Teenagers are being pick on and blamed for thing they are not doing. They don't know how to defend themself and even if they do no one cares enough to stand up for them. Apparently calling managers over when purchasing alcohol is considered rude. Staff had to yelled to get someone over and the co-worker was not happy about it. Honestly the cashier did what it had to be done. Also being accused of having a short cash register when staff was doing carts his entire shift. Staff was just covering when co-workers when on break so he got blamed for it and he defended himself and said, "it wasn't him" but their response was "ok I will look into the cameras but most likely it was you and you got distracted". Managers covering the stairs with items and co-worker pass by off the clock and he got written up for it and was told he was rude. There are staff at the cashier that are willing to have a 2-way conversation providing awesome customer service skills which is rare to see now because everyone looks like zombies and ended up been written up for talking in the cashier when staff never stop working as he talk with customers. This staff says "gob bless" to his customers as they leave and got told he can't say that to anyone. I am a customer myself and there is nothing wrong with blessing people as they leave the store. And no, I am not religious so if this doesn't bother me why would it bother the managers. The poor cashier ends up been called to the office for it. I know some cashier likes making jokes and if there are teenagers instead of writing them up, they should be someone there redirecting them on what's appropriate in a professional setting considering there is always a manager present versus getting called to the office to be accused of things that at that point they have no chance of defending themself because at the end of the day managers will always be right no matter what. This is why teenagers don't last and leave. I also don't appreciate how one of this staff when got called into the office was told by manager "I have friends that are Hispanic, and I know how outspoken you guys are" to a 16-YEAR-OLD KID. Comparing staff to friends is not an option of excused to be made on a workplace on the clock. My observation as well you have staff smoking near doors of the building.
There are issues with the current management in the store. Staff are being treated with preference; teenagers are being pick on and blamed for things they don't do. Staff is reporting that all of this started with the new management.
Desired outcome: I want a full investigation on this stop & shop store. My next step will be reporting to the department of labor. This staff has been in the office 5 time in a month for pointless accusation.
