My girlfriend and I literally just disembarcked from the Carnival Freedom, our once a year vacation. The first thing I wanted to do besides find a ride away from this nightmare was register an online complaint about the fraudulent and unprofessional spa aboard the Freedom. The spa onboard, owned and operated by Steiner Transocean, was run by the most dishonest and unprofessional staff I have encountered in the service industry. I am an attorney and My girlfriend is a residential property manager for service oriented corporation. We love to travel and have a high threshold for rude and dishonest behavior because we work very hard in high pressure positions, so we have developed aversions to controversy when on vacation. These lying cheats at Steiner Transocean pushed us well beyond our thresholds. First, they used the "bait and switch" by overcharging us for services that we booked weeks in advance of our cruise. The overcharges were substantial, approximately double what we contracted for. We attempted to cancel our second appointment because we were utterly disgusted with their fraudulent practices, they told us that they had a 50% penalty cancellation policy. Rather than risk the over hanging and being given another opportunity to dispute the fees they charged, the manager over charged us again after promising us a lower price. She was completely rude and unprofessional. They did not finish their service for my girlfriend, who was told to book another appointment to finish it, then when my girlfriend tried to do so, the manager told her there would be an additional fee for the completion of her service, when they were the ones that could not accommodate my girlfriend because of their scheduling error. Unbelueveable. From what I've read about this company, they are about as crooked as they come. Carnival Cruise Lines has made a very poor choice for a business partner.
I will never travel using Carnival or utilize any Steiner Transocean service or product ever again. I have never been treated so rudely and with such a disregard for truthfulness or any semblance of professionalism. Normally, I give people a second chance, and I did with Steiner and Carnival. Rather than trying to rectify the wrong they had committed, they decided to try to take advantage again. I will take every opportunity to warn hard-working people about spending the dollars they toil and sweat to earn on ### like the management and owners of Steiner Transocean.
