My name is Russell Carpenter. My email address is [protected]@roadrunner.com. I have an RV on a E350 chassis. I needed to take it in to Fritz ford because the vent control was stuck on defrost. On August 13 I Called and was told that Don was in charge of RV's. I left a message. On August 14 I called and talked to Pat in service. She told me Don was at lunch and took a message to give to him. On August 15 I called in the morning and left another message. Called late afternoon and waited on hold for 15 minutes and spoke to Don. Said he got my messages but was too busy to call back. Said he would call me back on August 16 and schedule a date to bring it in. No call on August 16. On August 19 I called and waited on hold forever and finally talked to Don. He said to bring it in on August 28. I was going to be out of town, asked and was told I could bring it in the evening before. I said to call or text me with an update. No contact. Called at 0830 on August 29 left message. Called at 1520 and waited on hold till Don picked up. He told me there was rodent damage that was not covered by warranty. Didn't know how much it would cost because he hadn't processed the repair estimate. Said he would call me in a few minutes with the cost. I called back at 1620 and kept going from hold back to the operator repeatedly. At 1700 I went and picked up my RV. When I dropped it off he mentioned rodent damage right away and even looked around under the hood with a flashlight and said he didn't see any rodent damage. As soon as I got home he called to tell me there were ants in the cab. He has time to call about ants but can't return ANY of my calls or call to let me know what's going on with my vehicle. He never called me back at any time. I was always trying to contact him. If I ever need service again it will not be at this dealership. I am very dissatisfied with the whole experience. The customer service there is terrible. As I was waiting to pick up my RV Don was talking to another customer about so many cases of the rodent damage in vehicles that are coming in. He was saying that the wiring and hoses are being made using olive oil now instead of mineral oil. Mineral oil will evaporate and wiring and hoses will dry out and crack but I rodents aren't attracted to it. But with olive oil, it doesn't evaporate but rodents like the taste of it. If Ford is using something that attracts rodents, shouldn't Ford be responsible for the damage caused? Sounds like "rodent damage" is the flavor of the month if so many cases of it are being found. Or is this just an excuse to keep from doing warranty repairs?
