On Saturday, July 17, 2021, my tire blew out on Interstate 285 and I waited 3 hours for a tow truck. My car was towed to the dealership where the spare tire was put on my vehicle. I then drove to the BJ's tire center closest to my home at the Camp Creek Marketplace, 3585 North Commerce Drive, East Point, GA 30344, where I purchased all 4 tires with warranty and road hazard. When I arrived at the tire center at approximately 5:00 pm, the doors were locked, lights off and bay area closed and chained, although the hours of operation clearly showed 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. I inquired about the tire center being closed with an employee that was gathering carts in the parking lot. He went inside to confirm the tire center's closure and returned to tell me that "sometimes when we are short on staff, we close early"! Needless to say, this is absurd! I immediately called the BJ's in Newnan, GA to get clarification on the tire replacement policy as I did not want to drive an additional 25 miles or more on a spare tire. I was then informed that either way, I would have to ORDER MY OWN TIRE and have it sent to "the club" to have it installed. I returned to BJ's (Camp Creek) on Sunday morning to start the process of ordering a tire, only to be told that my tire had been discontinued and there was nothing that could be done until Monday when the employee called Michelin directly. The employee, named Chitty, assured me that he would call me on Monday after speaking to Michelin regarding a replacement... he never called. On Tuesday, after being placed on hold for 20 mins. and the call being disconnected, an employee by the name of Lawrence called me back to explain the process in detail of ORDERING MY OWN TIRE! This is absolutely ridiculous in that I am NOT a tire specialist but BJs is SUPPOSED to be! As advised, I ordered my tire on Tuesday evening (with 2-day shipping) and returned to BJs on Thursday, July 22. I was told by Chitty that my appointment was for the following Thursday and it was 4:45 and the tire center was closing at 5:00 p.m. I asked him was my tire at the shop since I had been inconvenienced already?! He stated that he didn't know and refused to check the inventory to see. In my opinion, the customer service at BJs (Camp Creek) resembles the name of the employee, Chitty with a SH! I will never purchase tires from BJs again AND am considering driving to Newnan to do my club shopping because unfortunately, on the urban side of town we don't treat our customers with the respect they deserve.
Desired outcome: I just want a tire and better customer service!
