I trust no one else with my eyecare.
In 2017 I had cataract surgery, even though I had insurance I thank God my (late) Dad helped me through this, and took care of out of pocket expenses. The difference in my vision was so wonderful. I recently went in for an eye exam and they were so thorough. They are kind, patient, and explain things. My eye Doctor even remembered my eyes, that says a lot right there.
I highly recommend Tylock-George Eye Care to everyone!

My PCP's office referred me to Tylock-George Eye Care. When I talked to them to book an appointment, I asked what policies do they have in place for COVID. It's now August 2021 & we're in a spike with the Delta variant. When the reply was no masks were required, I asked to and spoke with the office administrator. He seemed quite proud that the staff had the "freedom" to not wear masks. So I asked if he would check with Dr. George, who had the authority to set and enforce a masking policy. (Dr. Tylock is retired and Dr. George is now the principal.) When the answer came back a few days later, Dr. George specified there was no policy change. I promptly canceled my appointment and booked with a different ophthalmologist who requires masks at his practice. I refuse to go to a doctor who doesn't care about his patients' health and safety!

upfront cost of services
When I went to this business per request of my doctor, information that was omitted was the upfront cost at check out over the $40 refraction fee! Which cost me $126, $86 dollars more and that was in my opinion false advertising; due to the fact that the original cost was just the start of fees collected at the time of check-out! Then on top of that, they had you to sign another paper stating they can charge even more money, if you miss an appointment and the desk clerk the whole time, did not even look up at me concerning this matter! Now this is so unprofessional and my appointment time they given me was delayed 45 minutes, causing me to miss my dart paratransit bus to get back home. I am a wheelchair bound war veteran and I ended up having to try to power myself all the way home, from their business barely seeing because of dilated pupils! Gave no apologies on bus!

I am not sure when you came to the office, but our processes seem to have changed as our front desk associates review the expected charges with the patient at check in. Occassionally, the doctor will require additional services based on their findins, at which point one of our team members will review your insurance and go over the expected out of pocket fees.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We cannot improve without feedback and we look at all feedback as opportunities to improve.
Literally the worst doctor I have ever seen
Dr. Gary Tylock is literally the worst doctor I have ever seen. He didn't take my concerns or questions seriously. He seemed unfriendly and distracted. The eye exam he gave me at Gary Tylock Laser Center was not thorough. He answered a personal cell phone call during my exam! He did nothing to inspire my confidence. There are much better eye doctors out there... don't visit this one.
That's very surprising, since when I got mine done, Dr Tylock didn't do eye exams, only surgeries. They have a full staff of technicians and eye doctors who do the exams and testing. When I got my exam before the procedure, the doctor who was doing mine was concerned with an anomaly with my pupils, so he got dr Tylock to come check it out. He was very thorough in explaining what he saw (which my long-time personal eye Dr. Had never been able to do) and was very nice and reassuring. On the day of my surgery I was fighting a severe sinus infection, and not only did he recognize me from a week before when he came in to consult on my exam, he and his staff were very patient and accommodating, with my being stuffy and coughing.
Worst doctor ever
In my opinion Dr Gary Tylock should not be called a doctor of medicine! What he did to me I consider to be criminal! I trusted him to do a very simple procedure, and I've suffered every since! I've been to many other doctors since and they have all told me that what this man did to me cannot be reversed! Too much tissue and nerve damage! He told me he was Board Certified in plastic surgery, since then I checked at "Health Grades" and learned he lied to me about that too! He is not Board Certified in Plastic Surgery! The Tylock Laser Center is a FAKE!

july 2010 Just had my eyes done with Dr Tylock and I am as happy as I can be. The next morning I could see and played golf that afternoon. The staff was incredible and bent over backwards to help. I didnt want to wear my glasses for 5 more days for my surgery the next week so they did it that afternoon. I was going to get my eyes done 7 yrs ago by the "other doctor" in Dallas but it was such a cattle herding system I backed out and took me this long to get my courage back. Dr Tylock was the best and I would recommend him to everyone.
Dr. Tylock and his staff were nothing but pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient, and compassionate before, during, and after my LASIK eye surgery. The office appointments flowed very smoothly and the staff went our of their way on the day of surgery to keep me calm and informed of what was happening during the procedure. I am only 2 days out of surgery and am already amazed with the results. As for Dr. Tylock himself, he is a well-educated, ethical, and personable physician. I would recommend him to friends and family in a heartbeat. Anyone who says otherwise in regards to his character is either a) flat out lying or b) involved in an internet marketing slander scheme. My guess would be both.
To "Eyesopen2": The doctor has a right to defend himself. I would if I were wrongly accused. Why are you even reading reviews on this website if you think it can't be trusted? Yeesh. You get a life.
I would not trust any doctor that is writing their own reviews as tylock has on many websites and even Google map reviews. I have seen other Complaintsboard complaints and [redacted]s and and and on Tylock and then I see a bunch of sweet puffy posts about how great he is posted under the complaints. Just ask yourself this question. Who Gets Lasik from a doctor and then goes to the Internet complaint sites to write how great their experience was? What a Joke. Dr Tylock is creating the comments and Reviews. Do you think we are all stupid Dr Tylock. Get a life.

Dr. Tylock is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has spent over 20 years training other doctors as a clinical professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
This posted report from "Angela" is completely false. Dr. Tylock would never claim to be a Plastic Surgeon, and quite frankly I am not quite sure how plastic surgery ties into LASIK. As with any major surgery it would be suggested that the patient do their homework and make informed decisions.
Dr. Tylock has been chosen a Best Lasik surgeon by his peers for 4 years in an independent poll of other doctors. He is also been selected as the official LASIK surgeon of the Dallas Stars, Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers.
