I purchased a tracfone phone card from the dollar general store. They scanned the card at the register, then I proceeded to go home and activate the card to add minutes to my tracfone I had purchased a month before. Anyway the activation code on the card was unreadable, therefore I could not activate it. I have my receipt for my purchase. They will not honor it. they told me oh well. I shop at this store at least 2-3 times every week. if you won't honor the products that you sell to your customers I don't see how you can stay in business. I am very unhappy about this, and I will never shop in that store again. I want this issue taken care of immeadiatly or I will be forced to contact the bbb and get some results.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

If you look on tracfone cards, or any other prepaid card for that matter, there is a disclaimer stating that refunds and exchanges cannot be done at the store for that product. Dollar General system (registers) does not allow for it because the prepaid companies do not allow DG the rights to the prepaid services. DG is a vendor for prepaid services and that is all. Tracfone has to deal with the card issues, regardless what kind of issue it is - simply because DG's system is retail, not service.
