In late November 2010, I started talking to "Faith" about adopting 2 puppies that were rescued. Faith told me how cute the "Boys" were and how they were going to be neutered and microchipped before they could be delivered. I spoke to someone in the vets office on the day of the neuter and was told that there were 8 dogs of hers there that day and no...

Wendy Faith Laymon purchased sick English Bulldog

My husband & I purchased a sick English Bulldog puppy from Wendy Faith Laymon in 2008. We noticed green mucus on her nose & mouth when we picked her up at the airport. Our vet diagnosed her with kennel cough which quickly turned into pneumonia. Unfortunately, although she was admitted to the vet for 2 weeks, she still had to be put to sleep. She was gasping for air at that point. We didn't even have her for 6 mos. We were heartbroken & still are. She gave us another puppy about a month older than the first. She was presented to us with overgrown nails & a red rash all over her stomach. Two weeks later she showed signs of giardia, blood in her stool. After antibiotics, she was fine. She is doing good today. Despite my efforts with Missouri's Humane Society, I have noticed this so-called breeder is still in business with selling puppies!

This is the name that Wendy Laymon is now breeding under after abandoning the sites Frenchiebabies and Webfrenchies. She has not stopped breeding for three years as ordered by the USDA, she is currently selling 14 or more puppies any given time Next Day Pets under a site called A French Bulldog.

First off google the breeder's name Wendy Faith Laymon. Also call the missouri department of agriculture and they can tell you theirselves what kind of person she is and what kind of puppy mill she's running.

We recently purchased a puppy from her and spent 1800 plus 300 for shipping. "Faith" informed us he is completely healthy and has no problems. Upon recieving him, we found out the first week he is COMPLETELY deaf. After some research, he wasn't the only deaf puppy she's sold. He also had Giardia (an intestinal bacteria they get from being in dirty places) Kennell Cough, blood in his urine, yeast in his ears, AND came down with Demodectic mange!
Everything is treatable (except the deafness) but we were furious that she never told us ANYTHING! The deafness, and mange are genetic from his mother and father, so she is not breeding healthy dogs.
Other than his health issues, she sent us an unsterile microchip that looked like the needle casing was chewed up by a dog, with the akc registration papers torn up as well. There were no papers with his vaccines or his pedigree.
When we tried to tell Faith about all of these conditions, she tried to make up a number of excuses. Then she tried avoiding our calls and refused to return our messages. It got SO bad that we had to contact a lawyer.

When you spend all this money on an "akc show potential dog" you expect it to be an AKC Show potential dog. Now we cannot breed him or show him even if we wanted to because of his genetic defects.

Like I said research her name Wendy Faith Laymon, and call missouri's department of agriculture. Also look up Missouri's dirty dozen! You will find her on there.
We need to shut her down, she is breeding dogs with bad health!

I RESCUED a dog from this woman! I AM SO ANGRY that I dismissed the red flags. Apparently this same woman is the woman that presented herself as the "fostermom" for rescueafrenchbulldog.com. What a horrible thing to do. Like I said redflags had come up here and there and I guess the fact that there was a dog in need blinded me enough to dismiss these fishy things that were happening. This woman does not care a thing about these dogs, I was lucky that Frankie only came with long fingernails, a pretty bad ear infection and an upper respitory infection. However, he was so scared and traumatized, had never been on a leash, walked on stairs, I don't think he had seen furniture or even been in grass the way he reacted. He was terrified of being fed or even going #2. The vet said he had metal shavings all over his teeth from where he had been biting and chewing at a metal crate for a very long time. I am so angry I helped contribute to the continuation of this woman's actions and "rescue" but at the same time, I feel so grateful that I have Frankie in my possesion now, but how many other dogs are being tortured like this, what can we do how can we stop her!

I purchased two dogs from Wendy Faith Laymon. While the problems weren't immediately noticeable, both had issues caused from what can only be serious in-breeding. They both had allergies and hip dysplasia, which some may say is normal for French Bulldogs. However, the extreme auto-immune deficiencies our poor Baxter had could have only been caused by in-breeding, so severe they caused us to have to eventually put him down. Despite all of our efforts to correct his auto-immune disorder -- weekly allergy shots, steriods, antihestimines, antibotics (all in all about 14 pills a day) -- we simply couldn't fix him and couldn't stop the severe itching. Our next phase of treatment would have been aggressive steriod treatment which both our vet and vet dermatologist agreed would kill him within 6 months from organ failure. Baxter was so sweet and he didn't deserve any of the harships he had to endure in his life due to bad breeding. And all I can say is that no one should be faced with putting down their 4 year old puppy because the dog breeder didn't care enough. Luckily our other frenchie's issues have not manifested in the same way that Baxter's did and she will hopefully be able to live a longer life. This woman should not be selling animals and most of all people should not be purchasing from her.

I luckily did not purchase a dog from this woman, but I nearly did. She is now operating frenchiepuppies.com out of Mo. I was getting ready to buy a dog from her, and I saw nothing bad about this site, so I thought everything was ok. When I lost her e-mail, I went to the contact page and it had the name Wendy Faith Laymon. I recognized the name from several complaint boards, and obviously decided not to purchase the puppy. I feel terrible for the animals, and I would love to rescue them, but I refuse to support a person like her through purchasing an animal from her.
She is listed on a site called the Missouri dirty dozens and listed as still licensed in that state. I realize that people already know about her, but I wanted to warn those that are looking at the site frenchiepuppies.com!

In 1998 I worked very closely with PAWS to get this horrible excuse for a woman shut down. She resided in WA for many years and ran a puppy mill. Often times Her dogs were delivered to unsuspecting owners sick. She lied about papers, lied about pedigree, lied about where she lived, lied about how many dogs she actually had. She was getting most of these dogs shipped to WA from Missouri, where apparently she is now living. Wendy was fined thousands of dollars and has been convicted of numerous charges and yet she manages to skirt the system; she's a master manipulator and master fraudster. She's made many hundreds of thousands of dollars selling puppies that she didn't care about in the least. Wendy has been doing this for decades and as long as the laws in the state that she resides in are weak she will continue to do so. She's a mother of 2 children and I'm sure they will follow in her foot steps. She shouldn't be allowed to be responsible for anything living, period!

USDA licensing is not required by breeders except for commercial breeders. A 3 year USDA ban means that the breeder cannot sell puppies at auctions, wholesale, etc.
