On or about April 25, 2021 I called Massage Envy located at 4101 Hunters Park Lane, Suite 404 Orlando, FL 32837. I booked a massage and facial for my mother on May 8, 2021, Mothers Day weekend. The day of my mother's appt. a crew member called me less than 2 hours from my appt. time to tell me that the facial would need to be rescheduled due to the fact the esthetician had called out sick. This is outrageous and unacceptable. Please understand that I would never wish ill or harm to anyone, if the person scheduled to work was sick, then I do hope they felt better. However, your company, that location specifically should have prepared for such circumstances. My mother is a breast cancer survivor and this is the first Mother's Day in 2 years I was able to take her out so she could enjoy a day of pampering. In 2019, she was diagnosed with the cancer. She underwent chemotherapy, then ultimately had her two breasts removed. In 2020, she began and finished radiation therapy and then Covid 19 shortly after. I really wanted this Mothers Day to be very special, and what your company did was not only unprofessional but it really showed me that it's companies like yours that need to held accountable for not taking appropriate measures to ensure the best customer service possible. Your company ruined my day. I will never recommend your company to anyone. Please understand that this complaint is not about getting free services. I did take my mother to get her massage on May 8, 2021 and I am just relieved she did enjoy her massage. I will say, on the day of my mothers service, the manager at that location Rebecca Boileau did take the time to speak with me in regards to this matter. I had complained when I received the phone call, and my boyfriend also called to complain when I told him that my moms facial had to be cancelled so she was aware of the situation. Ms. Rebecca did not have to address the issue but she did and that was very nice of her to do. I was upset and crying but only because this meant so much for me to do for my mother. I paid for my mothers massage and left the establishment. To think a company like yours did not have back-up employees on stand-by especially on Mothers day weekend is appalling. I am truly disappointed with what occurred and more upset with how the situation was handled. Offering an alternate date does not remedy the short notice cancellation.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
