In southern California there is a mattress company named “Sit-N-Sleep” which fills the airwaves with advertising. My wife and I bought a mattress from them after laying on dozens of mattresses in their store. When the mattress was delivered it was much softer than the one we tested in the store. Because “Sit-N-Sleep” had a “..return the mattress within two month return policy which included a 20% restocking fee, ” we continued to sleep on the mattress for a month.
After a month we returned to the store and contracted to trade up to a firmer mattress. The extra cost including the 20% restocking fee came to more than $600.00. Sit-N-Sleep said they would deliver the new mattress and pick up the old mattress in about a week.
A few days later we noticed some of the mattress tags were wrongly placed. At that point we realized the delivery guys had put the mattress on our bed up-side-down. When we turned the mattress over and laid down on it we noticed it was much firmer. We canceled the second delivery and pickup and Sit-N-Sleep said they would remit our credit card payment within 3 business days. Two weeks went by and nothing had been done. We are now disputing the payment with our credit card company.
It has now been more than two months and we discovered that the mattress was not put on our bed up-side-down. Now we suspect the entire mattress may be a reject poorly constructed. We paid almost $2000.00 for a mattress that should have been sold at an outlet mall.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

miss g again forgot to mention i realized the first "stain" was a circle impression from the foam support we had purchased to make the mattress firmer. also the customer service representative Charon was rude, impersonal and eager to try to sell me another mattress. why would i buy another mattress from them.
purchased a cal king pillowtop mattress set from sit n sleep within 30 days we were experiencing severe lower back pain, shoulder pain and neck pain but we assumed it was adjustment to the new mattress after 60 days the pain was getting worse but the exchange time was expired. we noticed the mattress was beginning to slump where we slept on both sides of the bed so we purchased one of those foam supports. this did not help for long so we returned to sit n sleep to complain. we were told a representative from an "independent company" (precise mattress inspection) would come out to inspect it for defects. we phoned the company and the representative came out within a weeks time and we would be notified of the decision within 7 to 10 days. after 2 1/2 weeks I phoned the inspection company and was told to phone sit n sleep. I phoned sit n sleep and was told our mattress was found to be defective and we could come in for an exchange for the price we had paid on another mattress. the salesman, doug, had us lay on a computer enhanced bed to supposedly find the right mattress. after this we ordered another mattress for an additional 290.00 and given a delivery date. when the delivery agent comes he begins to re inspect the mattress for "stains" he finds a circle that is so light you cannot immediately see it and says he cannot exchange the mattress.the customer support representative "Charon" who eagerly informs me my warranty is voided because of this stain unless I get a licensed cleaner to remove it she cannot exchange the mattress. I phone, Chem dry who came out the same day and spent 2 minutes removing the "stain" he stated it was ridiculous and just a ploy for sit n sleep to avoid exchanging the mattress. I phone sit and sleep again, they send out the new mattress again and this time the delivery agent finds another "stain" about the size of a quarter and refuses to exchange the mattress and Charron phones me to say the warranty is voided. she also asked if I had purchased the mattress cover from sit n sleep (cost of 150.00) she could refer me to that company. I read on the consumer complaint information online for sit n sleep that the mattress buying the mattress cover and you still get a "stain" does not mean sit n sleep will exchange your mattress. the mattress is almost impossible to sleep on as the slump on both sides of the bed is now indented further when we lay on it. further investigation from us has uncovered sit n sleep is scamming consumers with this "stain" reason. if a mattress is found to be "defective" what does a "stain" have to do with getting rid of the mattress. Obviously, they are re-selling defective mattresses.
