To Whom It May Concern:
I have been an employee of Roadhouse in Ashland, Kentucky for over a year now. I am writing to express my concern about the management practices that are taking place.
The management has adopted a two-table rule saying that the waitress/waiter is not capable of handling more tables than that. Most servers have been at the establishment for over 2 years and have until recently been given 3-4 tables per shift. As you know, this is greatly impacting the amount of money we are able to make. My concern, as a member of this team is that this is a very unfair rule that greatly impacts our making a good living.
The management will also offer us help saying to call on them if we need help; however, if we do get swamped and ask for assistance then we get punished. For example, they will take some of my tables, take some of my shifts away. As you can see, this is not, nor should it be an acceptable policy. I make my living working at Roadhouse and had been incredibly happy until these new rules have come into play. Because of this, all of us are making less money and getting less shifts. Most of us feel they are leaving little option but for us “experienced” waitstaff to find other employment. This is not something that I want to do.
Kentucky law stipulates that an owner can not compel workers to participate in tip out. Tip outs cannot be mandated, and employees have to be given the choice of whether or not they would like to use the system. However, we are being required to tip share when in Kentucky managers and supervisors are prohibited from participating in a tip pool or otherwise keeping employees tips regardless of whether the employer takes a tip credit. However, this is happening in Ashland, KY on a daily basis with no option given.
Therefore, our hopes are that by letting corporate know of this that someone will come and help.
Desired outcome: Better work enviornment

Me and my boyfriend and our family usually eat in this resturant about 1 time every week usually saturday or sunday, Today we got absolutley awful service. Our waitresses name was Faith, she brung us our water and my daughter her hi c as im pouring my daughters drink she knocks it out of my hand and instead of the waitress asking would i like another drink from her she just laughs, my mother in law recieved a house salad in which she asked for blue cheese crumbles which she didnt recieve we had to ask another waiter because we couldnt find ours for about 10 mins for another dressing which took forever to recieve i finally got a managers attention she didnt even apologize about the issue she just nodded and walked away and then our waitress came back with a drink for my daughter and another dressing for my mother in laws salad, We got our food and water refills after we waited for what felt like forever just to get my daughters fries and my fries that had way to much salt, that issue got resolved but i just feel we hold this resturant to a high bar of a service level of a 10 and the service we recieved today was a 2 and im very disapointed.
