car loan
I purchased a new 2008 GMC Envoy from Reliable Chevrolet in 2012 Me and the wife have now paying on this car since! They still claim we owe over 7000 don't you think they have committed fraud after 7 years? We have been paying $287.00 a month for 7 years and we put $8, 000 down. It is time that this car should be paid off! The original charge was around $26000.00 in 2014 we transferred the account over to Communication Federal Credit Union now I and the wife do believe this is way more than it should be.
vehicle loan
Please be advised that I had an account with Santander because I bought my vehicle on a loan. On July 16, I had an accident and my car with totaled (completely destroyed). The insurance company paid $11, 360.00 to pay-off my vehicle and then the GAP insurance paid $2, 832.15 to cover the remaining balance.
Still, I show a remaining balance of $406.59 and I talked with the customer service and she said I need to pay $106.82 tomorrow otherwise it will accumulate more interest on me each day.
I am totally frustrated and I need help, I asked them to allow me to pay $20 - $25 each month but they refused. I am single woman and head of household. My income doesn't allow me to take all this risk.
refinance loan/warranty cancellation/expected refund.
I purchased a vehicle from Carmax which was financed through Santander USA.
I have since refinanced that vehicle and cancelled the extended warranty that was purchased at the time of initial purchase.
Once the warranty was cancelled the refund I am entitled too that is a substantial amount has been forwarded to Santander to be returned to me by the warranty company.
At this time, Santander has been in receipt of this money since 9/11/2018 and every time I call wanting to know when I can expect receipt of these funds they tell me they have no idea what I am talking about. They have no record of this money ever being received in their office. I have called all parties involved multiple times and Carmax has been of assistance as much as possible. However, Santander places your call in a vicious cycle of call prompts and non-english cultured personnel who are at odds as to where to transfer you, how to help you or what to do if you are lucky enough to get through to someone. No one is able to put me through to the accounting department who is suppose to have been the recipient of this refund or able to tell me a phone number to this department. I feel like at this point that my money is being deliberately withheld and that it will not be refunded to me as promised.
Lesson learned. I will never purchase an extended warranty again and buyer beware if you are thinking of financing anything through Santander.
My loan with GMAC was sold to Santander I too was ahead in payments. I had a life changing event and they required a death certificate to prove my husband passed. I had to send 3 then months later I stopped receiving my invoices so called in. Lady indicates they were reviewing my account and did not need to make a payment until further notice. Totally forgot about it for months then called in wanting to check out situation. At that point my call was transferred to a Mr. Sanchez who began berating me for not making a payment for over 6 months this. Explain call he indicated I was telling a falsehood and they record all calls. Where I told him great and gave him approx. Date I called. He demanded 3 months of payments be sent to him. I argued fact I was paid ahead several months he told me he would review tapes. Then call me back making disbelief comments on people like me I asked to speak to his supervisor which he indicated he was head of department and there was no one else. He then gave me a direct number to his desk. After a week with no calls I called back 3 x attempting g to talk with him leaving messages to no avail. I was never contacted and my loan as I recently found out was defaulted and gone against my credit for an amount larger than what I owed.
checking account false advertising
I recently opened a new checking account with a cash reward bonus based on a 90 deposit and debit activity. I made the required deposits and debits and also processed a direct deposit request with my employer and they completed the pre-authorization note - this is a best practice of a zero deposit for the first deposit and a hard check is cut - which I then deposited. Santander is now denying me the $250 new account reward. I have filed two complaints and there has been no consideration given to me. My employer is truly shocked by the lack of customer service -they have a branch on campus and handle our entire institutions payroll and banking for staff, faculty and students. So incredibly disappointed in how I have been treated.
frank kent country chevrolet
Santander Team,
I just wanted you all to be aware I am currently in a civil lawsuit with Frank Kent Country Chevrolet in Corsicana Texas. My name is Ryan Coe from 106 Surrey Drive, Boerne TX 78006. My lawsuit is for 3 reasons:
1. They made me buy GAP insurance because they said you all as the lender required it to be purchased for credit approval.
2. They increased the sales price on the contract after the fact.
3. They charged $2, 000 for warranties that they said came with the car.
I am emailing you so you know how they represented you all above in #1 as they did. I feel you should know how this dealership is defrauding people while representing to their clients with low credit scores that your entity is requiring the GAP insurance for credit. I just felt you all should be notified and my case is set for trial October 18, 2018 in Ft. Worth.
Sincerely,
Ryan Coe
vehicle sales and continual harassment
I bought a 2013 Nissan Versa from Honda World in Westminster CA. I told them that i couldn't afford the 400.00 a month payment plus the 50.00 a month gap insurance that they stated was essentially because I was financing the car. They gave me Santander Consumer USA as my finance comp. They explained to me that I would pay this 450.00$ a month payment for 6 months then then I could get my car refinanced to make my payments 200.00 a month. Then when the 6 months was up and I tried to refinance as they said I could they rejected me. I have never missed a payment till August of 2018. The transmission went completely out and it will cost 3, 000.00 to fix it and the car, according to Kelly Blue Book is only worth 5, 796.00. these payments are very hard to make. I purchases the vehicle for 15, 000.00 and still owe 13, 000.00. that's an insane amount of interest and it ought to be criminal. Not only that but I have since learned that I could have dropped the gap insurance after 1 year. So now I don't if it's better to surrender the car or let them repossessed it. Either way I get screwed. I've paid 26, 000.00 for a 15, 000.00 car already and now it's worthless it will already ruin my bad credit and also have a very negative effect on my life. And also Santander Consumer USA repeatedly calls and harrasses me, sometimes 10 times a day. They will not let up with the harrassing calls and it's causing me great distress. I've totally been lied to since the day I purchased this now worthless vehicle and I want my money back and I no longer have a desperately needed car that ive already poured 26, 000.00 for. Totally so not fair
And also one time a few months ago, Santandare Consumer USA repossessed my car because they said I owed them $2.71. I didn't even know I owed them that or I would have paid it. So I called them and they told me which tow yard my car was at and I had to go retrieve it. Santandare Consumer Products USA stated not for me to worry because they would just add the cost of the tow to the end of my loan. That amount is 1, 004.38$. I want that money back as well
When I purchased my car in August of 2015, I told them I wasn't working and that I couldn't afford more than 200-250$ a month payments. I was told to just try and make 400.00 plus 50$ a month (450.00) for 6 months and then after 6 months I could refinance to make my payments go down as I requested. But when the 6 months was up I tried to refinance and they denied me. So all this time ive been paying 450.00 a month. The vehicle was 15.000.00$ and I have faithfully been paying them and now the transmission went completely out. The car, according to Kelly blue book is worth 5, 794.00. And after all these payments I still owe 13, 000.00! That's criminal! Or it should be. They want 3, 000.00 to fix the transmission. Thats half the value of the car so I don't want to pay that much on the car. Idk whether to surrender it or let them repossess the car. They continually call sometimes 10 times a day and I've explained everything to them and they still call and harass me. I feel it's ruining my credit as well as my life.

auto loans
It's been a few years but... These guys along with roadloans got me in an awful loan where in just 2 years I paid off just 66.00 on principle? Really? They didn't want to work with me as well they could never produce the original signed loan documents, just pages of small print of all the fees they would charge if late, etc. Ironic, I just received a phone message today from these [censored]. Include me in the lawsuit.
auto loan
My husband and I purchased a car in August 2015 through Carmax with financing through Santander. Over the years we have been late on occasion, but have noticed that no matter how much or how soon we pay our monthly payment our balance is at a stand still. We financed the Dodge Avenger for $15, 586. Currently it is September 2018, and they say we will owe $13, 632. During a phone conversation today, we have discovered we are being charged daily "per diem" fees that are calculated off of the remainder of the loan amount. So, who knows how much they were when we started the loan! After calculating all of the costs though Santander, we have found out we will pay for our car THREE TIMES! No, our credit wasn't perfect when we bought the car and understood the high interest rate. Now, though, we are realizing we will pay over $15, 000 just in daily "per diem" fees, and have already paid over $11, 000 for the car! We have 3 years and 5 months left on the life of the loan, and by the time we finish paying for the car our total will come to almost $41, 000! I am currently working on gathering all the documentation, as we were told "it will take a few days to gather an mail it all."
auto loan/struggle to make payment fell further behind because of holy fire in riverside county need payment arrangements
Account number is [protected]. I called Santander consumer USA about my account to ask about assistance due to the California Wildfires specifically the Holy fire which was declared a Federal emergency. I advised them that fire caused a hardship because of loss of income. It states on their website to call them and ask for help. I advise them that I had been out of work for a few months and and had started working a about a month before the fire hit and caused my work to . I then advised them that I would make a double payment on September 15 to help bring my account current. I spoke with Brianna who submitted the request and advised it would have to be approved by upper management and would take about 24-48 hrs. This was on 8/23/2018 and I was told that a payment extension request would take care of 2 months of May and June or June and July. In about and hour the request was sent to my email stating that it was denied due to payment history. I gave them the reason why the account fell further behind due to a natural disaster. I would have been able to make the payment if I didn't miss two weeks of pay. I would have been able to make at least the 476.18.Either way I would have to make two payments of 476.18 each by September 15. I also called in on Tuesday August 21 and was told my husband has to speak with them because he is the borrower on the account even though I am authorized to speak on the account and I have made decisions before. I was never told that the account was up for repossession in all of the times I have called no rep ever told me that. I also assured them that I would be able to make future payments on the account because I now have stable income coming in on a consistent basis. I am really trying to get some help the fires set me back about 2 weeks of pay and other expenses. I would really appreciate if someone could help set up some arrangement or help. Thank you.
The fire is a federal emergency declared by FEMA given disaster number 5268
repossession, unethical behaviour, forged signature on contract
I purchased my truck from Spikes Motor Company in Mission, Texas on 07-04-2015. The dealership was not able to obtain a finance company for me for until October 2015. They found Santander Consumer USA. I never signed a contract with them and someone from the dealership or Santander forged my signature on the contract. I have a copy of the paperwork and copy of the contract that I requested from Santander. The signatures are different and are not my signature. I never met with Santander or anyone at the dealership for this contract. I live in Laredo, Texas. I purchased the truck in Mission, Texas. Mission is about 3 1/2 hour away from Laredo. I never went back in October 2015 to sign this contract. The contact was signed on 08-18-2015 and I was working in Laredo.
Aside for my signature being forged on the contract, all of the payments that I have made on the loan have gone to principal. Not one cent has gone to the principal balance on the account. I realize that most of the payment goes to the finance charges but not one single dollar has gone to the principal balance of the loan. This does not seem right. How can after 3 years of making payments, not one dollar go to reduce the principal balance on the account.
I respectfully, request that if you can look this for me. I am attaching the Spikes Sales contract with my correct signature, Santander payment detail history, and Santander Contract (forged signature). If you compare the signatures, they are not even similar.
Sincerely,
Rene Cardona, Jr.

auto loan/ contract
I have been in possession of a 2010 Ford Focus since mid 2011. I cosigned an auto loan/contract with my mother as the primary signer issued by Santander Consumer USA. 2, 000 dollars was paid down with my monthly payments to be 450.00.
It is now August of 2018. The vehicle has not been paid off as of yet! Each time that I contact Santander, I am given a different amount due in order to pay off this loan. The balance often fluctuates from day-to-day. I am unable to access my online account, and I have been told that I owe as much as 9, 000 dollars in order to pay off the loan.
Santander is ruining my credit as well as my Mother's. If the representative that I last bothered to speak with is correct, it reflects that I have only paid approximately 4-5, 000 dollars or the loan.
Santander tpc calls every day. The vehicle was once repossessed last year, and I paid 2, 300 dollars in order to retrieve it.
I feel trapped and taken advantage of. I have had to pay thousands of dollars in repairs along with my monthly payments. Santander has agreed to defer payments in the past for up to 2 months at a time. However, after at the end of the deferment I was informed that the deferment was denied. Understand, during the 2 months that I believed to have my payments deferred, I didn't receive a single phone call requesting a payment. Santander calls every day if I have a past due balance any other time.
Speaking of past due balances, I have had one consistently for years. I have even made large payments of 1, 100, 1, 500, 2, 000 dollars. The representatives will tell me that I am current, only to receive a call 2 or 3 days later requesting a payment on a past due amount. I have even experienced representatives disconnecting calls when they are unable to explain my charges!
I can't trade in this vehicle because of the amount owed currently. I am in constant fear of repossessions. I can't get a straight answer on my loan balance, and I'm financially drained from making payments that don't reflect on my loan. The interest rate that I am being charged by Santander fluctuates, literally every day due to these false amounts that they claim to be "past due".
2011 nissan juke
Purchased from Jimmy Cleveland Nissan Wichita Falls Texas 76309 I recently done a volunteer repo. Santander carried my note and I just felt like they kept charging me late fees same one thing and meaning another communicating on the phone with them was very confusing I'm going to have to get my dates together and add them to my statement I just knew I couldn't keep paying all those late fees they care say in the head plus my note. I did not realize at the time I decided to do the volunteer repo that they had been sued for this kind of stuff many many times I don't even know how I found the reviews but I did
customer service
Santander Consumer does not care about its customers at all. Any time I spoke with someone at customer service I never received the help that I needed. I called once because of a $25 fee. They said it was because of a bi-weekly payment that I made, which they do not allow their customers to do. I totally disagree with that. All auto finance companies allow that. All that Santander Consumer wants is money in their pockets. I had been making my payments on time every month on my vehicle, and the balance only went down about $1000 in the first year after I had paid $4800 to them. I went to an auto dealer recently and told him that I needed to get a different vehicle just to get away from Santander Consumer. When I told them how bad the company had treated me for the past year he helped me get another vehicle. Now I am finally away from them. The auto dealer told me he has heard how bad Santander Consumer is and that they should be put out of business. I agreed with him on that. Santander Consumer is rated at the very bottom when it comes to auto financing. I have told several people to stay away from them. I can not even give them one star. Instead the rating of that company would be a FFF! What is it going to take for the company to be shut down? Something else that Santander Consumer didn't do was report to the credit agencies about my payments on time so because of that my credit did not increase at all that entire year.
auto financing
For the second time in 6 months they have illegally repossessed my car with no information given I am not behind on my payments I have $2, 000 left to pay off my car that's it only 2000 they have not sent one letter to my house we have both phone numbers my phone number and my mom's phone number and it's a emergency backup my dad they have not called none of the three phone I also use my dad's house as a second billing address he said they have not said anything for me.
the way santander is being dishonest and block, my account too stop me from seeing my payment history
In 2017 I brought a car a 2012 Toyota RAV4 Because off mine not Soo good credit I, got a loan with Santender .my payment was 367 a month and never miss a payment and every month paid 500 instead off the regular 367 payment.know I, was involved in a accident and my car was a total loss my insurance is paying 13, 436 my loan with Santender was 14, 224 so the total loss is: like I mentioned before and the insurance try too pay the loan and know Santender tells me, the loan not paid for when my insurance sent me, a letter they have issued a check .in top of all I already paid 7, 771 on the loan in car payments and just check it true the phone since they block me, from seeing it on line and it says I, owe 11, 000.62 horrible in my opinion they are ripped me, off.
auto loan
I took out a loan with Santander in 2013; it was a 5-year loan. When I called Santander in March 2018 to inquire about the number of payments I had pending, I was informed that I still have 24 payments left to pay off the loan. This means that I would have had a 7-year loan... that is unheard of!
I found out that very little of my monthly payment goes towards the principal balance. Most of my monthly payment has been going to pay interest and other fees. My car was once repossessed (sometime in late 2017). I paid about $2, 000.00 and acquired my vehicle back. When I learned in March 2018 that I still had 24 more payments, I stopped making my payments. I need help in filing a lawsuit against this company and its unlaw practices. Please advise where I go from here. Thank you for your assistance!
auto loan
We are new to purchasing a car and we were told what car we were "allowed" to buy which was a 2017 Nissan. It is a very nice car but the payment were really high, $453 per month. The interest is worse, it is 24%. After a few months we pay the $453 and notice not even ONE DOLLAR is going to principal!?! We are so stressed out over this agreement! And every month our balance gets $200 added just because of interest! We don't know what to do.
Good luck to you. I too am going through the same thing with this company. Someone needs to stop them in their tracks. Disgusting! You may also have additional payments added on to your loan, extending more payments onto the balance.
auto loan
My auto loan through this bank is a joke. Was swayed into buying a 2018 Kia Optima that was truly too much in the first place. They have me paying almost $600 a mont on a car with a 19.6% rate, I made my first payment on July 31st using the wrong bank turned around on the 3rd and paid the note, got a collection call on the 9th due to them applying the payment to the Principle instead of what was due.
auto loan company
I open an account with Santander USA back in 2016 long story short I lost my job and 2017 and was making my payments on time as I should have fell behind and asked to get help wasn't given all of the options to help me get caught back up also have been paying on his loan for a while and it doesn't seem to be going down or anyting seems that I'm being ripped off and I'm overpaying and every time I make a payment it doesn't go towards my payment there certain statements missing online numbers don't add up a number of things
