My son was enrolled in this drug rehab program in September, 2011.
He was moved the following month, October 19, 2011.
Before sending my son to this facility, I researched facilities online. I called Shadow Mountain Academy to get information on this treatment program. The owner, Robb Holub, is who called me back. After learning I was a single mother, and sharing his story of his own son almost dying due to drugs, he convinced me that I needed to get him to his treatment facility asap. That was the only way to save his life. He explained that 3 months of treatment was required up front, plus $3, 000.00 for a spending account. They would allocate $90.00 a week to buy necessities. Robb Holub knew I would have to borrow the money, but convinced me it was the only way to save my son. I wired Robb Holub $18, 000.00. I was assured that my son's insurance would be filed, so I could receive some of the money back. After my son was discharged on October 19, 2011, I requested a refund for the 2 months my son did not stay there. I was told the $3, 000.00 spending money was gone. I have requested a refund in the amount of $12, 600.00 on numerous occasions. I never get a response. Shadow Mountain Recovery has since been bought by large corporations, and who knows where the owner is. Please be careful if you come across the names Ive listed above. These facilities prey on parents who would do anything to save their children. I learned a valuable and costly lesson.
I agree. This company is not completely truthful on many accounts.
I was a patient there also. They would not refund the last month that I didn't attend either. They charged me for doctor visits I never went to. I got into the outpatient program after 60 days and was in OP for 2 weeks until they got a letter from my insurance saying they would not cover the outpatient because they didn't deem it necessary. The therapists asked me to go back into impatient, which I tried to refuse. But the head therapist Jason F called my mom, and has convinced her I needed to stay. After a week of being back in impatient i told my mom I didn't feel safe there and asked them to discharge me. EVEN THOUGH I COMPLETED EVERYTHING I NEEDED TO, was compliant and took the program seriously, Jason F (head therapist of the Colorado Springs location) wrote me an invalid discharge summary with "in high risk of full relapse" in big bold letters at the bottom. He knew I had to take that to the judge as I was court ordered to their program in the first place. Upon leaving I asked for therapist recommendation which Jason refused to give me and proceeded to tell me to write him a letter in a year to tell him how bad I was doing and that he was right! After I left, I kept in touch with the house manager at the time for the women and she soon left shadow mountain. As soon as she quit they hit her with a GAG order so she couldn't talk about what was going on there... I was also told by a trusted employee of theirs that Jason F was having therapy sessions with a girl named Mae Hatter for hours without writing a single thing down. There was some fishy things going on within shadow mountain, at each location. Saddens me that these are supposed to be people we can trust. Yet they manipulate the parents by using the kids as leverage. Sick.
i went too shadow mountain for 9 months it was the worst rehab i have ever been too without a question. The owners debb and rob brought vodka too their private cabin on the rehab grounds. they lied too me about how long my stay was and they changed my medicines without a doctor. i went through an opiate withdrawl cold in the woods. some of my fellow paitents had serous behaverol problems and they wouldnt kick them out even for violence. I was punched my first night at this rehab. dont go too this rehab. this place is a criminal organisation
