Harassment & threats
On Sept. 27th, 2011 I received numerous phone call to my workplace from a man named Mr. King saying he was calling from WP Group & Associates in regards to a civil lawsuit that was going to be put against me if I didn't settle with him TODAY. And that the sheriff would show up to my job to serve me if I didn't comply. I felt threaded & harassed by Mr. King who has jeopardized my job due to all the threats & calls. He was rude & & didn't want to work with me or accept my minimum punt that I offered.
Threatening phone call
Got a heads up call from a process server that this company was after me. I called the company and spoke to a man named Alex. He told me he was an attorney representing a creditor. He said that I owed a certain amount of money and that I had to pay a portion of that by the end of this month. He said I had to give him a credit card number today or the deal was off. I told him that I wanted to speak to an attorney and he told me I couldn't; that he was running the show, that I wasn't calling Burger King. It was his way or no way. He further stated that he could take me to court any time he wanted to. He further stated that if I didn't give him a credit card number today the deal was off. This violates the FDCPA and I am going to send this to the BBB and the consumer division of the attorney general of Florida.
Very rude
Week prior to this date Nov 29, 2011, a woman name Alexis C. called to my home from [protected] who talked to several of my family members instead of to talking to me, since I was out of town. She stated that I owed a total of 44, 000.00 dollars. Not knowing what to think, my family called me and I told them to tell her I would call her back when I returned on this Tuesday Nov 29, 2011. She stated that it would be too late and that I didn't make a payment for 3000.00 that day, she was sending a sheriff with a supeona for court.
When I did get back to my home on Tuesday, I called and she told me that I owed the money on a bad loan. I told her that I didn't owe 44, 0000.00 and that it could possibly be a much smaller loan that was written off. She stated I was still liable. I told her that my being on Social Security, I could never pay off any loan and if even If I did pay, it would have to be 10 or 15 dollar a month. She laughed and said she could get a lot more than that from me or my assets. I then asked her to do what she had to do, because I didn't have the money. She said she would seize my assets, I told her I only had my home and that it was homestead. She proceded to get angrier & louder and I ask her not to be calling my home anymore and she stated that she would be sending the sheriff to my home.
I then look on-line for that phone number and seen there were plenty of complaints of harrassment on that phone from many individuals displaying Alexis C. and several other individuals with Western Performance Group. I searched through the CA BBB and somehow got to this form about complaints. I also called the [protected] to see if Alexis C. actually worked there, some man, I think his name was Bill said yes and was trying to transfer me, I hung up because I didn't ask him to transfer me. He called me back a few minutes later and asked if I was the one who called and if I was playing games, I told him I did call but just to find out if Alexis C. worked there and he called me a ### and hung up on me. I do not want this company or any one associated with them calling me at home or on my cell phone and giving information or asking any questions to any member in my family.

Called with threats of lawsuit, pay garnishment, ect., also called my parents to advise them of my pending lawsuit! Demanded $1, 937.14 on an account that I never had. Tried to tell him I never had this account and did not know what he was talking about. Would not discuss or give me any info, he just wanted his money. This man was CRAZY! Finally told him I would see him in court.
The practices of this company are deceptive and are not legal. A collection agency may not call you at work if you tell them you are not allowed to receive calls there. They cannot speak to someone other than you about your case. They cannot mis-represent themselves as this company clearly does. If you receive a call from this company file a complaint with the FTC.
This jerk Ernie called state govt offices and when I called him back and told him this debt had repeatedly been disputed, he told me not to call him back again. HELLO you mess with me and then tell me not to call you back!
So with all these complaints has anyone gotten some good advice on how to stop this crap! I don't know who this scam artist is but need to put a stop to it.
They threatened and attempted to intimidate me. I contacted the Attorney General of both my State and California. They will proceed if they receive enough complaints. Please contact them.
