On 12/16/19 I was involved in a non injury single vehicle private property collision that required my vehicle to be towed to my residence. I contacted AAA and they dispatched a tow truck. The company that responded (NK Towing) towed my vehicle home and placed it in the driveway. Upon leaving my driveway and neighborhood, the tow driver backed into a vehicle parked legally along the curb line. The parked vehicle belongs to my son in law Gabriel Medina. The damage was substantial rendering it operable. The driver apologized, contacted his supervisor and it was agreed that the damage would be repaired. NK's owner Wally requested that insurance companies be avoided and that the repairs instead would be repaired by a body shop known by NK. NK requested to pay out of pocket for the repairs. We did not feel comfortable continuing this way as we feared that the repairs would not be to required standards. Regardless we were never provided with the name of NK's repair shop of choice.
As of 1/06/20 nothing had been resolved and we contacted AAA. AAA advised that we should a have called them immediately. Although NK is a private tow company, they are contracted by AAA and that responsibility was AAA's and the claim would be handled by AAA. We were advised that we would be contacted within 48 hours, however we never received any correspondence.
I recontacted AAA on 1/08/20 and was provided with claim number 1930 and advised that someone would call us on 1/10/20. After not having received a call on 1/10/20, we contacted them late in the afternoon and were advised that the claim number did not exist. Additionally, they advised that a Claims Adjuster would contact us by 1/13/20.
As of 1/14/20 no calls or correspondence has been received. I contacted AAA today (1/14/20) and we were advised "That hopefully, the Claims Adjuster would call by 1/17/20." We have made numerous calls and complaints without any assistance.
We are completely dissatisfied with that lack of service, refusal to return calls and to repair the vehicle. As of 12/16/19 Mr. Medina has not been able to drive his vehicle and has had to make other arrangements to handle his everyday vehicle needs.
We have run out of options and or who to turn to to resolve our issue. We have resorted to contacting the BBB and are awaiting contact.
