I ordered a Sceptre Television. From the day I got it there was a tiny red dot in the center of the screen. I was told by customer service that I could not return the TV because according to industry standards, there had to be 3 dots in a cluster or at least 8 dots all over the screen. So, apparently, I paid $600 for a faulty TV with a dot in the middle. So a month goes by and the 1 dot turns into a little red line with yet another red dot next to it. So after I had to submit multiple pictures of the dots to their customer service department, they finally agreed that I should have my Tv replaced. Funny thing is I had to purchase packaging, foam, and bubble wrap for a 32 inch TV and then pay to have it sent back to them. So...ideally...I am paying $100 to send back a TV that was never good from the first day bringing the grand total of my purchase to $700. I don't see this as a good customer service practice. Had I done something to the TV to make it returnable, I would of course expect to pay any fees. I should have never taken a chance on a brand I knew nothing about.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Sceptra is crazy they got these tv out here, , i got one just few days after i cant get a signal wtf ? it was picking channels up but barely, , seem the air waves seem to be blocking the signals, , i was getting channels on old tv then it stopped i thought was the converter box but was not the signal seem weak

My brother bought one of these horrible tvs for my mother. Not only does it say no signal half the time when you turn it on..and it takes numurous tries to get it to turn on right..but also you play hell trying to get a dvd player to work on it. All you get is no signal whenever you try!Yes it is hooked up right..yes I got it to work 2 times and that is it. This tv is a piece of crap!
Walmart sells SCEPTRE TVs at what seems like a great price. I bought a 50-in, HD for $375. The picture Quality was one of the best I've even viewed on a television. It remained that way for 2 weeks before the picture went black! Luckily, it has a 1 year warranty! All I have to do is return the TV to California and they will repair it at no cost to me!
WOW! I can return it for only $102 in shipping fees (I'm responsible for the shipping fees according to the maker of my new $375.00 boat anchor!). Lets see, $375(purchase) + $102 shipping to repair = $475 ...not such a great price Walmart for a TV that doesn't work!
So lets apply that logic to another item. You buy a auto with a warranty. It breaks. The auto maker will gladly fix it for no charge as soon as you return it to Detroit!
Walmart may sell a lot of good products BUT SCEPTRE IS NOT ONE! BUYER BEWARE!
same issue as many others. blue light is on but no picture is home!
My Daughter purchased 32in Spectre TV as a gift after a 1yr exactly the tv wouldn't come on with remote .you had to unplug then plug it back up several times after a month the TV never came on now I'm starring a black TV screen .I really hate this TV .I hope whoever reads theses awful reviews spread the word & put this company out of business, they are running a scam
I purchased mine at christmas on line went to local walmart, picked it up made a huge mistake i did not un box until 90 days had passed turned it on programmed it worked fine one day then it started the blue screeen of death and then it went to white to blue to red, called customer support oh no problem press power un plug from the wall let go off the button and plug it back in.great it worked you cannot imigine how many times i have done this...now it has same channel on all the channnel don't matter which one you put it on it is locked on same channel.now it has static screen, , , i called support and oh you need cable box, I said no i did not before oh well they have changed to digital, no they done that already oh you need a qam tuner this tv don't have that...i just hung up..its bad when you simple put any kind of tv in it place and you have all the channels no isssues, I wish i had never saw this set..plus i got a extended warranty that is useless...I am not gonna spend any money to ship it back to them...I have had problems right out of the box...My suggestion is not buy this brand tv.I am going to complain to walmart for what little that will do.
I bought a Sceptre televison and it keeps shutting off. A tech came out but couldn't fix it because she had to witness the problem. Now, it shuts off every 5 to 10 minutes everyday. I don't watcht that televisions anymore because of that. I called back to re-open my work order but was told it's now out of warranty and I can find someone local to fix it. I asked the tech if I could speak to his manager and was told he was out to lunch. I asked for his managers first and last name. He gave me his first name but said it was against company's policy to give out the last name so he only gave me the first letter of the last name. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY ANOTHER SCEPTRE. THIS WAS MY FIRST ONE AND SCEPTRE HAS LET ME DOWN.
I have a 42" Sceptre LCD TV and (blue light is on) and, I'm having problems with the TV turning on. Sometimes, if I unplug it and wait a few minutes, it will come on. However, sometimes when I do this and, it does come on, it'll go out as soon as it as it came on. What do I do, to get my TV on and to stay on, It's not quite 1yr old?
I agree with all the complaints because my sister bought me a Television and I sent it in June to be services because it blew out and now I have to return it to be service for the same thing.
I cannot believe that everyone is having the same problems with this TV.
I purchased this T.V. about 2 years ago, it was in my Mom's bedroom on the 3rd floor worked perfectly we moved it down to the 2nd floor made the spare room into a T.V. room 2 months ago beginning of the end! the T.V. won't come on only the 2 blue lights it looks like WALL-E staring back at you! I have to plug and unplug the T.V. and the Cable box about 10 times to get it to work! every time I'm ready to hurl this bad boy, it comes on! I'm definitely going to look around
Call Sceptre TV and ask for Technical Support. Telephone1-[protected]-3698 We were having problems with our TV flashing different colors. We called our Cable Carrier and he said that the TV was probably shot after reading Google Sceptre TV Complaints. We unplugged everything because we couldn't turn off the TV. Two days later we talked with Tech Support at Sceptre. The man helped us to get our TV back to Normal. We had Excellent Results. Perfect TV again. Call TECH Support!
I purchased not one but two (2) televisions from Sceptre this past December, 2014. I purchased a 32' and a 50' at the same time. They were delivered to my home just prior to Christmas. I purchased a new living room set so I didn't open it until the 1st of February. Then i come home around June 15th and it stop showing a picture, the sounds were still working so at that point I assume wait a few days come back and maybe it would come back on but of course it didn't. I went to Walmart a few weeks later and talked to a salesperson there about and they told me to contact them. So I did early July. The support tech told me after speaking and answering questions and getting the codes off the back that I would have to ship it back to them at my expense so they can repair or replace. And they will ship that tv back after repair or replacement on them.. So they sent me all of the shipping materials, then I took it to UPS and it cost me $96.00. A couple of weeks later I get an email from them stating they were sorry but my screen was damaged in the shipment contact UPS and file a claim. They denied because they say their foam material is fragile not good for shipping tv. Sceptre then asked me to do an appeal I did so and it was denied. Then they asked for the tv back, because UPS pick up to inspect from Sceptre. Now they want it back and UPS is not in agreement to ship unless I am paying and I damn show ain't doing that. So now Sceptre is telling me they are not responsible because UPS damaged it in delivery. I should had to have it shipped and it should not have been going out in six (6) months of purchase. They are trying to make a fool out of people and I did seek legal counsel on today because they both have given me the run around since July. If you are in the market of purchasing a tv I would not purchase from them, looking over this website they are ripping people off. I also thought about contacting the media to let people know because the holidays are coming. I am going to research and possibly do that too. Gwendolyn Stubblefield
After purchasing my Spectre television at Walmart for their Cyber Monday special, a mere 10 months later and my screen goes blank. Can't fix it. Have an open complaint with Walmart and am starting one with Spectre too. Major disappointment.
I bought during black friday online on walmart.com in 2013... Turned it off past night, turned on this morning yo get ready for school and i noticed the screen was a bit dim, wasn't sure why. I was looking at my phone at my school email and looked up, there was audio but not visual. I tried changing the channels thinking it was the station, nothing. I turned it off and back on and still only audio. I unplugged it to try a different plug, plugged it in and now no audio or visual. I bought another tv about a year before that and i had no issues, it still works... i hope it'll turn on lter when i plug it back in, if not I'll probably have my dad take a look at it when he gets back from jury duty. Just noticed too that the red light isnt fully turned on either, it's probably only half of the little box.
Do Not Buy From Sceptre! They have products that are awful and good luck with customer service, they either hang up or leave you on hold so long that you hang up, or they just don't answer! What kind of reputable business doesn't answer their phones? My tv has been damaged for over 6 months and they have yet to resolve it. It's under warranty still also!
i had a x40 that was dead and i repaired it.
take a look here https://youtu.be/8mdh5s9i9Bc
Bought this Christmas 2013 put way for later use and plugged it in to find it never worked from day one. Called them and it was going to cost over 100 dollars and there is no warranty. Never again will I buy this brand.
I bought a 32" sceptre Christmas 2014 and only played it at night wephen I went to bed so it's barely had any play time and yesterday I turned it in and I have sound but no picture all black screen. I purchased mine from Walmart as well. These TVs are a piece of misery...I was suppose to have gotten an Emerson but they shipped is instead. One of their Black Friday specials. Now. I'm going to have to go out and purchase another tv and it it want be from Walmart...

5meses of use was the worst purchase made or Walmart, nor SCEPTRE I could make an arrangement that I can make arrangement with them .a lemon
NOT recommend this company for excellence is very good .no
I bought a Sceptre TV about 2 yrs. ago at Walmart About a month or so ago it just went black. It was a 32 in. hd.. I won't be buying that one again!
My 40" Sceptre has no sound when playing a DVD. Picture is fine but no sound. It was purchased in Dec. 2015. Please let me know what is the problem. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. PS.. I never used DVD until now.
I bought a Sceptre from Walmart and 3 weeks after the warranty expired the TV screen went black. These are the worst flat screen tvs I have ever had or seen. Do not buy this brand. It's cheaper for a reason.
I got my mother the same television at the same time as myself and the same thing happened to hers within weeks of mine going black.
I PURCHASED A 50' Sceptre Tv, and right after the warranty, black screen but sound works.. It is in such good condition, it has plastic on the base, the side sticker was still on it. I dusted my screen, and thought I was doing something good. Now I don't know what to do with it. I hear when and if they actually try a repair, it'll only go bad again, so now I have this beautiful faulty TV, and I can[t see anything. I spent 400$, and now I have a whole new TV. SMH NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. SPREAD THE WORD, BECAUSE I DID RESEARCH BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, AND THE REVIEWS WERE AMAZING, SO I DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE WORKING FOR, BUT LETS HELP PUT THIS TERRIBLE COMPABNY OUT OF BUISNESS! PISSED.
my remote works sporatically, can't turn it off or on and can't change the channel! It just doesn't work. I am in a wheelchair and can't unplug the tv. I of course put fresh batteries in the remote...nothing. How do I get a new remote? I tried the manual settings and that didn"t work.Customer service phone was constantly busy. will never by another tv from Spectre again!
my remote stopped working. How do I obtain a new one?
I purchased a 55 inch TV from SCEPTRE in NOV. 2015. In AUG. of 2016 a thin red vertical line appeared near center of screen. They wanted me to ship the monster cross country fom NC to CA. I have bad knees, no way that was going to happen. Screw them. Please read your warranty before buying. Maybe they should only sell in southern CA. Sceptre is worthless for the rest of the country.
Here's a thought - if the TV is all that bad - has anyone filed a complaint with the BBB? I got my hnds on one that is already broken, so I am reading these complaints with an open mind. The Better Business Bureau is one entity to contact, also in the US try this link for consumer protection agency - https://www.usa.gov/state-consumer
Please don't post anything about sceptre TVs they are amazing. BE THANKFUL FOR A TV
I have purchased at least 10 LCD tv’s over the past years and have had ZERO problems except with is 32” Sceptre which is over one year old. Screen just went haywire all of a sudden! Will NOT purchase this brand again.
I must rescind my comment as after much interrogation of my 10 year old son, I concluded he hit the tv screen. Not a failure of SCEPTRE. Now time for the punishment. No TV for a month should be a good beginning!
That is the exact same picture my one week old scepter had when first turned on. After about 20-30 min the picture finally comes in clear. I will definately be returning my tv and will never purches this brand again.

I just put heard a 50 inch Sceptre tv about a week ago. From day one it has scribble on the screen for about 20 to 30 min when it's first turned on then the picture will finally come in. I have not yet tried to return the tv but after reading all the comments I am going to return it before it's too late
Tv just shut off cant get it back on. Bought it 2 months ago.
OK so I just recently bought a 43" sceptre TV from Walmart I can't rate it yet because I haven't received it. Its supposed to be arriving tomorrow and already after reading some reviews I'm already deeply regretting I bought it I really should've did a bit more investigation and reading on this brand before I jumped into it. My husband worked so hard to get me a new flat screen TV because I've never owned one and I don't want him to be disappointed if it goes crappy so now I'm trying to decide if I want to ship it back or take it to my local Walmart and see if they'll trade it in for something else or if I want to give it a try and see if it'll work for us I'm not sure what I want to do
my remot is not working can sent signals to it
remote not working can you send signals to it
Purchased the 50" Sceptre from Walmart April 2019. As of a week ago I find out all the HDMI slots are bad, Customer service want an RMA for me to send them the TV at my cost to Ca. which is 5-7 days UPS ground, 2 weeks for Repairs then another 5-7 days return back to me. So basically a month without a TV not gonna happen. I'll eat the 200.00 I am out and it's no wonder Walmart stopped selling these. Sticking to brands I know from past experience I can trust, might cost me a little more but no more cutting corners when it comes to good old fashion brands.
