I was at location 2335 Cleveland ave. I went in and asked for change sales associate caught and attitude and yelled did not have change. So I asked for manager and he claimed he was the manager. I said can you check the other register for change when another man came over and the claimed he was the manager and asked me to leave for asking simply for some change. I feel discriminated against because I am black and they were white. I didn’t do anything wrong didn’t yell or scream at them but I got yelled and screamed and thrown out the store for asking for change. I will never shop there again. Very poor customer service.
Desired outcome: I want an apology I did not deserve to be treated that way. My phone number is [protected].
RaceTrac - Shift manager poor attitude / racial profiling
I'm WAS a long time customer. I live down the street from the Racetrac store I was a customer at. AJ the current shift manager (June 19th 5:20 pm) when I asked for cigarettes did not acknowledge me and I asked him how his day was I got no response! This isn't the first time I've encountered this problem with this person. I'm Caucasian (Italian/ American), I'm also gay. My fiancé is a business owner in Ft. Myers. He owns a Mercedes SLC 300. But our neighborhood is classified as the hood, which I don't agree with!
That being said, I feel AJ's attitude and judgment about me because of the car I drive and the color of my skin is not only racist and judgmental, but wrong entirely! I also have been in the service industry as a hairstylist for the last four decades and regardless of who came into our salon and or sat in my chair, color of skin etc. I don't make those calls, only God can do that. Ironically enough as I turn to walk away after things were handed to me and my wrist is in a cast I heard him have a nice conversation with the next customer happen to be African-American. That being said, I don't make this kind of complaints lightly, nor do you have I ever really. But this is just not acceptable to me. Because as a gay man coming up in the 70s I've been doored my share of prejudices as well as the next person so that being said I will never step foot into your store whether it be that one or anyone across the United States and some kind of action should be taken against OJ because he's done this to me no more than once. Again, I don't do this lightly or take offense easily because I'm thick skin, but this is just not acceptable behavior in a world that we live in with enough hate and prejudice. So because of his actions towards me, you lost the customer and I'm sure that doesn't put a dent in anybody's bank account but I had to see what I had to say thank you have a nice day
Desired outcome: That would be up to you
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
