I had direct Tv for yrs and reported I had a that did not function (get cable) Troubleshooted 3 times over phonewith associates, each over 1 hr. Manager of repairs sid pitch the box and they will send a new one. Never recieved new one. Called again and they saw notes and said there was no signal on old box, discard and the will send new one. I recieved it and reconnected it. 4 mths later I got bill for box ( Over 400.00) stating the service was to be shut off if I did not mail it back. I mailed it the same day I got the noticeNov 23rd 2009 along with a 94.00 payment(early mthly charge ) . The check was cashed but they stated they never got box. I had the owner of the UPS store, sign and obtain all credit card and transaction and packing receipts along with a notarized letter stating He indeed packed and shipped the receiver back. They shut off my Direct Tv, mailed me return boxes for all receivers and never told me they were canceling service. I was paid 1 mth in advance for service and had no TV for entire Christmas Break . ? They charged my amex ex without me giving them any authorization, over 1000.00 stating the equipment and early cancellation. I did not pay and said I have the receivers if they want them and that I would like a refund of 94.00 since I pd for Dec, provided proof that I mailed the receiver and never cancelled the service since they felt the receiver was in a warehouse of theirs and pending discovery ?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
