The Home Decorating Company Don't shop here

I bought a Croscill Fiji comforter, sheet set and decorator pillows. Most of the order was on back order but I was billed immediately. I was sent the wrong item, and I have not been able to make phone contact to discuss returning the item. Emails are met with an auto message and a "please contact us during business hours. If you are unable to get thruough please leave a message with phone number and we will call you back." Uh, there is no opportunity to leave a message and I have provided my contact number in my emails. The phones are always busy. Maybe a lot of unhappy customers are calling and that is why the phones are busy.

The shipping department is a joke. Wrong zip codes on packages. One package sent to Florida instead of Arizona. Customer service. Zero.
I will purchase a second sheet set and the pillows and towels from another company.

I would not recommend this company. Buyer beware.

Had a problem when manufacturer sent me the product but I called customer service and everything was taken care of. Thank You for your timely help and customer focus regarding my order.I appreciate the outstanding service from Yankee Retail and fast resolution.

The Home Decorating Company Don't waste your time or money

Beware of the Home Decorating Company, an "authorized" online retailer for many bedding and home decorating companies. Their parent company is The Yankee Retail Company.

I placed an order for bedding from Yankee Retail on Feb. 4, 2009, and became concerned when two weeks had passed and I didn't receive the products. When I contacted the company they said it was due to ship in May. I canceled the order and requested a refund. They said it would appear on my card in 7-10 days.

Don't reputable retailers charge your card when the order is shipped! Who in their right mind would pay for a product in February and be willing to wait 4 months to receive it.

Don't buy from Yankee Retail or The Home Decorating Company (www.home-decorating-co.com). You may never see your order or your money again.

The Home Decorating Company Horrible service

I ordered a bedding set for my daughter. They immediately took the $179.99 charge on my VISA on 3/4 but said the item was due to ship the week of 3/21. On 3/25 I called regarding the order and was told it would be another few weeks. I got a feeling that I got scammed so I called Roxy. The representative told me that the item was discontinued. Since I felt I was scammed, I called to cancel my order. I called at 12:13 PDT and hung up at 2:00 PDT. I was in the queue for customer service but NOONE picked up. I did this purposely so I could have that huge time period on my cell phone bill. Merchants agree with VISA that they will NOT charge their customers until the item SHIPS. When I finally was able to cancel the order, I was told that it would take 16 DAYS to process. Given the timeframe, it would have pushed me over the 30 day limit to file a dispute with VISA. Once that happens, they would have been able to keep the $179.99. They processed my refund promptly when I told them I would turn them into VISA. I wish I hadn't done that since I filed the dispute paperwork and they could have been in trouble with VISA, possibly getting their VISA merchant account revoked. Alas, I will still file all of documentation with the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut. SOMETHING IS ROTTEN WITH THIS COMPANY.
