Pella

Two days ago I asked Pella for a price for one quart of stain. First some background. I've had Pella products since about 2007. All windows and doors are Pella... Not off the shelf Pella but custom Pella. I have a walnut door w/sidelights. Pella is exceptionally difficult to do business with. Always has been, always will be. Don't expect Pella to install your windows and doors, they hire sub-contractors, none of which have impressed me over the years. I've threatened several times to file complaints on Pella and today I blew my top. What does a quart of stain cost at Pella? $248+/-. After speaking w/Pella I have the price down to $168+/-. No, you can't match their stains at HD or Lowes. It's a swindle and I'm left wondering if Donald Trump might be on their Board? They get away with this bc we who want a quality product are willing to pay for it. However, I never anticipated really lousy installations w/a sub-contractor (they hire sub-contractors bc their own employees don't know how to install) and then they gouge their customers for simple items like "stain". OH, in order to get the stain I need to pick up locally and I was required to sign a NINE page contract. (That was waived after they heard my anger). SO, NO I cannot in good conscience recommend Pella. Great product... for 15 yrs I've had exceptionally lousy service. Last but not least, NO ONE has been able to tell me that PELLAs stain is any better than any stain sold at HD, LOWEs etc. And, you should know that Pella Corp website has no option to file a complaint with them... That's right... difficult at best to reach the Corporate Office. Obviously they do not subscribe to Amazon customer service high standard. I was sucked in by their glossy advertising. Please don't fall into the same trap as me.!
