I and my husband went to the family dollar located on 6690 Highway 85 Riverdale Georgia. Nobody was at the registers other then another customer also waiting. When we approached the registers I noticed a bell. I rang that bell a worker (The manager on duty) arrived.
Due to a very recent car accident (Saturday 12/17/22) and the fact that I nearly fell into the red crate near the register trying help unload stuff hitting the injuries on my legs me not being able to move around easily due to physical injuries my husband was using my EBT card to attempt payment. Not knowing that the worker spoke Spanish or knowing at this time she was even the manager. I was explaining to my husband how to pass the card for transaction and the pin number to enter. The transaction didn't go through. He attempted the second time still did not go through at this point the cashier/manager rolled her eyes and sighed. I then slowing approached the register letting her know it's EBT. She replied "I know!" and snarled at us. I said "well maybe it's set for credit or debit I don't know that there's a difference", she said "maybe you don't know how to use your EBT card". Very rudely she continues to stare at me as I pass it now the 4th time repeating how I'm doing it as she presses a button on the register saying to me "you know what why don't you just leave your stuff here and leave my store" and it goes through. She replied then rolling her eyes "wow look at that now it goes through" I asked at this point for a manager she then said she was the manager. I told her she was a "horrible manager and that we were the customers and that she had no right to speak to us that way". My husband at this point was paying with debit card for the rest of the payment. He said in spanish to me "Ella no debit de hablar asi con nosotros por que no estamos malos ni porta mal con ella". After that she says to us in spanish"Ustedes debit de saber los cosas mejor ensena a tu pinche esposo como para usar una tarjeta". (Pausing) then as we continue to walk out and I say again "You have no right to speak to us the way you are nor do you have the right to be cussing at my husband in spanish" she replied "I can speak to you in English or Spanish or any language however I want to as the manager" then saying in spanish "Y manana no queiro que te regresas a mi tienda y voy hablar con el dueno manana". We (my husband and I both) then replied "ok hazlo lo que quiere".
As we left there were other customers in line behind us, another cashier who said as we approached the door "You should just leave", and gentle whom I believe also worked there saying "ok ok it's gonna all be ok if you just go"
Her service was extremely bad. Her mouth dirty, very unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable in that store.
Also that crate should have been in front of the register. If I had fallen into it this situation would have been a bigger problem.
Absolutely no customer nor employee should have to deal with someone of her attitude.
