I bought my Toyota 4Runner in January 2015. My first Toyota. I purchased a 100, 000 mile warranty. At 125, 000 my engine blew, inspite of keeping up with the scheduled maintenance. The mechanics said they never saw anything like it, because when they pulled the pan, pieces of the block fell out. There were no warning lights activated that would indicate low oil, over heating, ETC..
I believe this type of catastrophic failure is beyond the norm, and points to a defective casting with the engine block. This presents a tremendous financial hardship on me as I am unable to absorb the cost of purchasing a new engine, rent a car, and repair costs. As such, I am requesting my defective engine be replaced at no cost to me. I am still paying on the auto loan for a very expensive vehicle, that has a very expensive defect. I expect Totota to stand by its reutation for quality, and correct a situation that is the opposite of everything Toyota stands for.
The pictures below show the damage to the engine. The mechanic stated a faulty oil pump caused the catastrophic failure.
