My husband and myself bought into Interval International over 3 years ago. We were promised so much. None of it is true. We bought a timeshare in Branson and were shown this beautiful 3 bedroom condo and if we didn't use it we would accumulate so many points every other year to use however we wanted to in places all over the world. . So of course, we bought into this. When it came time to book this lovely condo, we were given 3 separate 1 bedroom condos, that attached for all of our family. It was nothing like we had been shown. When I confronted management about this, they said we had to buy the upscale plan. They misrepresented themselves and scammed us for over 16, 000.00 plus paying 650.00 every two years. We also were told, we could travel anywhere with our points but of course nothing is ever available. Now that I have banked my points they will expire on the 15th (over 100, 000 unused points). And we have not been able to use them in the past two years. We basically pay for our vacations and pay a maintenance and membership fee every two years for nothing. I would like a full refund of all our money!
Interval International / IntervalWorld.com - Unable to exchange week
I am disappointed every time I try to exchange my deposited weeks only to find out every time that my vacation resort is "unavailable". I tried for the last three months to book a reservation, every I called I was told that it was too early and that I have to wait 59 days before the wanted vacation days start. When I finally call to make reservations they tell me that the resort is unavailable. This is the second time I have been told the same, and the first time I had to insist and all of a sudden something opened up.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I can't agree more interval really doesn't work in the owners favor. I have had interval for awhile now and I run into the same problem of not having the resort of choice available. Couple of years ago I was told I didn't make my reservation with enough time, this year I have put the request 7 months an advance and the same answer I get, nothing of my choice. I think it's a waist of money.
I do not understand these complaints at all. I am purchasing a timeshare which will includes I I. RCI has been a disappointment so I figured I'd try I I. Problem with all these complaints is NO ONE says what their Travel Demand Index is for their week, the lower the better. I asked straight out before buying if the Resort week I bought had an index number of 15 would I be able to stay at a Resort with a 14 or lower and was told "NO". (so I bought at a Resort with a number under 10)
Whenever I look up the locations of the Resorts of the people making these complaints (the few that mention location) they are high index numbers, like 35 or 50, some even higher. It's not I I that ripped you off. It is the person that sold you your timeshare because they did not explain how I I works.
These complaints are not effective without posting your location or Travel Index number... so if you really have a timeshare be sure to update with your Travel index number.
Can't agree more. Interval Exchange is utterly useless. More often then not, they can not give an exchange for the deposit made in advance. Always stating there are a limited number of exchanges. But never a shortage of extra weeks one can "buy". And then to add to their total ineffectiveness, i am never able to do a like for like exchange. Penthouse and 3 bedroom unit deposits, i'm lucky if i get a 1 bedroom exchange back. A studio - forget it! I want out. I want my deposits back, i want my money back. DON'T join up. Stay away!

In jan 2008 I called interval and got ken his extension is 8555. I asked for the best hotel in hawaii for exchanges and where I could also purchase "get aways"for others traveling he said resort quest waikiki sunset. They have a lot of "inventory" for exchanges and it would only take less than 30 days to confirm my exchange. So I purchased over 4000.00 in getaways from interval via ken. Time passed no confirmation, received many calls trying to see me membership for longer time frames and I would ask about my exchange and they would say not confirmed. May 31 2008 - finally got back in contact with ken - he said "he expects my exchange to be confirmed any day now". 14 june almost 6 months later and several more conversation with ken, I spoke to gennie in customer relations - she said they they don't exchange with this hotel and they are not sure why the agent ken put me on the path with this hotel, it may have been for the getaway sales, however they seldom ever have an exchange with this hotel. I called ken back relayed this to him - he said do not talk to that department again just talk to him and he will get this fixed and get my exchange - I will get you on the prior ty waiting list. He asked me to call back 17 june - same day I called to customer relations and asked about the prior ty exchange list they said that that there was no priority anything list. I ask for a supervisor - I got helen gray ext 8725. Left a detailed message. She called me back and said that gennie was new and should not have gave me that information and they do exchange with them, I asked about the priority list and she said they was no priority list and I told her ken told me about it, she put me on hold and came back and gave me a priority list confirmation #. I questioned the intergerty of this saying there is no other list and now they are a list and she said that she would personal work this and get it resolved and she would call me a keep me posted. 17 june spoke to ken he said he could not help me because I was on some kind of black list and only management helen gray could help me, he said he does not know what is going on.
I called and left voice message with ms helen gray 20, 23, 24, 26 june, with home and cell numbers, no return call. 26 june I spoke to carla ext 8251 after going through the whole story again she to said I need to get a supervisor for you because we don't exchange ever with them and that they could exchange but they is never inventory and she does not know why I was recommended this hotel. 26, 27 june left voice mail for helen gray - no return call. 27 june also spoke with carla again and she said sorry not confirmed and forwarded me to helen's voice mail.
11 july spoke with garfield related my story and he checked no inventory I asked if they can exchange there he said yes they can I ask do you exchange there he said they can, I asked when when the last exchanged there he said he did not know... Was advised 11 july by garfield that helen grey was out and ext. 8231 bobby dilla was the supervisor I could speak with left two message no call back. I asked if the there was anyone higher I could talk to he said no, this was the highest office for any help.
I have come to beleive gennie was telling me the truth because she was new and new no better... And that I was lead to buy non refundable getaways on false exchange information.
Desired outcome - room exchange 24-31 july 2008 at resort quest
Waikiki sunset with the rest on my guest for the 139.00 exchange fee
Already paid.
No response: this place is aweful

I fully agree. Unfortunately I read this far too late. I am just another victim.
