RBC Bank Overdraft fees

I had a business checking account at this bank. The officer had been telling me for months to open up a business savings in the event i had an overdraft in my checking. i took her advice and opened it up verbally. i still had to go in and sign the paperwork, but didnt have the chance. to make the long story short, $700.00 in overdraft fees later, I come to find out that the savings did not act as an overdraft and RBC will not reimburse the fees. I closed out my savings account, (i had more than enough money in my savings to cover the overdraft) . I have direct deposit 2x monthly, so the overdraft charges were paid for with the direct deposit. They still put a block on my visa check card even though I had paid for the overdraft charges, (which I shouldnt have) and had more than enough money left over. I called customer service, as I needed to use my card for gas to get to work and i could not have the card unblocked until 9am when the branch opened. So, in total, I lost $700.00 plus $300.00 being that i was at work late and lost 3 hours pay. RBC BANK IS A DISGRACE AND RIP OFF! They totally do not have the best interest of their customers in mind.

these people need to change thier name to "ALMOST A BANK" this is by far the worst bank ive ever dealt with in my life, five weeks to get checks, and they come in wrong, flat out lies by employees, stalled deposits, im throwing these checks away and closing the account!

I never knew that RBC Bank charge overdraft fees even if they do not pay the bill for you. I was told if they attempt to pay they can and will charge you if they do decree. I am so fed up with this. I have $370.00 for non sufficient funds. I transferred money from one account to another account within RBC system and it allowed me to do it. Now when I check my account I am told I owe them. I have been decline once before when trying to transfer money the automated system will not allow it to go thru. How did it get thru this time I wonder so many time. When I check my account online I had the money in there if not it would not have gone thru. A SICK WORLD OUT TO GET PEOPLE WHO WORK HARD. I am lost for words how they did not pay not one bill for me and I am charge all this money. I only get paid once a month and that is direct deposit from my job. I am not trusting banks none of them they are a organization about greed

I have been banking with RBC and have had quite a different experience. The staff, at their banking centers and call centers, has been more than accommodating and helpful with any banking needs. In fact, of the many banks I have used in the past, they are by far the best in the realms of customer service. Even though their fee schedules are standards and on par with fees with other banks they are very flexible in refunding the fees when you take the time to call and explain your case, assuming there is reason.

RBC Bank Avoid it at all costs

This bank has horrible customer service. They gave me bad information that cost me $550. When I told them about it, they blamed me and said I should just know how their bank works. I asked them to provide a service that other banks can do in 3 hours. It took them more than 4 weeks! When I call to get them to do basic stuff, they get extremely angry. When I told them I was going to complain to the BBB, FDIC, and the Consumer Protection Agency, they replied "Do what you have to do, I don't care." Here is their official response to the BBB: "We are unable to respond to the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter." This is a terrible organization. Avoid it at all cost.

I am a Canadian who set up a checking account with RBC Bank in the USA. I was maintaining a $700 balance as required to avoid service charges. I wasn't using the account, so apparently it became inactive and they started taking a fee of $10 per month. I received no warning that the account was about to become inactive.
