apnTech - Voice registration, listings package, listings monthly

In May of 2023, I responded to a Facebook ad to have my company listed on voice search that included all the major search engines. I learned that the company is called APNTech. I spoke with a fast-talking salesman who went by the name of William Denick. His female supervisor gave me a "discounted" price" of $448 due to my time in business for this service. I explained to William that I was concerned with how Google saw the company because it ranked poorly. William volunteered to fix those discrepancies. He convinced me that he could do it with my upgrade, but, as it turns out, I had to do it all myself anyway. I paid for the service on May 2, but am still awaiting a receipt. It was to be a one-time, lifetime payment. There was to be an adjustment of the price for the additional services. A reversal of the original $448 was supposed to happen but did not occur. After requesting an itemized receipt, I received one on May 4 totaling $1,094.00 for services enumerated as Listings Package - $1,094 and Listings Monthly - $0.00. I had no questions when I received the invoice since I was paying one price for the site's lifetime. After all, the company received $1,542 at this point. The following day, after the company got paid, I received an email from William assuring me that I could contact him at his phone number and personal email, which both belong to APN. I also received a welcome email from APN the same day. I never successfully talked to William again to verify the work he was supposed to perform because all calls go to an answering service. I spoke to another person at APN and tried to explain the situation, but despite all my efforts to get William on the line, it was as if he had just disappeared.

Up to this point, I paid $1,542 to APN for this so-called Prime Listing service. To top it all off, the company makes additional demands for payments that I have yet to agree to make in the first place.

Stephanie from the Billing Department accused me of my account being past due. But on July 6, I discovered that APN billed my credit card for an additional $199.00. Not only is it insulting, but the Monthly Progress Report I received two months later reveals an overall score increase of just two points in 30 days. There is also a decrease in synced directories by 19.

Whoever I speak to at this company is always rude, accusatory, and defensive by anyone's standards. An investigation of this company needs to take place as it is virtually impossible to talk to the same person twice, and they invent company policy at will without the benefit of having to document anything.

Today, I spoke again with Stephanie, who told me she was closing my account for failing to pay and that the bill would go into collections. William told me I could try the first month with no charge, and if I didn't see an increase in traffic, I could pay $199 a month with the option to quit at any time. How is it possible to continue to be billed continuously? I am not satisfied with the performance of this company, its customer service, and its practices, and I would like my money returned.

Desired outcome: Full refund.
