MIsrepresenting their service
We were hood winked by the THC about 5 years ago. They are not what they present themselves as, the availabilty of accommodation is nothing like what they say and the effective cost is much higher. We were given the impression at the seminar that 20, 000 points per annum would give us 2 weeks holiday a year at a Quality Resort. No way this is the reality, a quality resort will cost more like 40, 000 to 60, 000 and more points per week. We can book our own holidays cheaper and easier each year than the cost of the yearly membership. When we tried to cancel our membership we were told we cannot cancel we are locked in for years. I'm ready to be part of a class action or to go to the press to expose this organisation for what they really are.

I would be hapoy to be part of a class action towards this
We were informed by an employee that the "team" is provided with winning and loosing tickets so they can get their best prospects in to the sales staff.
Unfortunately we found this out too late. Very slick sales team but we still haven't seen any value..
I'm not sure they should be legal and definitely need investigation by consumer affairs or the like

Hi,
I received a gift from my boss for a 7 day trip to Clarens, this gift was for my hard work and a token of appreciation, but it turned out to be a nightmare, since we landed we did not have a nice stay, Glen Keur a sales rep, seemed nice and asked us about ourselves where we come from ect, , then in our conversation he learned that we sold our house, in his mind he thought this is a great deal because they getting money that’s when he started “harassing us” can’t put it in a better term because that’s what happened, we told him three times we can’t afford this but he assured us that it’s worth it, he gave us an amount and told us that’s the only amount we need to pay and then we can go on holiday for the next 20yrs free without any charges, and we were fools enough to believe him but still we told him we will think about it, he made our holiday so distasteful that we left 2days earlier, this you can check up with your Clarens branch,
When he sold us this package we did not take it that same day we told him we will think about it, but he went on even send one of his consultants to hear what we decided, we told him we not taking it, he went back to Glen and told him we not interested and then he made his means to come to our unit to come see us again and basically forces us to take it, only the following day we went down and my husband signed, also he told my husband to initial next to everything and that he doesn’t still need to read cause it’s just formality and straight forward, getting home we still wanted to cancel and we could not get hold of this ### by email phone or cell phone.
I read the contract yesterday and I learned in section F that we had the option to cancel within 5 working days and also we were suppose to get a copy of the contract which we didn’t, why because Glen knew the minute we leave the place we would cancel that’s why he withheld it from us because we would read through ALL the points, what I also notice that is interesting is the fact that he scratched out section R where we can cancel in 12 months if we not happy, clearly this was not a honest deal and this you can see, and if this is the way you train your staff to steal from innocent people then they are wrong, we all are trying to survive in this bad economy we living in,
Firstly I want to say that it was wrong for us to take up the following package and sign without demanding to read first and get a second opinion but we were not given or allowed a chance that’s why a copy was not given to us, A BIG ERROR ON YOUR SIDE, he just wanted us to sign up so he could steal our money and knowing that we are binding ourselves for the next 20 years to something we did not plan, but let me assure you we were not told of any additional yearly cost as were already reluctant to take it up in the first place, Mr Glen Keur made everything sound very nice and interesting, also my husband said that some documents was send to us by post which we never received, he called Glen numerous times when we came back on his work phone and cell but he would not answer ignoring our calls,
With his knowledge he would know that we sold our house planning to buy a new one and we would need money for the transfer to go through to pay the attorneys but yet he forced us to take the package so he could get a commission,
They tell you that because they know it is almost impossible to get rid of a timeshare by selling it on eBay or anywhere. There are many other ways to get rid of an unwanted timeshare, and you don't even need their help. I'd suggest you to read this article with more solutions on how to get rid of a timeshare;
