I tried the boots on in the store, on Saturday; and finding them comfortable, purchased them. I wore them to work on Monday and throughout the day realized that they were hard and bruising to my shins (front and back), when I would walk. On Wednesday, I took the boots back to the store, and requested an exchange, as they left my shins bruised and hurting. The young lady in the store told me that she could not refund/exchange the shoes if I wore them. I asked her then if Rack Room Shoes (RRS)would prefer that their customers lie to them in order to get the refund/exchange. If I hadn't worn the shoes, how would I know whether or not they were problematic? Also, I could have gone to another store and returned the shoes, but, I am integral, and would never do such a thing. I am writing because I think that it is horrible to be forced to keep a pair of shoes that I will never wear again, and, to have an establishment that I have frequented for many years to place me in such a position. I decided that if this is RRS's policy, I will no longer shop at these stores. I have already began warning my friends and family about this unfair policy, so that they don't waste money that they can't get back.
I also waited about ten minutes for service, prior to the disappointing non-resolution of the matter.
