Roses Discount Store

I purchased two shirts: women's medium black and rust color. I didn't keep the tags because I knew they would fit. I have purchased J Lauren clothes several times. I wore the black shirt and noticed the fabric balled up when I wore it. I washed it and the balls were all over it... And looked like balled up lint. I returned the rust colored shirt to the Roses Store on Gordon Highway, Augusta, Ga... And took the black shirt w/ me to show the clerk what happened when I washed it. I didn't request a refund in the black shirt b/c I had worn it. But I did ask for a store credit on the new rust one that had not been worn. The store manager was adamant that the shirt could not be returned or exchanged under any conditions since I had torn off the tags... W/no receipt even though the shirt was of defective fabric.. I told her the fabric was defective on both shirts but was I only returning one of them/unused. The store manager refused any opportunity to return/exchange the defective merchandise. Please help me return one or both shirts for store credit since I will not be using them due to the lint balls on the shirts.
