8/12/09 I took my dog to Banfield rather than my vet because of uncontrolled vomiting and they are 5 minutes from my house. She was given a blood scan, which was normal, and an exam behind closed doors. I have never, in 40 years of owning pets, ever not had it examined in front of me! Bhaskar Reddy did not speak English and did not have any suggestions to offer. I repeatedly asked if I should fast her, give her Pediasure, feed her boiled rice/hamburger. The only response from him was to ask repeatedly "did she eat something bad" and to shrug. No concern, no suggestions, just a shrug. The receptionist handed me a card with an 800# highlighted - I called when I got got home and was assured the matter would be taken seriously. I called again today to re-request a refund on the invisible exam and was advised the issue was handled by the location direct. My dog is fine but what about all the others ignored by a so-called veterinarian who cannot communicate in the English language and has no concern for the health of pets brought to him?

I'm sorry for your experience ... I've always had good luck with the Banfield hospital here in Dallas, they saved my boyfriends dog and he couldn't be more grateful. His dog was vomiting as well and we took her right in and they found the problem so we were able to get it taken care of ... we didn't ask to be in the exam room though so I don't know what they would've said to that.
That's weird, because I took my mom's dog to Banfield in Greenbelt, MD and they examined him right in front of me. Of course, I will not allow them not too! You have a right as the owner to attend the exam with your pet. I know I do!
My personal vet is Dunloggin Animal Hospital in Ellicott City, MD. They are absolutely great and they don't overcharge you. I have been taking my Yorkie there since he was 9 weeks old. He will be 4 in November.
