Mortgage modification
Got a letter in the mail regarding a loan modification called and Way Point Law Group called me back they said they could get me a modificaton and under Obama's new program we are qualified so we spoke a couple of times Sam Morgan even told me and gave us a letter stating that if they are unable to do the modification by law they have to give us our money back so we fedexed the paperwork and the check to the above address and Sam called and confirmed that they received it, he said it would take 3 - 4 weeks so after that we never heard from him again, so we called and emailed and the phone goes right to voice mail and no one ever calls us back. So I filed a claim with the Santa Aan FBI and also on their website at www.ic3.gov and
hopefully these crooks will be stopped. I paid these people $1, 250 to
do the modification so I know I will never see that money again.

Home Loan Modifcation/Scam
We have had the misfortune of losing almost two thousand dollars to "Way Point Law Group" They will not return our calls. We have a one hundred percent guarantee from this company if their services are unsatifactory, how do you collect on a non-existing company?
I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau in Irvine CA, and gave them their last know address. I also called Irvine Business registrations and they are not listed with them, I was instructed to call the Federal Trade Commissions, to which I learned it is against the law for ANY ONE TO COLLECT MONEY IN ADVANCE IN PURSUANT TO HOME LOAN MODIFICATIONS AS THIS IS FEDERALLY INSTITUTED AND SUPPORTED. IT ALSO HAS BEEN PASSED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AS OF OCTOBER 6, 2009 ILLEGAL FOR ANY BUSINESS OFFERING SERVICES FOR HOME LOAN MODIFICATIONS TO COLLECT MONEY BEFORE THE LOAN MODIFICATION IS COMPLETED. PLEASE CALL THE FEDERAL TRADES COMMISSIONS OR CHECK ONLINE AT WWW.FTC.GOV FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. Residents in California, please call your local Better Business Bureau for this new law and all that it entails.
Further more, I will be filing a report with my local police, call my State Attorney General's office and will do what is necessary in pursuit of these criminals. There is also for those who are misfortunate to have experienced loss at your time of need for help to keep from losing your home and anything else during this economic crisis we are facing, other aides. I have found that you can file a complaint to a website that is monitored by the FBI and this website will allow you to file a complaint and will in fact give you a registration number. This website is www.ic3.gov.
I think if more people that have this experience or near experience, if they will follow through with notifying their local Better Business Bureau and file a complaint and if necessary by taking it a step further if you suspect that you have been approached by a scam who in fact is a criminal, we can stop this to a trickle at best. Historically, when there is a crisis it brings the thugs and crooks out to take advantage of the defenseless.
I hope this will help someone from making the same mistake we did. Before giving anyone any of your personal information, do some research! You DO NOT HAVE TO PAY UP FRONT FOR HELP for a home loan modification! Maybe starting with your bank that carries your loan would be the best starting point.

New Century Solutions was named in a 'shutdown' order filed Dec. 18, 2009 by the Orange County Superior Court, a copy here:

Their offices were raided, with some saying the black suburbans had DOJ written on the sides, and others saying FBI was on some of the jackets... 2 local police cars, and all the employees told to go home... milling about in the parking lot.
They (New Century Solutions, Inc.) shared the same address with Green Credit Solutions, Guardian Credit Services, Curtis (Curt) Melone, Christopher (Chris) Fox, as can be seen in the Court Order.
The 'interim' Court Orders were made permanent in a hearing on Jan. 13, 2010 which they failed to attend.
Mathew Padilla of the Orange County Register DID attend:

Files and computers seized, bank accounts frozen... a fine mess.

We called a number that was given to us saying that this group called Way Point Law Group can help us do a modification on our mortgage, and that the process was going to take approximetly 120 days. They called us once and also the mortgage co. which is Wells Fargo. We try calling them to see what is the status of our modification and first this girl the is the "operator" first of all is so rude transfer you with out letting you finish telling her what you are calling for, and of course get nothing but a an answering machine, which they never return your phone calls. Way point if you are reading customers concern please follow up with the customer because us personally are beginning to take that this is a whole scam. We paid you guys about $3, 500.00 for this group to fight with the mortgage co. and we haven't heard nothing from you.
