Spoke to John Capella for over an hour. We went room by room giving scam artist John Capella the entire inventory to get an accurate moving estimate. They claim to be a partner with Wounded Warriors which is another lie. Had to constantly call Allegiance to be assured they had a crew of packers showing up on our upcoming move. On the day of our move the packer called the night before stating he would be at our home around 9 am. He called saying he was running late. He showed up at 2:30 pm with two small children pulling a horse trailer. He said he was told we had a 1 bedroom and around 1400 square foot house. Then he proceeds to tell me that he needed to walk and video tape our house. Then I get a call from an extremely rude woman asking how I intended to pay the additional $3000 over our $8000 quote. Realizing I had just been scammed, I asked them to leave. There was no crew! They call this a bait and switch which I had seen on Dateline years ago. They stole from us using false advertizing and knowing they were never going to follow through with our move. They couldn't even tell me when they would be delivering our belongings! Felt it was better to lose $3000 than to lose everything we owed. Companies that scam innocent consumers should hve consequenses for their actions. Who brings small children to pack? Child labor laws?
Desired outcome: Total reimbursement from this fraudulent company!
Allegiance Moving and Storage - Entire operation is a farce.
If I could give them a minus zero I would. I hired Allegiance Moving and Storage LLC. to move me from NC to RI. I had two and a half room of furniture. I thought I was hiring a professional moving company only to find out that they are a broker who told me an Allegiance truck would be at my house to pick up my furniture, but that was all a lie. Two guys with a Penski truck showed up 1 1/2 days late.
I was told by an Allegiance Rep that they were not supposed to store my furniture but did. It took me a month to get my furniture back and when I did, boxes were missing, the boxes that made it were all crushed and destroyed some of the contents. In one case the box was so badly crushed that it exploded a can good full of tomato sauce. My computer was damaged beyond repair as well as my router, lamp, and some glass figurines. I bubble wrapped everything and it was still damaged. My keurig didn't make it, nor did my glass pan lids, glass bowls, my expensive shredder was also missing but I found pieces of it in my driveway. I also didn't get the box with my two books of antique coins. All, and when I say all I mean every piece of wood furniture was gouged, nicked, scratched bad enough so that I had to hire a furniture repair person. My furniture is only 1 - 2 years old. My leather love seat made it in but with damage to the structure of the interior walls and door frame. They refused to bring in my leather sofa and said if they tried to get it in and couldn't they would not put it back on the truck, so I had to put it in storage.
I was pressured into signing the contract with them after I had already signed a contract with Allegiance. I tried several times to not sign certain things in the contract but they said if I didn't sign everything they would not take my furniture. I felt as though I had no other choice. I wouldn't be able to get another moving company on such short notice. I know because I tried. I thought I paid for professional movers and opted for the basic insurance, which was 60 cents on the pound. I was so wrong. This entire fiasco cost me a total of $5800. I tried to settle the losses through the moving claims department because after speaking to an attorney, I was told I had a case but would have to go to OHIO and Florida courts to file, I am in RI. The moving claims finally sent me a settlement offer of $38. Couldn't do anything but cry. What a joke. After speaking with a person at Allegiance and asking them how they can justify putting me in the hands of S & M Relo when I was under the impression I was hiring a professional moving company, they told me they can only give me $100. I didn't take it, it is such an insult. They hold you over a barrel and take your money but do not deliver professional service.

Allegiance Moving and Storage - Pack and move
Do not hire these scammers! They are brokers and have nothing to to with the actual packing and move. $3000 depost for a quoted $8000 move. The crew they sent was a man with two small children pulling a horse trialer. He video's my home, calls someone after sending the video. A woman calls me to ask how I am going to pay. Then proceeds to tell me my move will be thousands more to move me. Kicked them out and now scrabbling to find a mover to get me out in two days. Bait and switch. They do not return phone calls leaving you to hound them for answers! Warning, you will get scammed!
Desired outcome: Refund
Allegiance Moving and Storage - Interstate moving service
Allegiance Moving and Storage was a bad move for us from the beginning. We needed to schedule a mover fairly quickly. We hadn't had much experience with movers in the past, but needed to move to another state.
We contracted with them to move our heavy items. We listed the items that we needed to be moved and the guy gave us a sq. footage quote based on that. He claimed he gave us extra sq. footage for misc. things we may have forgotten.
When the day came and I had taped up all glass and mirrors as they instructed, there were problems right away. First it was: "The truck wouldn't start" and they were stuck in Kansas City. So we waited. Finally the found another truck in Colorado that was supposedly coming the next day. That truck did come many hours late at dark. He supposedly had truck trouble too.
From the start of the moving process, it seemed shady. There were two smaller trucks instead of the large semi they had promised. When the guy opened the back of the truck it looked like there was hardly any room in the hold. There were haybales along one side clear to the back door of the truck.
One guy asked me what was going and we did a quick walkthrough of the house. He didnt seem to have a list, just a sq. footage. He said nothing about not thinking he could get it all in. Seemed doubtful to me, but he was the "professional"
The one guy did everything and it was quickly obvious he did not have enough room. Never saw the other driver at this point. He filled up his truck with the easy stuff first. Bad move. Then I had to get forceful about the fact that he had to get our king size bed in the truck. He offloaded a desk and left it where it plopped in 3 different places in our house. He had to do this to get the bed on. At this point, the truck was full. He still needed to load about 4 pieces of furniture that were too large for a couple of 60 year olds to move on their own.
When I realized they weren't going to get anymore on and it was getting close to 10 oclock at night. I just wanted to get it overwith. So I complained about how disappointed they were leaving so much behind. We had even paid extra for a tv box and the guy didnt have the box or anymore room to load our tv.
He showed me the price, which was about 500.00 more than our quote and we argued some. Since I was alone with this not so professional guy I just paid it to get him gone.
After they left, I noticed the hay from the haybales all over my house.
I never saw the other driver til the very end after paying. Then he creepily came in. To do what, I dont know. We never used the other truck and he did not help the first guy at all.
On the other end of the move, they couldnt tell us when they would arrive either. They demanded more money than the original quote as well, in cash. My husband had to sramble because it was late in the day and he had to find a bank that would give him the thousand dollars, since we hadnt established a bank there yet.
They demanded they get the cash before offloading, but my husband got mad because of all the previous lies and told them they would get their money after they moved the furniture in to the house. They did this and left.
This was one of the worst experiences of my life and I would never recommend Allegiance Moving and Storage to my worst enemy!
Desired outcome: My desired outcome would of course be getting some of our money back. I know this is probably not going to happen, so I just want to leave them a very bad review so others don't get taken in by them.
Allegiance Moving and Storage - Moving services
In mid-October, I contacted Matt Thompson of Allegiance Moving and Storage in Florida. Matt was very solicitious and he gave me his personal cell phone number, telling me to contact him directly if I ever needed anything. We spent two and one half hours inventorying all my furniture and belongings. He quoted a moving price of $8, 555.00 and told me I would have to give an electronic check deposit of $3, 103.00. I told Matt that I didn't have that kind of money and that he would have to wait to put through the electronic check until I heard from my fiance.
Matt told me that it was not a problem. The next morning, I called for my balance on my checking account. I was overdrawn because the check from Allegiance Moving and Storage had been put through after midnight.
When I tried to contact Matt on his cell phone, he was suddenly not available - for hours.
Fortunately, my bank returned the check to Allegiance Moving and Storage.
Matt came up with a million excuses, saying that the check had been put through erroneously.
I heard later that Allegiance has a terrible reputation.
