i used to pay a woman every week for my order and apparently she didnt pay the company, i found this out by checking my credit score, i paid this in full with her and dont think i should be responsible for this debt seeing i already paid for the stuff i would like for you to take me off that list to try to save me credit it has been a few years now since then so i dont remember her name but she used to collect from me at 201 arnold street second floor. could you please call me or e-mail me my number is [protected]) and thank you so very much.

they oun me money
I order Two piece of furniture from them i got to pay $186.27 for one and the other one i got to pay $203.91..the total is$390.18. I had to wait like 3 months with no merchandise recieved while i was still paying for them to let me know that popular went bankruptcy .That a new company took over and that they oun me such amount of money and they look farward to work with me ..I try to call and login but no respond ..Plus i also have Rewards credits and credits slips mines and also menbers ..I been a Secretary for them since 1994..This is not right.Please help us ...My name is Magda Sanchez..Secretary #is NMY502 In the leter they send me it says they send me a credit slip for i could order new merchandise never recieved it. why not send me a check like they always use to do? Bad Business
I sold populsr club for 15-18 years . I have dividens and rewards points to cash in . Tryed to reach the company by phone and on the web with no results.I am angry that no one from the company reached mein regards to my club. I made alot of money for them and have not been payed the items i should have redeamed for . Angry comsumer.

No one tried to contact me I have credit slips with this company and would like my money. They had no problem taken my money when I brought items, and do you mean that's it. I don't get back my money that is due to me.

I know this is long so thank you for taking the time to read my complaint! I'm just so furious! I have read a lot of the Popular Club complaints! I thought that I was the only one going through this! Popular Club issued me 2 credit slips for orders that I started paying on before I ever got any of my merchandise but I had to call them first to see what the hold up was on my order. They would just say (after I called them many times) that the items were out of stock. I ordered one last time hoping that my items weren't "out of stock" but I still have never received a credit slip or merchandise for this order. This is when I started realizing what was going on with this company! What I did receive though, was a letter stating that I owed them money! I never received any merchandise so why would I ever pay them for something that I didn't receive? I called and told them that they owe ME money, not the other way around! The women said that if I don't pay the $65 that they say I owe, they will turn it in to a collection agency. I refused to pay it! Well, guess what? A couple of weeks ago, I got a notice from a collection agency! I still didn't pay it! I got another notice from the collection agency today! Now, listen to this! I just applied for a department store credit card (my credit has always been excellent-NEVER late for a bill!) and I was denied because of not paying the bill that Popular Club says that I owe-it was listed as an unpaid/past due bill! I am furious and nobody will listen to me! Do I have any rights? I have been a Polpular Club secretary for 20 years! I also have over $400 in dividends/rewards but I can't use them. I don't know what to do about the collection agency but I'm afraid that if I don't pay it, my credit will just get worse. I hate the fact that I didn't get any merchandise and I still have to pay when it's the company that owes ME money! What can I do to resolve this? Popular Club didn't even have the courtesy to let any of us know that they were going bankrupt! Also, the credit slips that all of us are receiving can only be used for new orders! Can you believe they would even have the nerve to say that to us? Unbelievable!
I came across this complaint website when I was looking for something about Popular Club going out of business and I saw that other people had the same complaints as I, so I joined in. Thank you to all that shared your stories!
i have refunds coming back too, , i paid cash and they say because they switched hands i have to take credit slip now my secratary no longer does this, , i want my money i paid and all my dividends redeem.
I contacted the Better Business Bureau in New Jersey in regards to Popular Club. I was informed by them that you could not pursue my complaint as Popular Club went bankrupt. I also was getting letters of payments past due in March & April of this year. I had ordered merchandise & was told it was on back order. After receiving these letters I called & kept a record of the time, date & name of the person I spoke with. On my last call in I was informed that the merchandise was no longer available, I told that person to cancel the order & update my records to show that the order was cancelled. I was offered a credit slip but informed them that I did not want a credit slip as I was not paying for the merchandise. In late June I got another letter stating that my payment was past due. Enough was enough, I again called and was told that I owe the money. At this point I gave the woman the dates, times & name of person I spoke to in regards to these payments. I informed her to go back in the records to check this information out. Unfortunately she was very unprofessional & informed me that unless payment was made that this information would go to collections. I informed her that if any collections agency contacted me or if any negative information from Popular Club showed up on my credit report that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau & also a lawyer. I never heard anything else from them. I don't know what else we can do, I have thought of contacting the Attorney Generals Office in New Jersey. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. As secretaries we need to band together & let this company know that they can not make all the money they made due to our work and then just take the money that is owed to us. Thanks, Elaine

I have been a popular club secretary for over 30 years. I as well as my customers have reward credits to be honord. I am getting no where with this. Wesite is still down. I caltheir numbr and can not get anone whats up?Its not fair that I sold al their merchandise and now Ican not get what is due to me or my customers. What should I do?Does anyone else have this problem withthem? Did they go out of business?Didthey file chapter 11 or swomething...Please help

I have been a Popular club secretary for over 20 years and have experienced the same problems with this company over the last 15 months. I have a credit slip for $24.33(Pink slip) dated December 09, 2008. I also had dividends and credits totalling $136.00 plus. This company should not be let off the hook without settling with its secretarys who have been so loyal to them for so many years. I join my claims and complaints with them and look for compensation. UNABLE TO REACH THEM TO REDEEM CREDITS
I was also a secretary for over 20 years, I have several customers that have been requesting catalogs. I called Popular Club in May of this year & was informed that the website would be up & running come June. After trying to log on to the web site I again called the # listed above only to be informed that the call can't be completed as dialed. I also called Fingerhut who supposedly bought Popular Club & was informed by the person who answered the phone that they did not purchase Popular Club & is in no way affiliated with them. I am now going to call the Attorney Generals Office to find out what I can do to recoup the $700 I have in secretary rewards plus the $200 I have in dividends. I do see a lawsuit in the works. I work in the customer service department & my company would never tell us to lie to customers for them.

I just learned of this and am very disappointed in saving all these credits since 1980's to not have anything. How can companies get away wih such things. If it was a private individual we would be made to make things correct or be punished for it.
I think we have all been scamed, if any of you get any kind of info can you please pass it on. I have a customer with a nice size amount credit slip and I need info to tell her. All secretaries should get together and sue them.
I have a small credit slip, but that's not the point. IT IS MY MONEY! They robbed me.

I too have been a club secretary for over 20 years and was not aware the company was being sold. I have redeemable awards and feel the company should make good on their club secretaries rewards. It is also not good practice to ignore the secretaries and not keep them apprised of what the companies intentions were. We collected money from our customers via our contract with you and have ensured payments were made in timely. It is Popular Club's obligation to pay the secretaries back what is rightfully theirs. What kind of message is being sent out across the US that we can not even trust big companies whom we have supported for years. This in totally unjustified. To me the new company buying the business needs to know the defaulted rewards due the former club secretaries and make good on them. They should not have even been able to buy this company knowing the rewards and credits were still outstanding. I truly believe the BBB should be knocking at some doors in support of the club secretaries who fulfilled their obligations. Club Secretary from Maine
Phone and Web site connections
I have been a Popular Club Secretary for over 25 Years now. And in the last several years since they filed bankrupsy and another company took over there has been no response from the new company that has taken over. Several months ago when I requested a new catolog they told me that they were in the process of getting the catolog together and that they would be sending new catologs out some time in June '09. Since then the web site and the phones have been down and there has been no way of communicating with the company. What happens to the hundreds of dollars in secretary rewards and dividends that I have accumulated over the years that I have earned. Not to mention the members that I have under me that also have dividend rewards to redeem. Have we been taken for a ride! Scammed! I didn't know that Popular Clob went through bankruptcy. I called them to place an order and was told that they were getting a new book ready and they would send me one. If they did go through bacnkruptcy, I have lost my rewards. Can they legally do this. Charlotte in Maine

Can someone help all secretaries who lost money! We invested time and money selling for them. I found out they were bought out from Fingerhut. I called customer service at Fingerhut and they gave me the run around. Lets stick together and get what we deserve.

Terrible experience
I have been a club 'secretary' for popular club for many yrs. Service and variety in the last few years has been less and less. Most recently, I tried to redeem my 'reward credits' (what I've earned selling their merchandise). I called the company after roughly 2 weeks of trying to access the website, to which, I continually got a page that just says, 'temporarily not available'.
I spoke to a service rep to whom I explained that I wanted to redeem reward credit. She responded by saying she couldn't take my order at that time. I asked about the web page and was told, they were getting their new spring catalogs ready and when the catalogs were ready, the website would be back online. I then asked why there were no sale catalogs, to which she got very rude, and told me that they don't do that. Having been a secretary for over 25 yrs on and off, I knew this to be false. I told her that and she got very irate with me. Finally I asked if she could at least give me an idea of when catalogs would come out and the website would again be online. Her reply to this was 'I don't know if it'll be in a couple of days, a couple of weeks or 6 weeks, I have no idea'
I have checked a few times a week every week since then and they are still offline. I worked hard for that money and it looks like now, that I'll never see it. I'm very upset with the company and have filed a formal complaint with the BBB. I would suggest to anyone to not do any business with them.

I have been with popular club for over 20 years .I started having trouble with them about 2 years ago. They gave me the run around for so many things! I kept saying I was going to quit, but they still owed my customers rewards and money.Every time something was returned they me a hard time for months.When the last catolog came out they were selling things they couldn't even get! my customers would be paying for itemes they were never going to recieve. I called them soooo many times trying to straighten things out . All the time they would lie to me, or sit on the phone with nothing to say knowing all the time they would not be refunding anything! The last time I called I was frantic and even had to apologize because I dont normally talk to people that way. They put me on the phone with a manager, she lied just as much!They told me a new catolog would be coming out and everything would be taken care of then.Shouldnt I have been told the truth ? How do I look to all my customers ? if the shoe was on the other foot I would have to pay!
I've been a secretory of the popular clup for almost 16 years, and for the past 4-5 years i never claimed my dividend, so i decided to claim it last year, but when i called the company, the phone didn't work, and I wasn't able to contact anoyone. I tried the website, but it said "Could not connect to the website", and i tried and tried, but it never showed up. My money i spent was wasted, and up to this day, i still havn't contacted them. I am very upset, and I advise everyone not to do any business with them what-so-ever, because i worked so hard to get the dividends.
I have been a secretary for popular club for yrs, and never had as many problems and even complaints from my memebers as I have had in the last yr.. I have been ripped off by popular for memeber dividends and rewards. A memeber of mine was credited over a hundred dollars for merchantdise she payed into and never received I still have the credit slips.. I call nothing no web site .. they just seemed to vanish no responses.. I myself as a secretary of popular club was given junk a surround sound not worth the powder to blow it up.. sent it all back and they sent it back to me even in worse shape than I received it the first time it was nicked up scratched and she told me I am stuck with it... now I cannot get a hold of any one as there are payments still although it is not worth it... I could have went to target and got better for my money even without the so called low weekly payments... I am not sure if popular club will ever be in business again but if they are I am sure they lost a lot of good secretarys and cutomers due to their negligence and poor communication and carelessness!
I want to know why Popular club has not contacted me about their going out of business a card, or something. I have rewards and credit with them. I along with hundreds of other women were never notifief that Popular Club had filed for bankruptcy. How do we recoup the money they owe us after years of being a Popular Club secretary?
Never heard of this company until I got a bill for $ 200.00. They even show a SS#, that isn't mine, nor issued in the state in which I was born. They even got my name wrong, although it could be a nickname that I was called as a child! Anybody know what this "club" is about?
How can this company get away with people's money! This is USA, this should not have happened. We worked for our money and there should be some sort of charges brought against them for stealing from us.
