Items purchased: 2 loafs of bread (6.99 ea), 1 pk of hamburger buns ($3.99), 1 $50 participatings gift card.
Coupons used: $6 manufacturer coupon for the hamburger buns (value was more than price so they should have been free). $10 off groceries when you buy a specific, participating gift card.
The problem was that their computer took the $10 off first, using a portion for each item. I already had a coupon for the value of the hamburger buns, so the $10 should have been split between the other 2 items. BUT IT WASN'T! Because of it taking the coupons off in the wrong order, I was overcharged! It took 2 managers, and 20+ minutes of my time to make them make it right. I asked about their accuracy guarantee and she said it only refers to the ringing up of the price, not the final result after coupons.
SO PISSED OFF RIGHT NOW! They need to get better programmers to write their register software.
Lesson learned. If you are going to use manufacturer coupons and one of the store ad coupons, make sure to do multiple transactions because their register computers don't take them off in the right order and you could be paying more than you should.
Claimed loss: $2.22 overcharged
Desired outcome: A register computer that takes the coupons in the right order. Be given the accuracy guarantee
