HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I was subjected to unacceptable service and treatment by them.
I wanted to book my international tickets through them on a specific date and was told they will be able to do it for me. I kept sending them almost daily reminders given that the ticket prices on the dates i was planning on travelling was very expensive. I was repeatedly told not to worry and everything was going as planned. After a week, they suddenly told me that the tickets werent available and i needed to pay an extra 200$ for the fares.
When i questioned them on this, the travel agent showed unbelievable attitude saying since she has 10 years experience in the business and i needed to show courtesy for her efforts etc. Then when i formally sent in a complaint to their company saying i will have to write reviews about them on yelp or other websites, following are 2 mails i got as response.
"If you have one bad review written, I will have more than 500 of my clients write reviews about me, and your review will never be reviewed"
and 2nd email said
"Go ahead and write bad reviews. Spread the word
You review is not going to break our business."
I am quite shocked at the attitude and service shown by sunnyvale travels and i urge you to take my complaint seriously.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Pathetic and disgusting service
This is to report the pathetic experience I have had with Sunnyvale travels. A couple of weeks ago I needed to book a ticket to India. At the time of booking, I was advised to fly via Cathay Pacific as it was supposed to be cheaper and have the same level of experience as Singapore Airlines. Also it was informed that the flight could easily be rescheduled. However, later on when I actually needed to reschedule the flight, I was told that it cannot be done on all days as the airlines only flies on 3 days of the week and not every day. What is surprising is that they did not consider it necessary to inform their passengers of the complete flight restrictions and try to do a hard sell of Cathay. On top of it, the agent involved retorted back suggesting that she had suggested Singapore Airlines. As I did net-surfing , I came across a similar complaint filed by somebody earlier and I thought I should highlight the poor/rude behavior of Sunnyvale Travel agents.
Thanks,
Proneet.
I totally agree on the rude behavior and the poor service of the representatives. They obviously have no knowledge of how to talk to customers and appear disinterested in doing any business since they hardly respond to your calls mails. To share my experience and not mentioning any names I'll even mention who the rude representative is - she is a family member of the owner of this travel agency as they go by the same last name. Once when I had the person create an itinerary for me and I had to change the return date she responded with a tone that suggested annoyance that she had to go through the trouble of changing it and on the same call made a dig at my last name (which didn't seem funny to me). From that day onwards, whenever I am asked by my friends and relatives for a travel agency i make sure to advise them against approaching this agency. I also found it funny that the owner of the agency once posted a mail to a similar complaint site asking them to remove the complaint as it was 'hurting' their business. I'm glad that's happening.
p.s - In total contrast to Sunnyvale, Baba Travels (also in CA, USA) is genuinely responsive and they give you good deals, AND YES, they are polite too..

Comment: Odenza/Star Rebates operates a Ponzi scheme out of 4664 Lougheed Highway #230, Burnaby BC V5C-5T5. The owner is named Sodi Hundal and the Manager is Darren Single. The Phone number is [protected]. They sell rebate vouchers for gasoline, cruises and groceries to unsuspecting charities and merchants who then sell them as fundraisers or use them as marketing tools to draw in new business. The consumer then must register the voucher and pay a fee. The consumer then must save receipts and send them in for a Visa/MC gift card. Problem is, the company never sends the cards. Odenza/Star rebates keeps the money from the merchant and the registration fees from the customers. If you complain often enough, they may send you one or two cards, then they stop sending them again. If this does not define ponzi scheme, I don't know what does?
The authorities should also be alerted...
Here is a link about Odenza marketing/star rebates who are based in Burnaby BC but have "shell companies" in the US. This appears to be a Ponzi scheme. Just Google "Odenza, Star Rebates, Ripoff, scheme" and you will see what I mean.
They also operate out of San Diego Ca and Seattle WA
here is a link to a story about this company out of Seattle:

if the link doesn't work go to KIRO-TV in seattle and put Star Rebates in the search box...these companies are pure ponzi scheme...
They also ingore inquiries from the BBB in both Canada and the USA...hence the F Rating
