I pulled 2 doors at U Pull It brought them to the Maaco in Shoreline Wa. agreed on $800.00 to straighten post and install doors. They would keep the car over the weekend and I would pick it up on Monday. I spent 3 days in a motel Monday it wasn't ready I picked it up Tuesday, an additional day in motel. After driving it I discovered the steering was broken Bring this to there attention I and my car were insulted, and they refused to repair it. I spent over $1, 250 w/ t.loss title.license's, tabs, trip permit, motel. This is a rotten experience from a rotten company.
They painted my car which was fine. I found my trunk with the plastic bar missing and all the padding was all messed up. I drove from Henderson to Craig to see what happened and if they could help me. They were so nasty and said that they didn't get the car like that. I said I would never leave my trunk like that. I have a warranty for 3 years and they told me to go to Chevy because my car was a 1999 Chevy that I had painted.
We took our vintage volkswagon in for paint and body work. we were told if we prepaid for the parts the car could be completed in 1 week. After two weeks and being told they were having difficulty with rust on the wheels, we saw the car and only the new parts had been installed, nothing done on the preparation for painting. the manager, James Cisson threstened to call the county police when we confronted him with the lies he had told us. after the third week the car was to be delivered, and when we went to pick it up, there were multiple flaws in the repairs and there was a hole in the new running board we had purchased. Despite numerous phone calls and four trips to get the car when we were told it would be ready, we were never able to talk to the owner. we spent over 2700.00 and have a substandard paint job. these people are just liars and cheats. we hope no one else has to go throught this.
Hi, I took a brand new bumper for paint job to Maaco in Patterson NJ, because he (Tim, the owner) had told me a price of $100 over the phone. I asked him some questions to gauge how much work is involved and he gave me vague answers and answered in "it depends". I also asked him if the finish will be good and he assured me it will be good.
The next day Tim tells me that the bumper is ready when I went there to pick it up I was disappointed. The finish had sand and tree particles on it. I asked him "Why are there particles in the paint?". He answered "For $100 I cannot do anything more than this." I told him "This is negligence. The bumper after painting was not kept in a clean place to dry". He answered "We don't have a clean place. It is all dusty here. If you want take the bumper as it is or you can leave the bumper here and not pay for the paint job. For $100 I don't have the time to answer your questions. I am hungry and tired and I have to leave soon" I said “It was your price. Not mine. If you had told me this yesterday I would not come here. I would not have left my bumper here for a paint job knowing you don’t have a clean facility.” I finally paid him the money ($103 ) and took the bumper with me. Tim is incapable of doing a good paint job.
Guys, when he took my bumper he spoke as though he does the best job in the word. Such guys are quick to take money and it comes to quality they cheat. He was talking as if he was doing a favor on me by painting. It is very obvious that any customer expects at least sand and tree particles not to be there in the paint job. That guy Tim, was very rude and arrogant and he definitely cheated by deceiving me.If you know a place where I can place a complaint on him please let me know.
You get what you pay for. I had my 2006 Corvette painted at Maaco in Lakewood. NJ. I picked the base clear paint job and I needed some Body work. The price was 1800.00 plus tax. The car was done on time and they did a great job. The owner rich was very nice to deal with and took the time to answer all my questions. When I picked the car up it was all clean and detailed and we just loved it. I take it to shows in NJ and people can not believe it was painted at Maaco. Let this be a lesson. You need to check with the B.B.B. of NJ before you use a shop. Maaco in Lakewood NJ has a A+ rating. Thanks again Rich you and your staff did a amazing job.
These folks are absolute thieves do not buy a maaco franchise or any of the driven brands group!
Does anyone know a way to complain about them to corporate, the customer service was nast and ghetto, they did a poor job on my car, DODNOT GO THERE please be aware, they are very rude when you complain and they don't care, I'm contacting Better Business Bureu, right now
Maaco SUCKS!
I had a similar experience. I had my Mustang painted there a couple of years back and when I went to pick it up, I inspected it first. They had painted over mud! They never washed the car prior to painting it. Needless to say, I pitched such a fit, they had to redo it.
So, a few weeks ago, my parents, against my strenuous objections, decided to get my dad's truck painted there. Upon 1st inspection, they found several areas where they had painted over what appeared to be dirt. It was pointed out to the clerk. He said they would tak it back and fix it, but it would take several hours to do it. So, when my parents went back to pick it up, I went with them. I fully inspected the truck from front to back. The places that my parents had pointed out where buff down, but looked horrible. There were drips of paint going down behind the tool box(that was removed prior to taking to them), and when I opened the passenger door, there was a huge area above the door frame that they didn't even paint.
They had used touch up paint on several areas as well.
My dad is pretty passive, but I'm not. When he went in to get someone to come out, I went with him. The guy started saying yeah, ok we'll fix this, but you won't get it back before next week because he has several people's cars that were scheduled to be painted the next day. I lost it. I told the guy that this was their screw up and this was the second time that it was messed up. My dad's truck WILL get fixed tomorrow before all these other cars because he was there first, and if they had painted it right in the first place, we wouldn't be having this discussion! I think I really scared that guy because we had the truck back the next day! It wasn't perfect, but my dad (the passive person) just wanted his truck back. Obviously I wasn't with him when he went to pick it up only because I had to work.
After reading all the bad reviews on Maaco I'm definitely not going there and especiall after reading your post. I have a 2002 Chevy Cavalier that is in bad shape paint wise so I've thought about getting it painted but think I'll just let the paint wear away and figure it out later. I saw a guy in front of a Denver Maaco carrying a protest sign saying Maaco cheated him out of money. Macco needs to disappear. I hope they're not on Tom Martino's list of good businesses.
A bad paint job plus your own ### all over yourself makes it even tougher to get the ladies. You were wise not to take such a route.
