Contacted by Frank Hughes who asked if I have ever used my timeshare and if not, he could sell if for me for a fee. I thought I had checked them out completely with the online business bureau, credit card companies, etc. Apparently, they started going downhill in the past year. After repeated phone calls, I was told someone was interested in my timeshare but their offer was too low and they would be returning in a couple of weeks in the hopes of being able to make a better offer. This went on for 6-8 weeks with no better offer forthcoming.
Just 2 days ago when my sister-in-law (who also paid them to sell her timeshare) called them there was a recording stating the number was no longer in service. We are now in the process of trying to recover our money from the credit card company.
Obviously, if something sounds too good to be true - then it is!
They are total frauds.
I'm going to try reporting them to the Florida Ag's office and see where that gets me. I don't know if I should also try reporting them to the Mass. AG's office. The credit card companies are no help whatsoever. They feel that they made an honest attempt to rent/sell our timeshare so their obligation was met. All I can do is continue to try and get at least some of my money back.
I agree with you. I feel so foolish for believing anything they told me. It makes me very angry that they would take advantage of people in that way. You are probably right - I will never see a dime of my money. I have to chalk this up to a very bad experience and learn from this to never trust anyone again.
we went thru the same thing with them. we had listings with them since july 2008, done with David Parks and Daniel Walch(Director of Resales). they would return my calls - sometimes i would have to be stern and complain that they weren't - but I had a good repore with Brian Armstrong - or so I thought. however in September of 2009, i was told Brian had left to go back to college and Victor, then Francisco, then a different Victor, would be handling our accounts/timeshares. They all called at different times saying that there were people interesed in our timeshares and that they would be moving on to the next step to getting them qualified so they could make offers. this went on until the 2nd Victor told me that he had a man who wanted to purchase 2 of our timeshares and would be making his offer by October 28th. it went downhill from there as I could not get in contact with them as when I called I got fast busy signal then not a working number message. I have been doing research and have found our more info on Tom Lewis and what he has registered with the State of Florida. I also found an alternate number to call that actually went into the TWA Resale recording - but it won't take the ext. #s i have on file, so I left a message on Customer Service ext., but don't expect a return call.
here are e-mail addresses I found for Mr. Lewis thru research: foto237@aol.com; tom@twaresale.com. Try them and see what happens.
If I could hunt down TWA Resale and kill everyone that worked there... I would do it. Good luck trying to get your money back from them. I've tried for two years, now I can't even find a phone number that works.
