Regus - Virtual Office

No option for early termination. All they send is a "Courtesy reminder" for a two year contract without shame and auto-renew it without consent. I called their location (center) to ask about options for early termination. This is the first time I am calling them in two years holding their VO, and no one picked up the call, even after selecting "Urgent" on their IVR. It's only 3PM EST, and it's Friday (well within business hours).

Desired outcome: Terminate contract, clear dues, close account permanently.

I have filed my report to FTC. Hope everyone coerced with auto-renewals by this fraud company will do that same. Here's how I did: Opened reportfraud.ftc.gov and selected "Online shopping"; On next page -> "A problem with an online purchase.." -> "I was not given opportunity to consent to delay or get a refund" -> "Credit card" -> "I had difficulty cancelling a recurring charge" -> for company "Regus Management Group LLC". Fingers crossed! \,/

They have started with threats. First time I am seeing a company doing this for an invoice posted one month ago. Even cheap loan sharks don't do this!

Avoid this plague of a company! Tell everyone you know, the risk of doing business with companies like these. Write a complaint to FTC on their business malpractices coercing customers with faulty auto-renewals (Lookup "FTC ABCmouse"). Take legal action or serve them a legal notice if you can. Good luck!

So, you are well aware that auto-renewal provisions in your agreement will come as a surprise, yet you will have them consented by default. And, please stop saying "We take renewals very seriously". What does that even mean? With what intent, are you being serious about? Serving your clients, or extorting money from them?

Your agreement mentions that it "creates no tenancy interest", but a "commercial equivalent for agreement for accommodation in a hotel". If it were a lease type agreement, one could expect a notice period mentioned to cancel the lease. But you are a HOTEL! **facepalm** I sure know I may never find another hotel in 21st century charging accommodation for two years as "auto-renewal".

All hope is not lost, however. People now see the truth behind auto-renewals, and hopefully in coming years auto-renewals won't "come as a surprise", but as illegal extortion from hopeful entrepreneurs. Colorado state in US is working on a statute (Colo. Rev. Stat. § 6-1-732) to require "Express Written Consent" for all auto-renewals exceeding one year. Hope this will one day become law across the world. I'll gladly contribute to making this de-facto.

Regus - mail forwarding

I have had a corp membership and offices with Regus off and on for years. The service out of the Newark De address is horrendous.

My company receives invoices for properties and the Newark office consistently forwards late. Their instructions were to send weekly Priority Mail. There is some mail that was just received from November. This puts the properties in jeopardy because payments are being paid late because we are getting the invoices late.

We have kept a record of the correspondences to the Newark office telling them this is not satisfactory & the last correspondence they were advised I would file a complaint if it continues. If one invoice is not paid; it could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and I would just cancel my contract except there are over 100 properties involved; so it makes it unreasonable.

They are the worst run office that I have ever dealt with. Poor management & poor service. I have kept documentation of the correspondences.

If I lose a property due to the negligence I will pursue legal remedy against Regus.
