Today I exchanged some pants I bought (and lost the receipt for of course, AND paid in cash so it wasn't on my Target app OF COURSE) so they gave me store credit in return which I was incredibly thankful for.
I went to purchase some toilet paper and other products and didn't realize until I got home that the cashier charged me $50 for one thing of toilet paper, aka double-charged me for it.
So, I went back to get my money back and that was fine. I had also forgotten to use my store credit for my first trip that day, so I decided that because I was already there I would use it then.
After my experience with the first cashier I vowed to only use self checkout from now on. BUT I bought a bathing suit which had one of those alarm thingies that the store needs to manually remove for you so I figured I had to (reluctantly) go through the cashier process again.
I paid and as I was walking out, knew to check my receipt, and boom. Double charged again.
So I walked over to the counter to explain for THE SECOND TIME in the same day that I was charged twice for one item. They then told me that because I had used my store credit (ALONG WITH MY DEBIT CARD) that they could only give me the money back in store credit. I had the receipt and everything and paid for it literally seconds before... so now I have to come BACK to your business to buy more of your product in order to get my money's worth so you can double charge me again and keep this process going forever and ever?
I was rightfully pissed but I'm a pushover so I was just going to let it slide but my mom threw a fit and called the manager over who thankfully gave me cash. The poor kid we were dealing with finally thought after my mom complaining for a while to call the manager over.
I will NEVER use the employee cash register again at Target. Change your policies.
