DO NOT BUY FROM HH GREGG! ESPECIALLY NOT THIS STORE located at 3222 EAST COLONIAL DR. in ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32803. Phone # 407.893.9891
After my girlfriend and I had checked out some other electronics stores, we found the tv we wanted. The same tv was available at BEST BUY, SEARS, and HH GREGG. The tv was cheapest at SEARS, but we decided we would rather buy a tv from an electronics store since they specialize in tvs. So after leaving SEARS with the price written down on the SEAR'S salesmans business card, we drove home. On my way home, I called HH GREGG to see if they would price match. After the receptionist checked with a manager on duty, she came back on the phone to say "YES, we can match that price". (They never mentioned their 10% price match guarantee either... SCAMMERS!) I gave her my name, asked her to hold that tv for me, and said I would come by HH GREGG the following day to purchase, pay, and pick up the tv.
So the next day comes, and we walked into the store. We were ready to pay and complete the sale after a long wait of about 20 min, as they scrambled around to make the sale happen. Then the manager on duty, said he couldn't match the price, and they wouldn't sell us the tv for the price that had already been verified the night before by a different manager! He never said sorry, and even though the same women who had taken my call was there in person, and verified she had clearance from the manager on duty the night before, the manager on location that day said NO! They continued to act like they were calling SEARS to verify the price we had told HH GREG this tv set was being sold for, just across the street! The attitude from the manager was unfriendly, unfair, and basically treated us like we were crazy liars! So we told the manager and staff in front of an empty store without a single customer in it, that we would buy the tv across the street at SEARS, and that's exactly what we did. Not only that, but we came back to the store, and walked up to the manager, and showed him the receipt as proof! Obviously he lost a customer for good! I'll never go into another HH GREGG ever! High pressure salesman, poor selection, and an odd variety of items to say the least. Do NOT waste your time going to HH GREGG. They are total scammers, and especially desperate in this economy considering the salesman work on commission, so imagine how aggressive they are! SUCK IT HH GREG!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
HHGregg - price guarantee
HHGregg just opened stores in the Orlando area. THIS IS A WARNING TO PEOPLE IN THE ORLANDO AREA. I have not done business with this company for many years. When we moved to Bloomington, IN., we bought all of our major appliances from them, using checks. We made many purchases from them during the next 10 years or so, using checks for all purchases. The checks had our local Bloomington address on them, although the bank was out of state. They always considered the checks as local because they had our local address. We then went to buy a VHS video recorder which was on sale. They were out of that model, so the clerk got the next higher model which we were to get at the same price (their policy at the time). When we went to pay for it at checkout, the clerk would not accept the check, considering it to be out of town. We called the manager, who also refused the check. Since we had previously given MANY checks there, it was obvious that the reason for rejecting the check was really that they did not want to honor their announced policy because it would have resulted in a loss for them. I wrote corporate headquarters and never heard from them. I never did any business with them after that incident and will not do business with them because of their dishonest action.

So the HH Gregg store is bad because they didn't halt all sales, close their doors and wait for you to come in to buy your TV? I guess your proof that there are people that truly believe that the world revolves around themselves.
I understand that you can't say anything. I actually found a salesman at another HH Gregg store about 20 miles from me that worked wonders for me. I didn't even mention an online price, but I did mention Sears would match and give 10% of difference and what he quoted me was lower than any online price I found. Luckily he is the guy that picked up the phone when I called.
It's weird though that the store closest to me couldn't (or wouldn't) work with me, but this guy would.
Bought the tv I was looking for on Saturday.
love to throw out where i work
but apparently they do not like us getting on forums and saying anything negative or positive about the company
Sorry that I cannot be of any help at this point
I still hate being considered a villain when people walk through the door, but I'm so very close to being done.
Take that price online in to any hhgregg store and the goal now is to find a salesman that isnt a dick... there are at least 5 or so that would match damn near any online price that is out there.
by the way... what deal did ya find, i'll research it and let ya know if it can be done :)
To I sell TV's, which HH Gregg do you work at? I would love to get a deal on a TV that I am looking for and found for a great price on line.
I'm a salesman for HH Gregg ( at least until I graduate from college)
People are people... some of them good, some of them are ###. This is just life and apparently you were dealing with some grade a jerks.
Honestly wish you would have gotten me as your salesmen because I would have had you leaving the store feeling 100% completely different.
I have worked at Best Buy, Circuit City (when they were around), and HH Gregg all through college, and I will tell you that working at HH Gregg gives me the freedom to ensure that my customers are 100% satisfied.
I could not touch price at BBY or CC, but at HH Gregg ( every single day) I will take my customer to the computers, google search ( not just bby sears etc but even those screwy sites such as Abes of Maine, East Coast tvs, etc) and price match the lowest price you can find anywhere. Period.
If that means I take a Samsung 860 series plasma down 350 bucks and a 7000 series LED down 350 bucks for the same customer on one ticket... so be it. My managers agree that in a down market we need to satisfy people to make them come back... the people you delt with were obviously not good people... or we dont have the entire story of what is going on.
So to conclude: no matter where you go video stores, supermarkets, gas stations, retail stores, or wherever you are going to deal with human beings. These human beings are going to vary from intelligent/savvy individuals to the biggest idiots on the planet. Attempt to understand that lumping everyone into one group ( ie racism, prejudice, etc) doesnt do anyone reading these complaint forums any service.
In 4-5 years I've had my share of unhappy customers, but there are at least 30 people in my cell phone that I have helped for years, that continue to come back, and will refer me to anyone they know interested. I have had multiple customers contact management and corporate about how well I've treated them, but only two who have filed complaints.
Even a guy who busts his butt to make sure that his customers are happy cannot please everyone, and sometimes individuals have to look at themselves in the mirror and realize that they might be the ones who are unreasonable.
Anyway my short rant here is complete... I must find a new job instead of wasting my life in retail... good God I need to become a cop or join the military at least then I will be doing something to better others and people will appreciate me...
Oh wait I forgot that our culture also condemns those who's sole purpose is to protect and serve... Jesus people sure do suck
You should have just went to sears and bought it from the first place. Its the same TV comes from the same plant whether you buy it from Sears or Best Buy.
