contact and Registrar for Express Pardons?
http://www.whois.net/whois/pardonsociety.org
http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?k=kokvrXv9lT+fQnsFmi8yaaSvbaZL6sAO&domain=expresspardons.com&prog_id=GoDaddy

CONCLUSION: All signs point to The Pardon Society of Canada as being a shell company created to promote Express Pardons.

The Pardon Society of Canada has all the signs of a fake non-profit organization. See "How to Identify a Fake Charity": http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/171114/how_to_identify_a_fake_charity.html?cat=17

Stay away from these incompetent boobs!
I paid $610 for what they said was an "express service package"
Dillon(the guy that took my money) said this fee was ALL I would ever have to pay.
2 years later I get a package in the mail saying my application was complete and please submit to parole canada with a $612 filing fee
Some express service! My application should have been in parole canada's inbox 1 year before the fee increase from $150 to $612

Dear Mr. Robins,

We hope to put your concerns to rest with this official response by the Pardon Society of Canada.

1. To answer your first question regarding the refund policy:

It is the position of the Pardon Society that Pardon Service Providers should be able to accurately screen whether a potential applicant meets the qualification criteria before taking them on as clients. This criteria is clear and unambiguous and therefore should be clear before the company has to pay for police checks and court documents. There is an important reason for this and that is to avoid the common practice in the industry of saying whatever it takes to get a client's money, without being able to deliver on their promises. This goes hand in hand with our "truth in advertising" policy.

2. The Pardon Society of Canada has more than one member and we are open to any member applications. If any reputable pardon company is not a member, they are certainly welcome to apply at any time.

3. Regarding your claim that one of our members "makes the same false and misleading claims", please forward any and all evidence in your possession regarding this member and we will address the matter forthwith.

4. Regarding your claims that our organization is a "shell company", we are in fact not a company at all, but a registered non-profit society. There are no hidden membership fees.

The Pardon Society of Canada has been organized with three main purposes in mind:

- To represent the industry. To advocate the existence of Pardon Service Providers to all stakeholders, as stewards of guiding principles and practices for the industry.

- To provide a standard of service for clients to measure against and clear complaint procedure, as advocates of client rights.

- To engage the government and government stakeholders in the pardon process, as advocates of the industry.

We trust this puts your concerns to rest.

Regards,

Pardon Society of Canada (http://www.PardonSociety.org)
