Refute allegations
This forum should have to be verified in order to avoid slander or liable charges. I have a 3 yr old cat from this breeder and have NOTHING but good to say. But I find that people always want to place blame and ignorance causes damage to the receiving party. If you are so sure that the breeder is somehow responsible, which due to time of your ownership I find very difficult to swallow, then why chose a slanderous forum? I would hire a lawyer prove my findings and have it shut down. That's my opinion. I did a lot of research prior to my purchase, I visited the Cattery on 3 seperate occasions, I was told very specific care instructions and have been happy for 3 years with my decision. Also if any of the vets in any of these cases were sure the Cattery or breeding program was at fault shouldn't they have at minimum a moral obligation to investigate? These cats are GENETIC MUTATIONS to begin with and when you accept that responsibility you accept that there are things that no one including vets can predict. I am just amazed to see grown adults trying to place blame on a breeder for any animal that has been removed from the Cattery. And to those who think there should be a guaranty, why ? People would use that for an excuse when proper care is not given. If all the required vetting is done in a timely manner then there is a problem it is the breeders problem. However after what point does it become soley the owners or gods responsibility? ### happens whether through intent or ignorance and to belittle and mistreat someone's lively hood is just ridiculous to me. These cats are hyper sensitive and need to be treated as the mutations they are, so to place blame on the breeder is just crazy to me. Do your due diligence, see for yourself, and then make an informed choice. Because until I see concrete evidence of deliberate negligence on the breeders part to me it is all slanderous and liable claims. Sincerely cris gagne very proud owner of sleek cats Dante
I am still trying to find the posts from donnas breeder friends that were name calling and insulting the original poster. I can't seem to find that info, so if anyone can point me in the right direction I would love to see those posts. Because if I am included in that group because I chose to defend Donna, I want to read what others wrote as I am not a breeder friend or a social friend I merely purchased a cat from a good breeder. I did all my research, looked at another Cattery, never relied on the Internet, and made a well informed decision to buy from Donna. She provided more than enough info and has always answered my calls, emails, and any question I had.
To slynn1 yes everyone has the right to an opinion and you spent all that time making a statement that seems to be in response to my comment but failed to answer my question or acknowledge my statements. So the only thing you addressed was closing a cattery which was the least of the issue i commented about. I understand how heartbreaking any loss is and to suggest i dont is kind of ignorant. But thank you for your info
Bad Breeder
AVOID THIS SPHYNX CAT BREEDER I am sharing my experience and Zeke's story in hopes that it may save someone else the heartache and pain myself and my family went through with the painful loss of baby Zeke. I got Zeke at the end of November 2012, because I fell in love with my brother and his girlfriends' canadian sphynx, Normand. We were all roommate...

I have never bought a cat from her, so I cannot attest to the condition of her cattery. My experience with a breeder was excellent, and it was so positive I bought another cat from the same breeder. Both cats are beautiful, but one does have allergies, but I knew that when I got her. Besides that she is healthy, and has a friendly disposition for a Bengal, both are a bit dramatic concerning their wet food. My comment was made in general, just saying that shutting down a cattery is impossible. Google bad cat breeders and you will see some have multiple complaints. I do not think this particular breeder does, but at least in California there is a horrid women illegally breeding cats, and the animal control is the Humane Society! They have only bothered visiting her one time! Also, read some of the reviews on this board and the replies from the breeders. One lady had a reason to be upset about the condition of a cat she had bought for breeding rights for. The kitty had a extremely bad heart murmur. Though I think the women complaining is horrible for just feeling her cat is a commodity, instead of a living breathing being, and how blase she was about returning the kitty; the breeder basically had her breeder friends attack her, her personal life, call her names, and to me it was disgusting! By all means they all just thought their cats as money, not as beloved animals. If I was researching and came across that thread I would not buy from any of them. I am glad your experience was as good as mine. We are lucky, because it does not always work out well for other people.
It is hard to close a cattery, check out the thousands of complaints about horrid breeders. It is nearly impossible to shut down these down, it is private property. In some states, such as Arkansas, that have few laws concerning puppy/kitten mills. Even in California, there are several horrible unethical breeders that still in business, with little or no interference with whatever animal control organization. Maybe you should do more research on how hard it is to shut down a cattery. Usually this type of disease has many factors, and a rarely is there only one cat that suffers from this. It has many factors. Just because your experience was wonderful does not mean that another customer was not. It is heartbreaking loosing a cat. How would you feel if your at died of a horrid painful disease? Before you judge what someone's experience, maybe you should think how it would feel to loose your kitty. I have lost felines, and I still mourn for them. People are have the right to express their experiences with breeders, and potential clients can decide for themselves if they want to adopt from them. In all honest, if you read some of the heartless replies some of the breeders, it makes my skin crawl that they breed animals. Some are childish, immature, cruel and my heart breaks for their profiting off such beautiful creatures.
