Click and Clack often advised readers to avoid having your vehicle serviced at the dealer if at all possible. They said if you get ripped off, it's your own fault for going there in the first place.

Case in point. I had a free coupon for an oil change at the Kia Dealer. I told them I had a slow leak in one tire. They said it was not repairable and tried to sell me a new $200 tire. I took it to Discount Tire. They said it was easily repaired and did so. No charge.
